Suprisingly Fun

Have you ever had a game that you had low expectations for but ended up being really good, i have.

1. Mad World- This game is insane all the way throughout it.

2. Simpsons Hit'N'run- This game at first seemed like a cheap knockoff of GTA, but later throughout the game it was fun/funny

Any games that blew away your expectations, even negatively?

downloaded bonsai barber on easter with very low expectations. reviews were, for the most part, positive, and i had a points card so i thought "ah, why the hell not?" downloaded and after a few days i loved it. very quirky and cute, and although my first play was nice, the only thing i could nitpick about was how extremely easy it was; and fortunately, the next day i found a nice big jump in difficulty. i found out not too long ago that it was developed by zoonami, the same team that developed goldeneye 007 and my jaw dropped.

but yeah, get bonsai barber. very addictive.

Pokemon Snap. I thought I was going to hate it at first since it was just taking pictures, and the main character was not Ash. Now I am hoping a second one will be released (of course this will never happen).

Kameo. The game came with my Xbox360 and I thought it was going to suck especially after I read some of the online comments. I actually enjoyed it though only because I am fond of transformation powers.

CaveStory. Not that I actually expected it to be bad, but I thought it was going to be just another highly overrated game. I loved it and I am going to get the WiiWare version. Thank god they let you switch to the old music while keeping the new graphics. I prefer the old music to that horrible Midi they are using.

On the flip side we have Hey You Pikachu! I thought it was going to be amazing because you could talk to Pikachu and give it commands. I ended up ripping my hair out of my skull trying to get Pikachu to follow even a simple command like "Thunderbolt!"
