[SET COMMENTS]
A high Attack stat, above-average Speed, and near-perfect STAB combination along with Swords Dance make Terrakion a fearsome wallbreaker for Fighting-type teams. Swords Dance boosts Terrakion's already good Attack stat to even further levels, allowing it to shred apart defensive Pokemon such as Vileplume and Corviknight after some chip damage. Close Combat is its most reliable STAB move and should be used most of the time, as it hits hard with no real drawbacks. It is also used to hit Ground- and Steel-type Pokemon like Hippowdon and Ferrothorn. Stone Edge takes care of troublesome Flying-type Pokemon such as Togekiss and Pelipper. Earthquake is used to damage Pokemon such as Aegislash and Toxapex in a more reliable way. Rock Polish doubles Terrakion's Speed stat, allowing it to outspeed Pokemon such as Cinderace, Modest Alolan Raichu in Electric Terrain, and Choice Scarf Dragapult. Rock Polish helps Terrakion sweep teams effectively in conjunction with Swords Dance while also making it a late-game cleaner once its checks and counters are weakened enough. Against defensive teams like Poison, Terrakion should prioritize setting up Swords Dance to wallbreak, whereas against offensive types like Electric and Dragon, Rock Polish should be prioritized to clean late-game, as such offensive types lack defensive backbone. Lum Berry is used to ensure that defensive Pokemon such as Toxapex and Torkoal cannot cripple Terrakion with status moves for a turn, and it also helps against Toxic Spikes once, if needed.
All of Terrakion's teammates appreciate its wallbreaking support for the team. Other setup sweepers like Hawlucha, and Lucario are great teammates, as they all weaken each other's checks and counters while taking care of Grass- and Fairy-type threats like Vileplume and Gardevoir, respectively. Lucario with Dark Pulse can be used to deal with Aegislash if Terrakion has Rock Polish over Earthquake. Urshifu-S can wallbreak with a Choice Band or Bulk Up set to take care of Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokemon like Dragapult and Indeedee, while Heracross appreciates Terrakion's wallbreaking capabilities to clean teams late-game with a Choice Scarf and Moxie . Keldeo forms a great wallbreaking core with Terrakion, as it can take care of bulky Ground-types like Hippowdon and Gastrodon and stop defensive Pokemon with Taunt. Kommo-o can be a mixed sweeper to open up holes mid- or late-game; it also deals with Scizor and Aegislash with Flamethrower for the team. Cobalion can utilize a Choice Scarf set to cover faster Pokemon that Terrakion cannot handle without Rock Polish like Alolan Ninetales. Alternatively, Cobalion can utilize a support set providing Terrakion with Stealth Rock, Taunt, and Thunder Wave support. Conkeldurr can provide Terrakion with Defog support, as it is susceptible to all forms of entry hazards, especially Sticky Web, undermining its potential to wallbreak or clean late-game.
