Tangrowth

Sufferage

I'm going to have Tangrowth on my wifi team as a physical wall paired with Skarmory. He'll be mainly used for double powder (for my strategy) and also a Gyarados counter. Right now, I'm planning on going with Grass Knot, Shock Wave, and double powder. However, I'd really like to use Power Whip. Can he still counter Gyara effectively if I drop Leech Seed/Knock Off on the standard set for Stun Spore? Or should I just stick with the plan?
 
You shouldn't rely on Stun Spore/Sleep Powder/etc. to counter Gyarados, because odds are you'll just get Taunted. IIRC the standard Tangrowth is Impish and has Power Whip and Knock Off.
 
Double Powder isn't for Gyarados; it's for some other element of my team. I'm referring to just the actual attacks (and maybe Leech Seed) for Gyara counter. Would just Knock Off and Power Whip work to counter it, or does it need Leech Seed?
 
Power Whip will take Gyarados down pretty quickly by itself. Don't try Leech Seed or you'll find yourself Taunted.
 
All right. I think I'll switch to Impish with Power Whip, Knock Off, and doublepowder (Gallade support--he's the center of the team). Will it be a problem that I don't have Grass Rope anywhere else on my team? Here's my team just for reference (not looking for rates):
