Super Hell Fighters (Balanced OU)

Super Hell Fighters

new2.png

Welcome to my RMT! This is my balanced OU team. I find it to be very versatile and able to hold it's own in a variety of situations. Each Pokemon does it's job well and effectively, while sharing perfect synergy with one another. I named the team "Super Hell Fighters" because I took it upon myself to nickname each of my Pokes after DBZ villains, for I've been watching all 9 seasons recently.

In-Depth Analysis

612_haxorus_front_norm.png

Broly (Haxorus) @ Choice Scarf
Mold Breaker | Adamant (+Atk, -SpA)
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Aqua Tail

I originally centered it around a physically attacking Kyurem-B, but was then informed that he had moved to ubers. So, Haxorus made a fine replacement! Many people don't expect him to be scarfed, so he's usually able to out-speed most sweepers and take them out. Aqua Tail is for coverage, since I couldn't find a 4th move to my liking.

jellicent-f.png

Majin Buu (Jellicent) @ Leftovers
Water Absorb | Calm (+SpD, -Atk)
252 HP / 36 Def / 220 SpD
- Scald
- Recover
- Toxic
- Shadow Ball

What a fantastic stall. Jellicent is able to draw out almost any point of battle with me and has openings to cause damage and possibly burn with scald, poison the bulkier Pokemon my opponent may have, and can safely switch in to spinners and water type attacks.

579_reuniclus_front_norm.png

Cell (Reuniclus) @ Leftovers
Magic Guard | Bold (+Def, -Atk)
252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SpD
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Recover
- Focus Blast

Reuniclus takes most physical hits well for me and is able to dish out quite a lot of damage with calm mind/psyshock set up. It's very easy to pull off and many people expect me to carry psychic instead of psyshock.

645.png

Piccolo (Landorus) @ Life Orb
Sheer Force | Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Earth Power
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power Ice
- Rock Polish

My special sweeper. I gave him some EVs in his SpD and HP so he would be able to take a small hit in tight spots, but after taking some advice, I decided to change it. He's able to hit hard and thanks to sheer force, he doesn't take life orb recoil except when using hidden power ice to take out dragon and flying pokemon.

385_jirachi_front_norm.png

Baby (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Serene Grace | Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)
80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
- Substitute
- Iron Head
- Body Slam
- Fire Punch

A great staller and game changer. Although risky, I find it pretty effective to rely on Jirachi when put in a corner. Whether or not I'm behind a substitute, I'm able to body slam and get paralyze hax thanks to his ability most of the time, and Iron Head flinch them into submission. Fire Punch gives me great coverage over other steel types who try and resist Jirachi.

forretress.png

Meta-Cooler (Forretress) @ Leftovers
Sturdy | Relaxed (+Def, - Spe)
252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD
0 Spe IVs
- Stealth Rock
- Pain Split
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch

My rapid spinner here allows me to set up on my opponent and take hits very well. I can also scout out my opponent and use volt switch if things get to hectic for him. Once he loses enough HP, I can use pain split for a game changer.

So thanks for checking out my team, guys! This is my first RMT, so please give any type of constructive criticism. I love this team and Pokemon, so I would only want to get better. Thanks guys!

lol DBZ, havent heard about that great dinosaur in a while :D

and welcome smogon! where we live with our computers and get laid almost as much as forever alone! (almost)...

anyway, this team looks really good, id say the only problem is that the team doesnt seem to have been tested.
what i mean is, when a pokemon with sheer holds a life orb, it doenst take damage, regardless of the move being used.

and im sorry if i am wrong and you have tested it, then the only real problem is forretress. just replace spikes or T-spikes with pain split. it'll give him an edge in the fight because, if you use logic hear, how many turns per battle does forretres actually get an opportunity to set up spikes? 2, maybe 4 if your lucky.
pain split can keep forretress alive for longer, and can still damage enemies.

hope i helped, and again, im sorry if i was wrong.

I was considering it, actually! Thanks a lot!!!

Hey there Matt, that's a pretty solid weatherless team you're trying out here, so kudos to you for using it. This team seems to be very well built, and it shows that you have a good amount of knowledge of the OU meta, so props for that also. But with all good news, bad news is sure to be there. This team could definitely use some improvements, and that's what I'm here for, to help this team improve and whatnot. Anyways, I'll make some suggestions, and you should take them into deep consideration and try em out before commenting on them. Alright, I'm done rambling and it's time to rate! Okay, when I glance at this team, I don't see any real glaring weaknesses, due to the wonderful synergy that his team has. So, I'll go ahead and suggest some EV and moveset changes in addition to changing a Pokemon or two if the occasion calls for it. Okay, to kick things off, I would change the EV spread of Jellicent to 252 HP / 36 Def / 220 SpD over your current spread. These EV's assure that Jellicent will take special hits much more effectively than the spread that you previously had. Moving on, if you want Landorus to be a special sweeper, I would suggest that you give the Rock Polish set a shot over your current one. After just one Rock Polish, Landorus outspeeds the whole OU metagame except a very small amount of scarfers. Landorus can then start sweeping with its amazing amount of coverage moves. Well, that's all I can say for now. I hope that my advice helped. Have fun and good luck with your team!

I appreciate all the help I can get! Thank you very much, kind sir! And on a completely random note, I am also a proud Atheist haha

what i mean is, when a pokemon with sheer holds a life orb, it doenst take damage, regardless of the move being used.

Sheer Force only cancels LO recoil if the move used has a secondary effect. HP Ice doesn't, so he gets recoil from it. Earth Power lowers stats, so it does, AND cancels out LO.

The team looks pretty good overall. I'm actually looking at swapping my own Ferro/Starmie out for Forry/Jelly for added spinblock at the cost of some power.

I find Jelly to be much more useful as a spin blocker with water absorb.
