SWAG!

WUZZZZAP GUYS

This is my first rmt, so please be patient.so here goes.
The current record ranking for this team is rank 19 on the pokemon showdown UU ladder.
and that without stealth rocks (suck it destinyunknown).

teambuilding process

i wanted to use Tangrowth for this team because he`s a underrated physical wall (more physical bulk than skarmory) and has support options like leech seed, knock off and sleep powder.

then i figured i needed a special wall, so i chose Snorlax because its great hp, atk and SpDef. it can act as a sweeper with curse and also has near to perfect defensive synergy with Tangrowth

Then i needed a Revenge Killer, and Darmanitan seemed the perfect fit, seeing as the only thing holding it back was its speed. It also destroys half the tier with a STAB Flare Blitz.

I wanted to have priority on my team, so i chose choice band Azumarill. it worked really well and it completed my fire-water.grass core.

I went through a wide variety of physical sweepers for this team including Zangoose, swords dance heracross, swords dance bisharp..... the list just goes on and on. but this thing works the best out of all of them. its typing leaves much to be desired, but its way above average Special bulk and speed makes it very easy to set up a swords dance and sweep.

Now all i needed was a special sweeper with good coverage and typing. Nidoking was the incarnation of my wishes. great coverage, immunity to toxic and paralysis and DA POWER!! make up this great pokemon.
Now let`s get on with the sets

Tangrowth_by_Xous54.png

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder

This thing is plain awesome. It has MASSIVE physical bulk, Regenerator, decent attacking stats and access to Leech Seed and Sleep powder.
Leech Seed, Sleep Powder and giga drain should be self-explanitory, and knock off is for dealing with eviolite users, as well as walls, who miss leftovers recovery. I dont have a Hidden Power on this thing, because Knock Off pretty much cripples gligar or scarf flygon.

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 92 Atk / 252 HP / 164 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Return
- Rest
- Curse

My Special wall. If you allow this thing to get up 2-3 curses up, (which is very easy to do by the the way) you´re pretty much doomed. After 3 Boosts scarfed Heracross fails to 2HKO it with a close combat and is easily OHKOed by return. Return is for STAB and hits a lot of things for neutral damage and earthquake is for coverage. I run rest over fire punch to deal with status and to recover damage. I know, that this thing is walled by mismagius and Bronzong, but i can PWN them both with Darmanitan and Azumarill.

555.png

Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- U-turn

Best Revenge Killer in the Tier. This thing annihilates half the tier with a STAB Flare Blitz coming off 412 Attack. the IVs are self-explanitory and i chose U-Turn over superpower for scouting. I often lead with this thing and just U-Turn out, often getting the switch advantage in the process. Rock Slide deals with Tornadus and other flying types in the tier and Earthquake is for fire and Rock Types types.

184.png

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Trait: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Superpower
- Ice Punch
- Waterfall

Don`t let the looks of this cute Bunny fool you. Behind the cute smile lies a outstanding ability in huge power, doubling Azumarills attack stat. couple this with good bulk and youve got yourself a perfect choice band user, which hits 654 attack with an adamant nature, max attack and a choice band attached. Aqua jet is for priority and Waterfall is a powerful STAB attack that hits anything that doesnt resist it ridiculousley hard. superpower was chosen over brick break and double-edge because it gives azumarill the ability to OHKO registeel. Ice punch annihilates flygon and gliscor.

EDIT APPROACHING!!

560.png

Scrafty @ Lum Berry
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Drain Punch
- Crunch
- Ice Punch

I chose scrafty over virizion because of its more balanced bulk and better coverage in Its STAB moves Crunch and drain punch, access to Dragon dance and because of its great ability:Moxie. Drain punch was chosen over hi jump kick to grant more longevity and works much better. Crunch is the obvious secondary STAB of choice and grants near perfect coverage that is only resisted by heracross. Ice punch is, once again for gligar and flygon.

034.png

Nidoking (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

LO Nidoking is a MONSTER! don`t let its bad SpeAtk fool you, because Sheer Force+Life Orb boosts its attacks by monstrous 60% without any side effects, because activated sheer force negates Life Orb recoil, which is amazing. the only thing holding it back is its mediocre/bad speed, but it can get over that with some team support.
it has Earth Power as it's primary STAB that deals with Registeel and Cobalion, as well as hurting Fire types such as Chandelure and Darmanitan. Flamethrower is a 100% accuracy fire move that wrecks havoc against Bronzong who Nidoking normally can't touch, while also providing coverage against Heracross on the switch, and Roserade. thunderbolt and icebeam make up the BoltBeam combo and provide unresisted coverage for nidoking. also thunderbolt wrecks suicune, milotic and slowbro, who would completeley wall this team otherwise.

