"Sweep-Stake" - An NU Sweep Team

Here's a fun, fast and hellishly deadly team that I have had in the works for a while, and has finally been finished. Its effectively "blitzkriegy" way of play has destroyed quite a few oppositions. All of these have been IV bred as well, and they are listed below the EV's. An NU Full offensive team, or "Sweep-stake":

persian.png

Lead: Persian @ Life Orb - Xerxes
Technician
Jolly Nature (+speed,-spec attk)
252 Attk - 252 Speed - 4 HP
Attk IV
- Fake Out
- Bite
- Taunt
- U-Turn

Fake Out Lead. Kings Rock to attempt to increase flinch ratio. Tactic to Fake out, taunt to prevent set up, then U-Turn away to get a type advantage/super effective moves. Bite exist to hit ghosts hard with technician boost, and to benefit well from the Kings Rock. Basic Sweeper EV spread, Focus Sash could be considered for ability to survive an attack on turn of Taunt. Technician STAB Fake out is a potentially lethal tool, its just unfortunate that U-Turn isn't 10 power less.

floatzel.png

Floatzel @ Life Orb - Richtofen
Swift Swim
Jolly Nature (+Attk,-Spec Attk)
40 HP - 252 Attk - 216 Speed
Speed IV
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Brick Break
- Crunch

An all round sweeper. With current moveset, it can hit super on 13 of the 17 types, and normal on the 4 others, Waterfall being its main STAB. Due to Floatzel's superb speed and attack stats, it seemed a waste not to exploit this. Again, I chose a sweeper set up, but this guy is the king of the castle.

pinsir.png

Pinsir @ Life Orb - Rasputin
Mold Breaker
Adamant Nature (+Attk,-Spec Attk)
252 Attk - 252 Speed - 4 HP
Attack IV
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide/Stone Edge
- X-Scissor

Poor, poor Pinsir, resigned to being the slowest in the team, although not superbly tough, it is leagues above the rest of the team. With Swords Dance, he can sweep with powerful moves after surviving previous hits, as he is still not slow. Pinsir can really shine in NU, and I want to make him as bright as possible.

raichu.png

Raichu @ Life Orb - Cleopatra
Static
Modest Nature (+Spec attk,-Attk)
252 Spec Attk - 252 Speed - 4 HP
Special Attack IV
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Grass Knot
- Nasty Plot >:)

Special Sweeper. Thunderbolt is a powerful STAB, whilst Grass Knot kills Rock/Grounds / Steelix and Focus Blast hits Rock and Ice, so relatively good type coverage. Walled by frequent special walls, such as Blissey or Regice, however very dangerous to those who don't wall it.

jumpluff.png

Jumpluff @ Leftovers - Teresa
Chlorophyll
Timid Nature (+Speed,-Attk)
252 Speed - 188 Def - 68 Spec Def
Special Defence IV
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder
- U-Turn
- Substitute

Well, to cover resistances and to have some fun through embarassment, Jumpluff brings a speedy Subseeder/Team Supporter to my ranks. Making it as fast and "sturdy :/" as possible allows it to take slight punishment that are the hazards of setting up. The Light Clay will be useful, as most of my party are about as sturdy as a slice of cake, and need some screen support.

charizard.png

Charizard @ Expert Belt - Boudicca
Blaze
Modest Nature (+Spec Attk,-Attk)
252 Spec Attk - 252 Speed - 4 HP
Speed IV
- Flamethrower
- Air Slash
- Focus Blast
- Roost

Another more sturdy team member, it can deal out high damage with powerful STABs and willl potentially have a support move that will give great benefit to the remaining team members. Focus Blast is there to cover weaknesses to Rock and help extinguish threatening Rock/Steel Types. Roost gives a restore from SR damage

Right, I realise this is by no means perfect, but some choices and opinions must be made, therefore i'm throwing it into the frying pan, as it were...

Enjoy!

I don't see what King's Rock does for Persian, as Fake Out always flinches the target.
I'd use Life Orb, as Persian isn't really known for her beastly offense, so anything will help to beef her up.
Charizard/Pinsir/Jumpluff are all weak to Stealth Rock's pointed stones, so I'd say either you must have a Spinner, e.g. Sandslash, or you'd want to alter a bit of your team.

You're much better off with Life Orb on Persian for more power, as the only ghosts in NU are pretty physically fragile and the power boost is just better in general. Also, you'll really want Stealth Rock to help with things like Magmortar and Typhlosion who can hurt your team.
Edit: Ninja'd
I'd also suggest lefties on jumpluff to get more subs with lefties+leech seed and u-turn over reflect, because jumpluff doesn't usually care about the defense because it's behind subs and likes to stay in and stall things out.

