VIOLENCE /// CLIMAX
...Like Antennas To Heaven

1. Introduction
I'm gonna get straight to the point.

STATUS UPDATE:

USER ID: ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ NUKE ENJOYER
LOCATION: ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ APPROACHING [GEN 9] BALANCED HACKMONS LADDER
CURRENT OBJECTIVE: ⠀ ⠀ FIND A CONSISTENT TEAM & PEAK LADDER
FAIRIES ARE DEAD.
CHANSEY IS FUEL.
LADDER IS FULL.

alright you can probably guess what I build this team for
:arceus-dragon:
To get consistent vs. ladder, I wanted something that could exploit all those do-nothing Shuckles, Toxapex's and Dondozos. Then I remembered Akira's MG Dragonceus set that they wiped me with a couple months back, adjusted it a bit then put it on.
:arceus-dragon: :eternatus:
Dragonceus was beaten by Fairies, so Eternatus was a no-brainer.
:arceus-dragon: :eternatus: :swampert-mega:
For more consistency vs. ladder, I wanted a RegenVest that's not passive as fuck, and this guy does it decently well. I also changed Eternatus to Regenerator + Spikes at this point for a double Regen core to really fuck up defensive mons.
:arceus-dragon: :eternatus: :swampert-mega: :dondozo:
If you only have room for a singular FC, Dondozo's the best IMO as it has decent MUs vs. everything (including Ash-Greninja which is the main reason why I chose this over Mega Slowbro) but especially ladder BS like Speed Boost Mega Blaziken.
:arceus-dragon: :eternatus: :swampert-mega: :dondozo: :zacian:
I didn't have room for Scales Fairyceus so Scales Zacian was the next best replacement.
:arceus-dragon: :eternatus: :swampert-mega: :dondozo: :chansey: :zacian:
It's been scientifically proven that laddering BH without Imposter Chansey is simply impossible.
:arceus-dragon: :eternatus: :swampert-mega: :dondozo: :chansey: :magearna:
Team was doing well until I realized opponents could freely Mortal Spin away Etern's Spikes, so Zacian was replaced by Magearna.

2. The team

:sv/arceus-dragon:
Death Without Life (Arceus-Dragon) @ Draco Plate
Ability: Magic Guard
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Judgment
- Blue Flare
- Strength Sap

Genuinely goes insane. Magic Guard + Dragon typing + good bulk + Knock Off immunity lets this guy straight up 1v1 some defensive mons like RegenVest Primal Kyogre. Nasty Plot allows for an easier selfproof as you won’t have to deal with Imp having SPDef boosts. Blue Flare mostly hits Mega Steelix and Mega Aggron because ladder is still obsessed with those guys & is a decent neutral attack otherwise.
This will be your main cleaner when their team is weakened, so use it as such. However, Magic Guard + Knock Off immunity still provides good defensive utility in the midgame.
Improof: Selfproofs, Chansey can also Sapblock or straight up remove it if needed.

:sv/eternatus:
Null Ouroboros (Eternatus) @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dragon Energy
- Sludge Bomb
- Spikes
- Volt Switch

Decently bulky Sapblocker, Poison/Toxic immune & the ultimate progress maker. Regen let’s this boldly stay in stray attacks like Mega Audino Moonblast without fear of getting sapblocked. Sludge Bomb, Spikes and Volt Switch when combined will make guaranteed progress versus most structures. Dragon Energy synergies with Regen, hits Imp and is a good STAB to smack random stuff with.
Improof: Mega Swampert, Chansey can wall but doesn't block Spikes or Volt.

:sv/swampert-mega:

Earthmover (Swampert-Mega) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Flip Turn
- Knock Off
- Mortal Spin
- Earthquake

Decently bulky RegenVest with good typing that works well with Dragon-type partners and very cool Attack stat to not be horribly passive. Mortal Spin provides good hazard removal with Earthquake smacking Steels who try to block it. Flip Turn maintains the volt-turn core & allows easy shuffling between Eternatus and itself. Knock Off knocks off, well, key items like Eviolite from Imp or Assault Vests on opposing RegenVests (who could've thought)
Improof: Dragonceus, Dondozo can also soft-Improof but only if absolutely necessary.

:sv/dondozo:
Defence System (Dondozo) @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Fur Coat
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Rapid Spin
- Strength Sap
- Flip Turn
- Scald

A sidegrade to Mega Slowbro that's more passive but doesn't instantly fail to Ash-Greninja. Rapid Spin is a secondary way of hazard control, Flip Turn maintains the volt-turn core, Strength Sap neutralizes attack boosts & is easier to improof, and Scald can catch unassuming physical attackers off guard. I don't really know how to describe something as straight forward as this better.
Improof: Chansey, both Eternatus and Dragonceus also takes nothing but still gives marginal Sap healing.

:sv/chansey:
War Without Reason (Chansey) (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Imposter
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Shore Up
- Block
- Topsy-Turvy
- Heal Bell
amogus.PNG
It’s Imposter.
Scout stuff, wall stuff, blanket check stuff, abuse their Regenerator-stuff. Also improofs Dragonceus.
yes the nickname is very intentional

:sv/magearna:
CRITICAL FAILURE (Magearna) @ Ability Shield
Ability: Ice Scales
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Moonblast
- Topsy-Turvy / Haze
- Parting Shot / Teleport
- Recover

The copest of copes. This serves as a decently bulky Ice Scales Fairy that blocks Mortal Spin; its typing also works well with Mega Swampert. Topsy-Turvy fucks up setup attempts (from mostly Take Heart Arceus formes) but I used Haze for most of my ladder run because of Good As Gold bullshit. Teleport is a more consistent slow-pivoting option, but Parting Shot allows Chansey’s Teleport to be slower and give you the advantage.
Improof: Chansey soft-Improofs, Eternatus doesn't do any damage back but sets up Spikes.

3. Threatlist

Selfproof speed boosting + Taunt sweepers

I played vs Taunt Speed Boost NP Ghostceus once and it instantly 6-0d and I literally couldn't even do anything

:life-orb: :necrozma-ultra:

You can defensively answer this short-term with Mega Swampert but best course of action is limiting it with Spikes or try to revenge with Eternatus.

:lunala: :arceus-ghost:

Do not let Imposter knocked & try to PP stall Ghostceus with it if it's SNR. If possible, try to bait Lunala's Final Gambit into Mega Swampert instead of Magearna.

5. Conclusion

1709296390867.png

Thanks to augustakira for both the MG Dragonceus and their RMT inspiring me to pick this up again after my draft got lost for no reason.
Overall, I'm pretty happy I got to be #1 on any ladder at a point (though I'll probably try to do it with a 100% fresh account next time)

I used to play this format before the dlc so much, and I’m definitely gonna try it out now after this. How does double imposter match up into this team?
