[SET COMMENTS]
Manaphy is a wallbreaker that can become very threatening thanks to Tail Glow. Manaphy has a great defensive typing and good natural bulk, allowing it to set up on and match up well against Heatran, Landorus-T, and Great Tusk. Manaphy has valuable coverage in Ice Beam, which helps against Dragon-types such as Dragonite, Raging Bolt, and Mega Latios. Manaphy also has access to Psychic, which allows it to better hit Toxapex and Mega Venusaur; this stops the former from using Haze. Manaphy could also choose to run Energy Ball to hit opposing Water-types like Alomomola, Slowbro, and Hisuian Samurott.
Manaphy is a powerful but often unreliable wallbreaker, as it is incredibly reliant on Tail Glow to set up. Manaphy struggles to set up on common Pokemon like Ferrothorn, Haze Toxapex, and Pokemon like Gholdengo, which can status it. In addition, Pokemon with more immediate power, like Zamazenta and Tapu Lele, can stop Manaphy from setting up or easily revenge kill it. This causes Manaphy to function best on hyper offense structures, as partners like Dragonite, Hatterene, and Volcarona break past the aforementioned Pokemon. Manaphy only struggles against Ferrothorn once it is set up, as Ferrothorn can take its boosted attacks comfortably, making Volcarona, Iron Moth, and Zamazenta, all of which can break past Ferrothorn, good teammates. Manaphy specifically thrives on Sticky Web hyper offense teams, thanks to Sticky Web making it harder for faster Pokemon like Tapu Koko or Ogerpon-W to revenge kill it. This means Sticky Web setters like Araquanid and Ribombee are valuable partners. Manaphy can also keep Sticky Web up by threatening common entry hazard removers like Great Tusk, Landorus-T, and Moltres. Manaphy is weak to priority from common Pokemon like Kingambit and Raging Bolt. Tapu Lele helps to solve Manaphy’s priority weakness with its Psychic Surge. In return, Manaphy is able to beat Pokemon like Heatran, Gholdengo, and Corviknight that Tapu Lele struggles to break past.
