Monotype Swords Dance Lokix (Bug) [QC: 2/2] [GP: 1/1]

[SET]
Lokix @ Life Orb / Heavy-Duty Boots
Name: Swords Dance (Bug)
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- First Impression / Leech Life
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off

[SET COMMENTS]

Thanks to Tinted Lens, Swords Dance Lokix can break through the sturdiest walls the tier has to offer such as Toxapex and Gliscor. Although First Impression can only be used once per switch-in, it remains a solid option to revenge kill Roaring Moon and Ogerpon-W. Conversely, Leech Life forgoes the priority effect for consistency, being able to 2HKO Toxapex and defensive Gouging Fire at +2. Sucker Punch OHKOes Choice Specs Dragapult, Latios, and Choice Scarf Iron Boulder while also OHKOing Meowscarada and Greninja at +2. Lastly, Knock Off deals with Gholdengo, can OHKO specially defensive Heatran and Hisuian Goodra at +2 with Stealth Rock up, and removes Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers from walls such as Toxapex and Archaludon. Heavy-Duty Boots can be chosen to improve Lokix's longevity and let it switch in multiple times, although its raw power will be hampered in the process. An Adamant nature lets Lokix secure an OHKO on Barraskewda with First Impression, as well as OHKOing specially defensive Corviknight with Knock Off at +2 after Stealth Rock, but this comes at the cost of being outsped by Ceruledge, Jolly Mamoswine, and Great Tusk.

Lokix benefits much from its teammates breaking holes in the opposing team. Thanks to Bullet Punch and great physical coverage options in Close Combat and Trailblaze, Scizor can lead the offensive in matchups that Lokix struggles with such as Fairy and Rock as well as be a driving force in the Steel matchup. In return, Lokix helps Scizor to break the Steel defensive core by taking care of Gholdengo. Choice Scarf Kleavor supports Lokix's rampage with Stone Axe and provides an edge in the Fire matchup by wrecking Volcarona, Cinderace, and Ninetales. Bulky Quiver Dance Volcarona is an incredible teammate for Lokix, as it can set up on Pokemon that would otherwise prove deadly for Lokix such as Skarmory and Iron Hands, spread burns to physical attackers to facilitate Lokix's setup, and swiftly remove opposing Scizor and Archaludon. Similarly, Frosmoth can set up on special sweepers that Lokix cannot reliably OHKO like Raging Bolt, Kyurem, and non-Choice Specs Flutter Mane, eliminating the physical walls that would prevent Lokix from sweeping in the process. Being prone to entry hazard damage, Lokix appreciates Forretress's ability to remove them from the field. Forretress also supports Lokix by setting up Spikes and slow pivoting in Lokix while being bulky enough to come in on opposing Lokix. Araquanid is another key support Pokemon for Lokix, as it can set Sticky Web to let Lokix outspeed Choice Scarf Kleavor as well as checking Volcarona and Ninetales and KO them back. Other Sticky Web users include Galvantula and Ribombee. Galvantula improves the Water matchup with its access to Energy Ball to hit Swampert and Gastrodon, while Ribombee comes with a solid Speed tier to guarantee Sticky Web setup and the ability to paralyze targets.

Thanks to Tinted Lens, Swords Dance Lokix can break through the sturdiest walls the tier has to offer such as Toxapex and Gouging Fire (maybe not gouger, gliscor doesnt seem that bad a replacement). Although First Impression can only be used once per switch-in, it remains a solid option to revenge kill Roaring Moon and Greninja(swap one for ogerpon-w, and note that it actually does a meaty amount of damage, OHKOing Barraskewda after SR). Conversely, Leech Life foregoes the priority effect for consistency, being able to 2HKO Toxapex and defensive Gouging Fire at +2. Sucker Punch OHKOes Choice Specs Dragapult, Latios, and Choice Scarf Iron Boulder while 2HKOing Ogerpon-H and Roaring Moon (not really that needed, can mention meow calc at +2 tho, so it just effectively cleans dark for instance). Lastly, Knock Off deals with Gholdengo and Ceruledge (use a diff ghost, and mention that removing items from walls in general is kinda cool), and can OHKO specially defensive Heatran and Hisuian Goodra with Rocks up at +2. Heavy-Duty Boots can be chosen to improve its longevity and let him come in and out on the field, although its raw power will be hampered in the process.(mention jolly vs adamant, adamant has just funny calcs like OHKOing barra 100% of the time, killing corv at +2]

