[SET]
Setup Sweeper (Iron Crown) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
EVs: 84 HP / 172 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 20 Atk
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psychic Noise / Stored Power
- Focus Blast
- Tachyon Cutter / Iron Defense
[SET COMMENTS]
Functioning as a niche setup sweeper, Iron Crown can leverage its good natural bulk and excellent coverage to effectively sweep. Psychic Noise is used to prevent healing from foes such as Gliscor and Moltres, while also being a more reliable STAB option when not yet set up. As an alternative, Stored Power can be used in conjunction with Iron Defense in order to make Iron Crown a threatening double dance sweeper. Focus Blast is used to hit Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn who could otherwise comfortably take Iron Crown's STAB moves. Tachyon Cutter is used to hit Fairy-types such as Hatterene and Tapu Lele who would otherwise be able to switch in on Iron Crown. Iron Defense can be used as previously mentioned to boost the power of Stored Power, while also making Iron Crown more resistant into physical attacker such as Zamazenta and Ogerpon-W letting it turn them into setup fodder. Assault Vest is used to bolster Iron Crown's special defense, letting it become a more reliable answer into common threats such as Tapu Lele and Calm Mind Iron Valiant. 172 SpA EVs are used in order to grant Iron Crown with Quark Drive speed from Booster energy, letting it out speed most foes.
This Iron Crown set fits exclusively on hyper offense teams where its ability to clean late-game is appreciated. Due to often lacking the bulk to set up reliably dual screens support from teammates such as Zamazenta and Tapu Koko are appreciated, with the latter also activating its Quark Drive, potentially enabling Iron Crown to run a different item. Iron Crown also appreciates Tapu Lele providing it with an immunity to priority from foes such as Kingambit courtesy of Psychic Terrain, while also boosting the power of its Psychic-type moves. In return, Iron Crown can provide a switch-in to Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, while also threatening foes such as Hatterene. Iron Crown struggles to beat Gholdengo, meaning Fire-type teammates that can threaten it such as Heatran and Volcarona are appreciated. In return Iron Crown can threaten foes such as Toxapex who could otherwise come in comfortably. Iron Crown also struggles with Ground-types such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Gliscor, meaning Flying-types such as Dragonite and your own Landorus-T make excellent teammates, with Landorus-T also effectively damaging Steel-types making it easier for Iron Crown to sweep. In return Iron Crown can break through Flying-types such as Zapdos and Tornadus-T who would otherwise be able to wall Landorus-T. Iron Crown also struggles to beat Ting Lu, meaning Fighting-type teammates such as Zamazenta and Iron Valiant are enjoyed, with Iron Crown in return beating Fairy-types such as Mega Diancie, Clefable and Hatterene.

Assault Vest (Iron Crown) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Quark Drive
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe or 84 HP / 172 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 20 Atk
Timid Nature
- Tachyon Cutter
- Psychic Noise
- Volt Switch
- Focus Blast
[SET COMMENTS]
Assault Vest Iron Crown functions as a niche defensive pivot, being able to leverage high a high special defense to be able to reliably switch in on foes such as Tapu Lele and Raging Bolt. Psychic Noise is the Psychic-type move of choice in order to prevent healing from foes such as Zapdos and Alomomola. Volt Switch lets Iron Crown pivot out of bad matchups, while also having the bonus of hitting foes such as Moltres and Corviknight decently hard. Focust Blast is used to circumvent Iron Crowns inability to hit Steel-types for meaningful damage, allowing it to hit targets such as Ferrothorn and Heatran. On Electric Terrain teams an EV spread with 172 SpA can be used in order to grant Iron Crown with a speed booster under Electric Terrain courtesty of Quark Drive, letting it outspeed the entirety of the unboosted tier.
Assault Vest Iron Crown fits primarily on Bulky Offense and Offense teams, where its ability to check foes such as Tapu Lele and Iron Valiant is greatly appreciated. Teammates that are vulnerable to the aformentioned Fairy-types, such as Dragonite, Garchomp and Hisuian Samurott all value Iron Crowns defensive capabilities as a result of this. In return, all 3 can effectively pressure opposing Steel-types such as Heatran and Gholdengo. Iron Crown finds itself weak to Ground-type moves from foes such as Garchomp, Landorus-T and Gliscor, meaning Flying-type teammates such as Zapdos and Moltres are enjoyed. In return Iron Crown can provide a good switchin against Electric-types such as Raging Bolt and Tapu Koko that could otherwise threaten them. Iron Crown also struggles to switch in against and break bulky Dark-types such as Ting Lu, meaning Fighting-types like Zamazenta, Iron Valiant and Urshifu-R can make good teammates. In return Iron Crown can provide a reliable answer to Psychic- and Fairy-types including the aforementioned Iron Valiant as well as Tapu Lele. Tapu Koko can also make an excellent partner due to its ability to set Electric Terrain, allowing Iron Crown to be able to out speed and threaten foes such as Choice Scarf Urshifu-R and Zamazenta.
