EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Tailwind
- Moonblast
- Fake Tears / Taunt
- Encore / Taunt

With move order now recalculated mid-turn, Prankster Tailwind makes Whimsicott a fantastic support pick for offensive teams in DOU, nearly guaranteeing a Speed boost for its teammates. In this metagame, speed control is essential for putting yourself in a winning position. Prankster Tailwind is especially helpful for Pokemon with middling Speed, including Sylveon and Dracovish. Moonblast serves as a good STAB move that hits metagame threats such as Dracovish and Dragapult for super effective damage. Fake Tears helps a teammate such as Dragapult or Rotom-W to aggressively nab KOs. Encore makes opponents think twice about using status moves such as Protect. Taunt serves as a means to block setup from opposing Whimsicott and Togekiss. Whimsicott is helpless against Fire- and Steel-types such as Incineroar and Melmetal, which makes Keldeo and Rotom-W great partners.

qc.
  • Many mechanics have changed with the new Sword and Shield generation. One significant change is the new speed mechanics, where Pokémon order is now calculated mid-turn." This could be written in just one line if you mention it along Tailwind; you dont have to explain it this long, and you can just make it an aside note when you bring up Prankster Tailwind as its x factor
  • Max 252 SpA over Max HP
  • Aside from Tailwind and Moonblast, nothing else on the set is really mandatory, which could lead to a slew of slashes. Energy Ball, Taunt, Worry Seed, Encore, Memento, Sunny Day, Beat Up... there's multitude of options here. The last two slots on your set arent really defined like that, typically.
  • For a pokemon that is specifically a tailwind bot, something that could be done is highlight how Speed control is a very much relevant mechanic in doubles play. You seemed to railroad into the set itself; you made it look like an average joe and forgot to highlight the thing it makes it spotlight-worthy in the first place, just going into it does this and that

More QC:
  • At the start of your first sentence say 'move order' rather than 'speed', as technically that was recalculated in previous gens (for moves like Gyro Ball, etc.) so move order is more accurate.
  • When mentioning Pokemon that Whimsicott's STAB moves hit, mention Dragapult instead of Hydreigon, as that's a much more relevant threat.
  • Change the last sentence to "Whimsicott has many viable support options, such as Beat Up and Sunny day with Pokemon such as Arcanine and Charizard, respectively." to help emphasise the large number of moves you can use on it. (This should still keep you under 1000 characters)

Otherwise looks good, having done what Memo said. Do this for QC 1/1!

With move order now recalculated mid-turn, Prankster Tailwind makes Whimsicott a fantastic support pick for offensive teams in Doubles OU, nearly near-guaranteeing a speed Speed boost for its teammates. In a this metagame such as Doubles OU, (repetition) speed control is essential in for putting yourself in a winning position. Prankster Tailwind is especially helpful in helping for Pokemon with middling speed tier pokemon Speed, including Sylveon, (RC) and Dracovish, which appreciate being able to outspeed a majority of the unboosted metagame. (This seems redundant; if you're implying Fishious Rend, though, we can re-work this) Moonblast and Energy Ball serve as good STAB moves that hit metagame threats such as Dracovish, Dragapult, and Gastrodon for Super-Effective super effective damage. Worry Seed helps to remove the abilities of common weather abusers sweepers such as Ludicolo and Excadrill. Whimsicott is helpless against Fire-types such as Rotom-H and Arcanine, which make makes Excadrill and Dracovish great partners. Whimsicott has many viable support options, such as Beat Up and Sunny day with Day, to use alongside Pokemon such as Arcanine and Charizard, respectively..(Remove extra space; also does Arcanine benefit from Sunny Day too? Or does it not run Fire-type attacks?)

gp (part 2 electric boogaloo) 1/1 once done

Implemented. On the topic of the other DOU spotlights, I talked to Level 51 and yeah, Durant is def not worth publishing and Necrozma isn't really, either, for the time being, as it also relied on dynamax. This also might need a semi gp check whenever the go-ahead is given.

Expand on what makes Fake Tears and Encore do, specifically. Fake Tears is great as it lets Whimsicott be non-helpless in offensive positions by being able to apply pressure and nab aggresive KOs with special attacking partners like Pult or Keld; Encore, while it can lock foes in status moves, is practically more notable for disincentivizing them (Protect, specifically). Rewrite the order of when FT + Encore show up vs. Taunt, Taunt should not be mentioned first since it's the slash.