Being prone to hazard damage, Lokix appreciates Forretress's ability to remove the entry hazards from the field. Forretress also supports Lokix in other ways through setting up Spikes and slow pivoting on Lokix while being bulky enough to come on opposing Lokix. Araquanid is another key support for Lokix, as it can set Sticky Web to let Lokix outspeed even Dragapult (not that convincing since you can just sucker this, mayne someone else instead?) and can also check and KO back Volcarona and Ninetales. Other Sticky Web users include Galvantula and Ribombee. Galvantula improves the Water matchup with its access to Energy Ball to hit Swampert and Gastrodon, while Ribombee grants the team a useful Dragon immunity(put this very later on, and bee's draw is likely just being really fast to paralyze someone over a dragon immune. Focus on offensive team mate first, then forry, then this). On an offensive perspective, Lokix benefits much from the holes its teammates can create in the opposing team. Thanks to its great physical coverage moves options like Dual Wingbeat, Close Combat, and Trailblaze, Scizor can lead the offensive in matchups more complicated for Lokix such as in the Fairy and Rock matchups. In return, Lokix helps Scizor to break the Steel defensive core by taking care of Gholdengo. Choice Scarf Kleavor supports Lokix's rampage with Stone Axe and gets the edge in the Fire matchup by wrecking Volcarona, Cinderace, and Ninetales. Bulky Quiver Dance Volcarona is an incredible teammate for Lokix, as it can setup on Pokemon that would otherwise prove deadly for Lokix such as Skarmory and Iron Hands, spread burns to physical attackers to facilitate Lokix's setup, and can swiftly remove opposing Scizor and Archaludon. Lastly, Frosmoth can setup on special sweepers that Lokix cannot reliably OHKO like Raging Bolt, Kyurem, and Flutter Mane, eliminating in the process the physical walls that would prevent Lokix from sweeping.

"Adamant secures OHKO on Barraskewda with First Impression and can OHKO Corviknight with Knock Off at +2, but comes at the cost of being outspeeded by Ceruledge, Jolly Mamoswine, and Great Tusk."

- Mention the corviknight to be specially defensive as physical def covi does not drop at +2.

"Thanks to its great physical coverage moves options like Dual Wingbeat, Close Combat, and Trailblaze, Scizor can lead the offensive in matchups more complicated for Lokix such as in the Fairy and Rock matchups. In return, Lokix helps Scizor to break the Steel defensive core by taking care of Gholdengo."

- The way how im reading this is the coverage moves is helping in those two matchups, but even then you just +2 b punch both matchups, unless ur referring to other matchups those coverage moves actually help with. If only talking about rock and fairy i was just talk about +2 b punch deleting those matchups for lokix.

"Frosmoth can setup on special sweepers that Lokix cannot reliably OHKO like Raging Bolt, Kyurem, and non-Choice Specs Flutter Mane"

- specify non specs; Choice Specs Mane just destroys moth with P Gem

QC 2/2 after implements, good job :Arcanine:

(any walls examples?) Heavy-Duty Boots can be chosen to improve its Lokix's longevity and let him come it switch in and out on the field multiple times, although its raw power will be hampered in the process. (life orb is slashed before boots, but you haven't mentioned it a all. add a sentence about it before you talk about boots) An Adamant secures nature lets Lokix secure an OHKO on Barraskewda with First Impression, (AC) as well as OHKOing and can OHKO specially defensive Corviknight with Knock Off at +2 after Stealth Rock, but this comes at the cost of being outspeeded outsped by Ceruledge, Jolly Mamoswine, and Great Tusk.

Lokix benefits much from the holes its teammates can create breaking holes in the opposing team. Choice Scarf Kleavor supports Lokix's rampage with Stone Axe and gets the provides an edge in the Fire matchup by wrecking Volcarona, Cinderace, and Ninetales. On its the other hand, (I think you mean this?) Frosmoth can setup set up on special sweepers that Lokix cannot reliably OHKO like Raging Bolt, Kyurem, and non-Choice Specs Flutter Mane, eliminating in the process the physical walls that would prevent Lokix from sweeping in the process. Being prone to entry hazard damage, Lokix appreciates Forretress's ability to remove entry hazards them from the field. Other Sticky Web users include Galvantula and Ribombee. Galvantula improves the Water matchup with its access to Energy Ball to hit Swampert and Gastrodon, while Ribombee comes with a solid speedtier Speed tier to guarantee Sticky Web set up setup and can the ability to paralyze targets.