All-righty then, Kings Rock was for the Bite, which up its 30% flinch rate by some, however in hindsight the Life Orb is a better option.

The Reflect on the Jumpluff is for my teams general squishyness, but the proper Subseed stall is probably a better option.

I still have a decision about Charizard's final move, as i have no idea which would be more beneficial.

Your team looks alright but it's bit to offensive. Maybe chuck in a bulky water in there?

I suggest running Jolly Floatzel to outspeed nearly everything and run a bulk up set (for more power)

Persian wants Life orb or Focus Sash. Kings rock isn't that useful when Fake Out always flinches anyway, and I believe it doesnt' stack with Bite's flinch rate.

Floatzel @ Life Orb
Swift Swim
Jolly Nature
252 Attk - 252 Speed - 4 HP
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch / Aqua Jet
- Return
- Bulk Up

For Pinsir maybe run Choice Scarf to revenge faster threats you can't outspace.

Raichu doesn't want Focus Sash because Focus Sash outside lead position is utterly useless because entry hazards. (which everybody utilizes)

As for Charizard, maybe run Life Orb for a lot more juice, and drop Dragon Pulse for roost. (that nasty 4X SR weak might screw you over) in fact, I wouldn't even run Zard without proper rapid spin report because SR can really hinder him. (and the other SR weak pokemon in your team) Consider running another sweeper (Magmortar/Typhlosion etc) or consider building your team around Charizard.

Hope I helped.

This team needs major changing (no offense)

Persian: Looks fine now with life orb (lol@kingsrockbeingbanned)

Floatzel: I would consider running aqua jet > brick break to help you pick off those weakened pokemon that outspeed you. I would also suggest switching to a jolly nature with 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 spe so you can outspeed max speed espeon and OHKO with crunch

Pinsir: Uhhh i really don't know what you were trying to do with the EVs and the item, but you need to change them. Run Life Orb with a jolly nature and an EV spread of 252 Atk / 252 Spe.

Raichu: Looks fine. If you're really having trouble getting past regice, use focus blast > HP ice. Oh and change to life orb because you have no phazer.

Jumpluff: Just change the EVs to: 188 Def / 68 SpD / 252 Spe. It's standard for a reason :/

Charizard: Again, i have no idea what you are doing with the EVs. Just go with 252 SpA and 252 Spe. Or, as PK Gaming mentioned, drop charizard on this team. Without spin support, charizard really wont be doing much without roost. Go with expert belt magmortar that ice-eyes uses:
Magmortar @ Expert Belt
Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
Flame Body
4 Def/252 Spe/252 SpA
Fire Blast
Thunderbolt
Focus Blast
Hidden Power (Grass)

*note: this is not on smogon and is Ice-eyes's set*

This thing is an absolute monster late game. If you can bluff scarf throughout the game, you will pretty much have it won if you decide to switch moves late game. It will most likely kill everything that is slower than it, while having enough bulk to take a hit or too. The good part about this set is that you wont have to worry about LO recoil or not being able to change moves on a pokemon.

Oh and another thing i have noticed is that in your descriptions, you mention OU and UU pokemon as being threats. Is this team designed to play in the upper tiers? If so, you should mention that in the OP. If not, i strongly recommend you change that soon as it could confuse some users.

With Pinsir and Charizard, I wanted to have something that could take hits, as well as being fast and deadly. However, I will, despite this, switch to sweeper EV spreads and give Pinsir a Choice Scarf, as PK Gaming suggested. Charizard will also change, and Roost will be the final move, as I really don't want to include Magmortar, despite its described lethality.

Floatzel deserves a change of Nature and EV spread, however the moveset will stay the same, anything that outspeeds it should be rather squidgy, thats for the input, however.

I see what you mean with Jumpluff....

Yes, thanks for the input there Brawler, however I really wonder how i'm going to get hold of all these Life Orbs.... :/

Okay, I was just lurking around the RMTs, and I notice your team. Well for one thing, you have a bad set up with that there Pinsir, my friend. Having a Choice Scarf coupled with Swords Dance? I don't think that's necessarily smart, unless you are trying to bluff with the Life Orb Sweeper set. Instead, if you plan on running the Scarf, use Close Combat for coverage. That, or you can run Life Orb with Swords Dance and drop the Close Combat. But remember, you can't run a scarf set with a set up move (unless it's Lopunny or if the Pokemon has Trick).
