IN DEPTH:

96px-700Sylveon.png

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball

I was watching Haydunn and his Sylveon Steveee and saw how ineffective his set was. It was a special wall, and while it did completely tank special attacks, it didn't do much else. I looked at its stats and had very nice special defense and special attack. Slap max hp and max defense on it and you have a great candidate for a sub calm mind set. When I first thought of the set and then read about others using it it seemed like it was just alright. I was wrong. In most of my battles Sylveons kills about 3 pokemon. You wouldn't believe the amount of Sylveon sweeps I've had. Part because people don't know how to play Sylveon yet and part because it's a good pokemon.

96px-663Talonflame.png

Talonflame @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Swords Dance
- Brave Bird

I'm thinking about changing Life Orb for Sharp Beak or some other flying type attacking move. This is a standard Talonflame, late game sweeper/revenge killer. It's a little risky but I"ve also used it as a Will-o-Wisp sponge. When I put Rotom-W on this team it was specifically to counter Talonflame but I noticed after a Swords Dance Brave Bird does about 46-55% and will 2HKO a max HP max Def Rotom-W after stealth rock/sandstorm.

128px-Mega_Tyranitar.png

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Dance

I know this set is messed up. I think dragon dance should switch for a coverage move. Tyranitar is one of the special pokemon on this team. It is a Talonflame counter, pursuit trapper, and I needed a mega. Basically when Talonflame comes in, simply switch in Tyranitar which can easily take a Flare Blitz or Brave Bird, and use pursuit because there is no reason for Talonflame to stay in. A pursuit from a max ATK Mega Tyranitar will do 80-90% and when they switch out set up Stealth Rock if you can and that is a dead Talonflame.

96px-479Rotom-Wash.png

Rotom-Wash @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Spd / 252 Def / 252 HP
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Trick

I'm not really sure what this does. Maybe it hasn't done much because until I made this thread I hadn't realized it's EVs were 8 SpD and 4SpAtk. It is a good offensive pivot and Volt Switcher. I don't have much to say about this because I never really use it. It is on the team as a Talonflame counter but like i said before a Swords Dance Talonflame can 2HKO a Rotom-W so I'm not too sure about that.

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Flash Cannon

This pokemon was put on the team originally as a partner for Tyrantrum. Since then I have ditched Tyrantrum and kept the Magnezon becuase it's done a good job. Its great for a pivot, it absorbs Thunder Waves, and it traps steel types. It stops Ferrothorn from getting up more than 1 hazard and it is a pretty good check to Klefki even though i haven't faced much of them. I have gotten some surprise kills from it because It was scarfed and people didn't expect it to be.

Breloom @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Rock Slide
- Spore

This was a set I came up with because i was tired of Smeargles ruining my chances. It can absorb Spore, break through a sash with Bullet Seed, and carries Rock Slide for the Talonflame switch in. It had to be Scarfed because Smeargle would outspeed it otherwise. I'm not sure about Mach Punch but Spore has come into use on the Scarfed set.