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 92 Atk / 164 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Return
- Rest
- Curse

Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- U-turn

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Superpower
- Ice Punch
- Waterfall

Scrafty @ Lum Berry
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Drain Punch
- Crunch
- Ice Punch

Nidoking (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
This ends my First RMT on smogon. thank you for taking the time to read it. Feel free to post improvements to this team in the comments.thank you.
PS: i know, that this team lacks rocks, but i dont really miss them, cos my pokes are either PWRFUL or can boost their stats.

Hey man pretty nice team you have here!

One thing I see is a pretty big scarfed Heracross weakness. He can pretty much 6-0 your team, and can out speed your Darmanitan since most carry a Jolly nature. To fix this up a bit, I would recommend a Jolly Nature > Adamant on your Darmanitan. This will allow you to switch into Darmanitan when you get a free switch, and OHKO it with Flare Blitz. Yes you lose out on raw power, but Darmanitan is powerful anyway, and without being able to effectively revenge kill Heracross, your team is screwed.

Also Sludge Wave on Nidoking, although his most powerful STAB, is only 5 BP higher than Earth Power, and only hits Grass types for super effective damage. I would go with Fire Blast > Sludge Wave Fire Blast makes Nidoking's coverage even better, and it can now touch Steel types like Bronzong who normally wall it, while still hitting Grass, and Bug types.

That's all I've got for now. Good luck on your team!

Hey Bob64,

This team seems decent, but it has some big flaws that need to be fixed. The main weakness of your team is dealing with Fighting type pokemon, as you have simply no way of stopping Mienshao or Heracross (among others), which means they can tear your team apart with little trouble. Something you could do to fix this would be using Cofagrigus instead of Tangrowth, which seems like the most replaceable member of your team. Cofagrigus is a solid Fighting type counter, which can easily stop Mienshao and Heracross on their tracks, while also being able to act as a offensive pokemon thanks to Nasty Plot and Trick Room.

Cofagrigus@Leftovers | Mummy
Quiete Nature | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Nasty Plot / Shadow Ball / Hidden Power Fighting / Trick Room

Another thing that your team lacks is a Stealth Rock settler. Stealth Rock is the best entry hazard of the game, and is arguably the best move on competitive pokemon. The reason to use Stealth Rock, anyway, is that it prevents dangerous pokemon, especially those weak to Rock, such as Zapdos or Darmanitan, from switching freely. It also helps your sweepers to get easier KOs as well. The best way of fitting Stealth Rock on your team would be replacing Thunderbolt with it. I would also replace Sacred Sword with Close Combat on Virizion, as it needs as much power as possible when trying to take down defensive pokemon, as well as giving it a Lum Berry as the item, to allow it set up against pokemon using Scald that it should be switching into.

@destinyunknown My darmanitan already deals with scarf heracross because i changed its nature to jolly. I probably wont be changing tangrowth, because its pretty much the perfect mienshao counter. Ill try out stealth rocks on nidoking snd cc on virizion. Thanks for the feedback so far

Personally, I would change Azumarill's superpower to brick break. I have an Azumarill on my monowater with waterfall, ice punch, aqua jet and brick break.

@ Celever why Brick Break? W/ a CB after one Superpower its removes the added power from the CB and it hits ALOT harder. He can safely fire off 2 superpowers, w/o haveing to worry about the attack drop. and Azum is pretty bulkie, so the Def drop will hurt, but it wont be that bad.

By the way dude, would you do us raters a favor and expand your descriptions a bit? Talk about why you chose each move, and the main thing they cover. For example:

Nidoking has Earth Power as it's primary STAB that deals with Registeel and Cobalion, as well as hurting Fire types such as Chandelure and Darmanitan. Flamethrower is a 100% accuracy fire move that wrecks havoc against Bronzong who Nidoking normally can't touch, while also providing coverage against Heracross on the switch, and Roserade.

More people will rate you that way so they can make a better rate, and you may get a Luvdisc or two.
