I have been meaning too create a mostly UU or lower team but didn't realy have a place to start. Therefore I decided too make a team in honor of the people that maintain the box storage system, used by trainers worldwide!
The pokemon are picked based on the bulbapedia entries and a bit of interpertration. I wanted to use the games as a basis but because most give away an eevee and I don't want an eeveelution team I also picked pokemon seen in the manga. Of course all pokemon are fully evolved, this isn't a little cup team.
My list of candidate pokemon is as follows:
Bill - Eevee
Lanette - <none> (maybe Shiftry or Ludicolo because of the dolls she gives away)
Brigette - Altaria, Linoone, Delcatty, Pikachu/Raichu, Celebi
Celio - Jumpluff
Bebe - Eevee, Purugly
Cassius - I found Scrafty fitting
Amanita - Eevee, Watchog
Other possibilities are:
Hayley - Phione, Mew
Clemont - Heliolisk
The first version of the team I made is:
Bebe (Purugly) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Speed
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- U-Turn
- Super Fang
- Shadow Claw
A standard scout set. Persian can probably do it just as well, if not better. Fake Out followed by U-Turn do some damage before I switch into something better. If I'm up against something bulky or if I feel Bebe has done her job I can use Super Fang to do some nice damage before usually going down. Shadow Claw is against ghost types but it is generally more usefull to U-Turn out.
Bill (Espeon) (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Sp.Atk / 252 Speed
Timid Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Psyshock
- Yawn
For the evolution of the Eevee Bill gives you in Goldenrod I picked Espeon. The reason is that I don't have a rappid spinner but hope to work around it with magic bounce. Besides that espeon can provide screen support for the other members and can hopefully force a switch by yawning at opponents how try to set up.
Celio (Jumpluff) (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Sp.D / 252 Speed
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Seed Bomb
- Encore
Jumpluff is my setup sweeper. Nothing is more fulfilling than Swords Dancing when an opponent tries to burn or paralyse you, eat the lum berry and wreck with acrobatics. Sadly Jumpluff is very frail, even with screens up, and needs super effective damage, preferably after a second swords dance. This doesn't happen often and therefore he tends to go down without doing much.
Brigette (Altaria) (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Sp.Atk / 4 Sp.Def / 252 Speed
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Rest
I never liked Altaria much but since I started using her she is growing on me, like most members of the team. She comes in and destroys the opponent with one or two attacks before switching out again. Rest looked like an okay idea, switch in against a support or wall, rest and be cured of her status by natural cure but I never used it so another move for coverage would probably be better.
Cassius (Scrafty) (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Sp.Def
Careful Nature
- Knockoff
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Poison Jab
Cassius doen't have any pokemon on this bulbapedia page, but with his punk sprite I found Scrafty fitting, besides I always wanted to use one. With an assault vest I hoped he could be part of the defensive core of my team. Knockoff is very nice to have on him and drain puch keeps him going. Ice Punch gives him some coverage which the rest of the team lacks, however I'm not always keen to use it against a flying type. Poison Jab is for fairies and to help should he get in a stall war with a tank.
Amanita (Vaporeon) Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp.Def
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald
- Ice Beam
At this point I was lost for the final member. There were enough Eevees to pick from but I like some more variety. I settled for Vaporeon because it seemed to be an effective tank, which I thought the team was lacking. Wish also looked nice to keep Altaria or Scrafty going a bit longer, maybe even providing Jumpluff with a second chance to set up.
All in all I like the team. Some pokemon have started to grow on me and using something else then the standard OU picks is nice. But I feel that the team needs a better defensive core and lacks a punch. The synergy between the members seems to be lacking. I would like to keep the theme of the team but I doubt that the performance can be significantly increased with only that pool of pokemon. Therefore I have started to look at other options.
