Typing:

Base Stats: 68 HP / 50 Atk / 60 Def / 120 SpA / 95 SpD / 82 Spe
Ability: Commander (No competitive singles use) / Storm Drain (Immune to Water-type moves, +1 SpA for being hit by one)
Notable Moves: Hydro Pump, Draco Meteor, Surf, Tera Blast, Nasty Plot, Rapid Spin, Substitute
Pros / Good Qualities:
- High power moves in Hydro Pump and Draco Meteor coupled with a strong 120 SpA allows Tatsugiri to hit reasonably hard
- Nasty Plot boosts Tatsugiri's Special Attack to monstrous heights, allowing it to OHKO and 2HKO a large majority of the tier, and Rapid Spin not only gives it strong utility in the ability of clearing hazards for its team but also boosts its Speed, making outrun everything in the tier unboosted.
- A strong defensive and offensive typing allows it to come in on resisted moves and threaten opposing Pokemon out, and it's Water-type immunity with Storm Drain makes it an excellent way of dealing with such Pokemon
- Terastallising Tatsugiri can not only improve its offensive profile, but can give it a powerful move to hit previous switch-ins. Tera Ground gives it a way of smacking Steel-types like Tinkaton and Revavroom and Electric-types like Pawmot and Sandy Shocks, Tera Ice allows it to OHKO Salamence, Rotom-C and Wo-Chein at +2, and Terastallising into one of your previous typings helps boost Tatsugiri's moves to absurd heights
- While Tatsugiri may be a powerful offensive threat, it's quite frail with a mere 68 HP and 60 Defense stat, leaving it vulnerable to a large amount of other offensive Pokemon in the metagame, and common priority moves like Lycanroc-D's Accelerock and Pawmot's Mach Punch threaten it even if it gets to +1 Speed.
- While it's offensive stats are nothing to sneeze at, without its boost it can often be found lackluster, particularly without the necessary Speed boost from Rapid Spin.
- Reliant on Terastalizing to function as a proper set-up sweeper due to its general lack of coverage moves outside of the weak Icy Wind, meaning that you have to be very committed to Tatsugiri putting in the work it needs to.

Sample Team:

Tatsugiri's Nasty Plot set is showcased here, working as both a breaker and cleaner in tandem with Pawmot, breaking past Pokemon it may struggle to deal with like Hippowdon, Salamence and Arcanine for it while Pawmot deals with Wo Chien, the Slowtwins, Gyarados and Magnezone. Tsareena, Slowking and Tinkaton form a strong defensive backbone for the team whilst being able to support the two as well as Iron Jugulis with Rapid Spin, Future Sight, slow Chilly Receptions and Stealth Rocks respectively. Iron Jugulis adds onto the offensive core as strong Special Attacker and another offensive pivot, letting Pawmot in on Steel and Electric-types and Tatsugiri on bulky threats that can't prevent it from setting up. Side note, Tera Electric is also very good on Pawmot combined with Double Shock so you can try that out too!
