Tailwind Team RMT

I've been preparing for VGC for quite some time now. This team is my most current and my favorite team. It's a Tailwind team that abuses hard hitter to crush the opposing Pokemon. Without further ado, here it is:

Main Team:

Whimsicott @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
Nature: Timid (+ Spe, - Atk)
EV’s: 252 Hp, 252 Spe, 4 Sp D
Moves:
Encore
Tailwind
Taunt
Helping Hand / Protect

Whimsicott is my main Tailwind lead. Having a + speed nature and 252 Speed EV’s lets him safely set up Tailwind or use Taunt to stop other Pokemon. Many people say taunt is useless but it’s my only defense against TR. Turn 1 I taunt the Pokemon who will set up TR mental herb activates and removes the taunt so they can set up TR. Next turn I encore and make them cancel the TR. I’m unsure if I should have Helping Hand or Protect. Helping Hand gives Whimsicott a use after he uses Tailwind. But, Protect lets him survive and have Jellicent clear the way. Personally I’m leaning towards using Helping Hand over Protect, just so he has some use after Tailwind.

Jellicent @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Water Absorb / Cursed Body
Nature: Timid (+ Spe, - Atk)
EV’s: 252 Sp A, 230 Spe, 28 Hp
Moves:
Blizzard
Psychic
Shadow Ball
Water Spout

Jellicent is my anti Tailwind Pokemon. Many people don’t expect a Choice Scarf on Jellicent, they usually think of Choice Specs or Water Gem. With maxed IV’s and 230 speed EV’s he outspeeds the genies by 1 point. Water Spout stops Whimsicott + Terrakion due to his almighty Water Spout. Blizzard is mainly for the genies and gives Jellicent more coverage. Shadow Ball is for other Jellicents who aren’t expecting to face a fast Jellicent. Finally Psychic is mainly for hitting Amoonguss and Conkeldurr for super effective damage.

Darmanitan @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Nature: Adamant (+ Atk, - Sp A)
EV’s: 252 Atk, 76 Spe, 180 Hp
Moves:
Flare Blitz
Rock Slide
Brick Break / Earthquake
Protect

Darmanitan is a fearsome sweeper in any team (Other than rain). He can hit insanely hard killing almost every Pokemon. Darmanitan hits hard and fast in Tailwind, reaching 250 speed in it. He is still sort of bulky with a respectable 208 Hp that lets the Flare Blitzes sting less. I usually use Brick Break over Earthquake is because Earthquake will hit everyone on my team (other than Tornadus) for massive damage. Brick Break is super effective on both of the Pokemon who know Intimidate and really helps taking them down.

Conkeldurr @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
Nature: Adamant (+ Atk, - Sp A)
EV’s: 252 Atk, 100 Sp D, 100 Hp, 58 Def
Moves:
Hammer Arm / Brick Break
Mach Punch
Rock Slide
Protect

What doesn’t die to Darmanitan will surely be killed by Guts boosted Mach Punch. Conkeldurr is yet another Pokemon that can beat the feared Beat Up + Terrakion combo with just Mach Punch. He can also hurt TR teams due to his low(ish) speed and a great priority move. Conkeldurr may not seem like a good Pokemon for a Tailwind team but he is a great addition. If I can’t force through enough damage with my previous Pokemon, Conkeldurr will kill what’s left over. Conkeldurr has great synergy with Zoroark, Ghost type Pokemon love being immune to his Mach Punch but Zoroark can nail them with Sucker Punch.

Other Options:

Zoroark @ Expert Belt
Ability: Naïve (+ Spe, - Sp D)
EV’s: 108 Sp A, 248 Spe, 148 Atk, 4 Hp
Moves:
Low Sweep / Focus Blast
Flamethrower
Sucker Punch
Protect / Snatch

Zoroark is a very intimidating Pokemon in VGC. His purpose is to confuse the enemy and make them think twice about their every move. Sucker Punch is Zoroark’s best move surprising and KOing threats like Chandelure and (most) Reuniclus. The choice between Low Sweep and Focus Blast is personal opinion. I usually go with Focus Blast because of its great power but I can get 2 Low Sweeps without the faulty accuracy almost just as easily. Flamethrower is mainly used to fry Amoonguss. Finally, you can choose between Protect and Snatch on Zoroark’s last move. Protect is a great move on Zoroark because it keeps Illusion up. Snatch on the other hand can steal moves like Tailwind and get a jump on the opponent.

Tornadus @ Flight Gem
Ability: Prankster
Nature: Naïve (+ Spe, - Sp A)
EV’s: 252 Spe, 100 Hp, 100 Sp D, 52 Def
Moves:
Acrobatics
Tailwind
Taunt / Substitute
Protect / Substitute

Tornadus is my alternate Pokemon for setting up Tailwind. Unlike Whimsicott he is also a threat to the opposing team’s Pokemon. Flight Gem Acrobatics kills lots of Pokemon and still hits hard after the gem is used. Priority Taunt is a great thing to have but Protect + Substitute lets him stall for a long time, but Priority Taunt lets him beat Non-Mental Herb Pokemon.

So what do you think? Should I change up any Pokemon I have here or have different moves? Any help would be appreciated.

Just a quick note: I would probably go with Protect over Helping Hand, as it's a useful scouting tool that also helps to guard against Fake Outs and Taunts, which Whimsicott has problems with.

Thanks for the tip. I will still go with helping hand though. Whimsicott isn't meant to take hits and surviving 1 more turn means my powerful sweepers won't be able to come in as fast. Plus, helping hand plus Water Spout will kill almost everything.
