SV OU Super Sun Pivot!!

I'm not the most experienced OU player and this is my first post but hopefully you guys like the team and maybe can offer me some improvements, but I hit 1400 for the first time with a version of this team and think it could be genuinely pretty good, and has been quite fun so far. I also don't know the most about EV spreads and things but I did my best!

First off, we have our obligatory sun setter, despite this being a sun team this team does not entirely rely on sun being set, and can excel even in situations where you cant set up sun or keep getting blocked by a Pelliper or glowking. For this slot I used torkoal for a while but he just didn't fit right and didn't do a whole lot besides set rocks which got removed a turn later and die.
So, I decided to switch to a slightly unconventional glowking set, using heat rock and sunny day to fuel our sun loving core, and using T-wave and Hex to spread some status and deal with some MU's that the team may not have the best answer for.

Slowking-Galar @ Heat Rock
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sunny Day
- Thunder Wave
- Hex
- Sludge Bomb

For our second slot I decided I needed a bit of a defensive sponge, and opted for alomomola, not the most original idea ever but it's the perfect switch in when you need a turn to secure yourself a safe switch against a threat, just toss it in and get the free regen from its ability, just gotta watch out for spA attackers.

Alomomola @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Flip Turn
- Protect
- Scald
- Wish

Now onto the fun stuff! The first in our fast paced core is obviously Walking Wake. This is a bit of a custom set as well, meant to pop in and out using eject pack. I've fallen in love with this item quite a bit and think that it's got some very fun synergy with a team like this. Just pop a STAB draco meteor, eject out, and use one of the other 3 members of the team to pick off anything that may live a meteor. Tera blast Fairy for dealing with opposing dragons, although I'm sure this 4th slot can get switched around to something a bit better.

Walking Wake @ Eject Pack
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 6 HP / 246 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Hydro Steam
- Flamethrower
- Tera Blast

The only other pokemon that truly uses the sun on this team is Roaring moon. This slot I wasn't so sure about at first but using a Speed focused set, this thing can pop in under the sun and one shot most MU's even without the proto boost to attack, and the speed boost allows it to switch in on common DD users like Dragonite and Gouging fire. U-turn also enables this pokemon to switch in and out freely, using its insane speed under the sun to get some free poke/chip if it doesn't have a good move to kill whatever is in front of it.

Roaring Moon @ Life Orb
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 32 HP / 220 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Knock Off
- U-turn

I didn't want to rely on the sun too much, but wanted to keep with the hyper pivot constant switching idea of the team, so our next slot goes to the ever reliable Cinderace. This set is pretty decent imo, nothing crazy or innovative, just lots of type coverage, low kick for kingambit although it hasn't been used much on my climb thus far, and of course, U-turn to allow for intense pivoting and Heavy duty boots to ignore those pesky rocks.

Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Libero
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Low Kick
- Pyro Ball
- Gunk Shot

For our final slot, we have another pivot loving boots using mon, Meowscarada. This set is pretty much just made to cover any type that isn't covered by the rest of the team, and used to do good amounts of damage before using good ol' U-turn to zip in and out and allow for lots of MU manipulation.

Meowscarada @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protean
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Triple Axel
- U-turn
- Play Rough
- Flower Trick

I hope someone found this team interesting enough to try it out, and if anyone has suggestions I would be more than happy to hear them and try it out, especially when it comes to EV spreads of movesets! Thanks.

Hi and welcome to smogon!
My only real comment on the team is that a sun team needs a Drought user.
I see that you tried out Torkoal and found it just died a lot, but I think maybe you were just using him in the wrong way. Instead of keeping him in to set up rocks, try to spin, and attack, you should bring it in just for the sun and immediately switch it out to one of your pivots. In this case that would be cinderace alomomola or Meowscarada, though I do think these slots aren't the best for a sun team anyway but I'll leave that for now.

The other option if you really don't end up liking torkoal is this.
:sv/Ninetales:
Ninetales @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Tera Type: Ghost
Timid Nature
- Overheat
- Encore
- Healing Wish
- Memento

This set is a more offensive option for sun teams, letting Ninetales fire off very powerful Overheats before switching out. It also has some fun options in Healing Wish and Memento to allow it to set up the sun and make sure one of your team members has the best possible setup for sweeping. Just like Torkoal, you shouldn't let him die early game, but this could give you some more options.

Ninetales @ Heat Rock

Timid Nature

I appreciate the advice and I will definitely try it out, I found torkoal hard to switch off of, and that could definitely be because meowscarada and cinderace aren't the best for the team like you said (Would love to hear more about that, just thought they were fun additions for the pivot factor cause i find switching in and out quite enjoyable and fun for mindgames) But I will absolutely try this ninetales set, thanks for giving advice to a hardstuck 1300 shitter like me :)

Fellow Meowscarada enjoyer here, nice team, I really think that Mola is an awesome pivot for sun teams, it's just so easy to get safe switch-ins with it. You made a small mistake with the EVs on Wake, it should be 8 HP 244 SpA instead of 6 HP 246 SpA, 244 EVs give the same stat as 246 EVs. Since you have not posted a Pokepaste I would advise that you check if you made the same mistake in Teambuilder. Regarding the team in general, I agree with Duck Chris that you need a Drought Mon. Sadly, Torkoal isn't as complete as a lead as before the Sleep ban (Yawn). The Ninetales set Duck Chris showed is imo also the best Ninetales set for this team (if you want you can change Memento for Wisp). If you insist (I wouldn't recommend it) on manual sun I would recommend this Deo-D set.

Deoxys-Defense @ Heat Rock
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 244 SpD / 12 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock/Taunt
- Sunny Day
- Teleport
- Night Shade

Although it doesn't have Regen like Glowking, you can keep this thing healthy with Wish support from Mola. Teleport is super good because it has negative priority and always grants a safe switch. Night Shade is for consistent damage. As the last move you can use Rocks for a form of Hazards and breaking Sashes or Taunt to deny Set-Up from slower mons. The 12 Spe EVs are here to taunt max Speed Gambit so it doesn't SD on you. It also even learns T-Wave if you liked that on Glowking.

Sun Teams are also very weak to hazards so I would advise running removal like Booster Speed Tusk/Treads or Hatterene. Sadly you would have to replace my boy Meow. If you run Tusk I would advise this set.

Great Tusk @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Rapid Spin
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner

This Tusk can sweep and also almost always remove Hazards because it gets a Speed Boost from the sun. Nothing more to say. It's also a bit bulkier than normal Tusk because of the HP investment.

I would also change the Cinderace to more of a Wallbreaking set using High Jump Kick instead of Low Kick and Sucker Punch instead of Gunk Shot and utilising Tera Fire for massive Pyro Ball damage. I also like Eject Button on Alo for a safe switch and healing of the damage with Regen.

Thank you for the advice i really appreciate it, I was already thinking about putting tusk on the team cause ive been struggling with hazards, so I really appreciate it, and I'm glad you agreed with the alo pick. I'll definitely try out the changes and see if i can make ninetales work or if I decide to just deal with my personal distaste for torkoal and use him anyway, but thank you, this was very constructive :) I also love the eject button suggestion on alo, eject button and eject pack just feel so fun idk why but definitely gonna mess around with this version of the team
