Hello and welcome in the Tera Index for SV RU ! This generation has made teambuilding even more complexe than it already is by implementing Tera types, this thread is here to hopefully ease your way into RU by giving you everything you should know about how Tera is used here. However, don't expect to find all the Teras used by all the players here, you will certainly come across very unexpected Teras which is just how Scarlet & Violet goes sometimes. This Index will follow the Viability Rankings to display the Tera(s) used on all the Pokemon present on them.

Tera Dark should be on Bisharp, its not too common, but is still a notable tera type to boost sucker punch power.
Tera Ice is great on Cetitan to boost the power of ice shard or ice spinner. Tera Fire is also and option on it to avoid will-o-wisp from talong/geezing, but it is def niche.
Tera Dark should be on Chansey. IMO, its the default tera type as it means it can answer psyshock users such as Armarouge.
Tera Steel should be on Gallade. Resists flying mainly, and also avoids toxic. Was featured on Canard's RMT team.
Tera Dark should be on Lycanroc Dusk. Boosts the power of either crunch or sucker punch in order to things such as OHKO slowbro at +2 with sucker.
Tera Fairy should be on Magnezone. A good defensive typing it gives, and annihilates Cyclizar if it chooses to run tera blast.
Tera Fire is a potential one on Mimikyu. Makes Weezing Galar and Talonflame setup opportunities instead of walls. Bit niche, so understand if this isn't included.
Tera Ground should be on Ninteales Alola. Tera Blast Ground A-tales is its defining set, with its ability to rip apart steels that usually wall it.
Tera Normal is a potential one on Noivern. This is primarily for specs sets, but this turns noivern into a nuke. But specs has fallen off recently.
Tera Dragon should be on Registeel. Resists both water and fire, making it a great answer to weather, while having none of its usual weaknesses. Tera Water is also another option for it that performs similar functions, but is weak to electric moves.
Tera Steel should be on Torterra. Resists most of its usual weaknesses while being immune to poison.
Tera Ghost should be on Volcanion. Mainly due to its immunity to Seismic toss, meaning it can beat chansey. Also makes it immune to fighting moves allowing it get off a large attack reliably.
Tera Fire could potentially be on Horoark. This is really only on flamethrower sets, which boosts its power and means it can take something like a cyclizar knock off in a pinch.

yeah i agree with heatranator's post, particularly aboutand,isn't clicking tera ghost most of the time, it doesn't let you beat any wall, nor shadow sneak some frailer mons that would barely live it because it's atk is that underwhelming, even with life orb, tera fire however lets you completely sit on mons that previously beat you and at +3 which you can get for free if you tera fire on aorand swords dance twice, which finally boosts your offense to a point where shadow sneak can beat the offensive mons and shadow claw can threaten the walls and, odds are if they run aor athey won't have another physical wall making you into a potent sweeper that can clean games, something that tera ghost fails to do

Tera steel onis the best tera IMO because it does NOT need more power, night slash is already 2 shotting every psychic type except maybe slowbro, your stabs are already nukes that demolishes offensive mons and take big chuncks of health out of bulkier mons like,andand leaf blade already 2 shotsand one shots most grounds, which is kinda all you use it for, so a defensive typing makes sense and steel combines with your base typing well defensively and is awesome at punishing speed control options that would beat you, you only take 50% from's brave bird letting you one shot it and if they decide to u-turn to scout for tera odds are you still get a kill and once it does come back it will have to lock itself into close combat which is very abuseable and it also makes you totally wallthanks to your good special bulk, only taking about 25% from moonblast and psychic, and if the opponent has a fatter team and it's speed control is down and youris still standing, you win

i also thinkshould have tera fairy simply to resist dark instead of being weak to it, letting you for example dynamic punchor

also tera figthing for, does what tera ground does but hitsandthe main special walls of the tier, it even lets you beat ! and doesn't make you weak to aqua jet and ice shard from the likes ofand

Rapid fire submissions based on personal experiences and observations:

-> Dark, for CM sets typically
-> Fire, for setting up easier vs Galarian Weezing
-> Fighting, boosted Dynamic Punch and resistance to Dark to trade easier vs Bisharp and Krookodile
-> Fairy, generally a good Tera on CM sets
-> Poison, arguably the best Tera for CM + Cloak sets
-> Dark, CM sets like Entei above
-> Fairy, generally good Tera to help stomach miscellaneous physical hits
-> Water, checks Mamoswine and Volcanion in one while being relatively safe overall
