Moves
=========
Earthquake pressures all grounded foes and especially threatens Ground-weak Pokemon such as Excadrill, Heatran, and Tyranitar. Taunt allows Gliscor to prevent hazard removal from slower Defog users such as Zapdos or healing moves from bulky Pokemon such as Clefable. Knock Off removes items such as Leftovers or Rocky Helmet from Pokemon such as Clefable, cutting into their longevity, and also lets Gliscor hit Ground-immune Pokemon such as Rotom-W, Tornadus-T, Zapdos, and Landorus-T. Roost provides Gliscor with longevity and the ability to pressure foes in combination with Taunt.
Set Details
=========
112 Speed EVs allow Gliscor to out speed and more easily wall Timid Heatran with faster Roosts. It also makes Gliscor faster than setup sweepers like Dragonite, Adamant Gyarados, and Careful or Impish defensive Gliscor, preventing them from setting up with Taunt. Maximum HP investment allows Gliscor to be as bulky as possible, while the rest of the EVs are invested in Special Defense to improve the matchup against special attackers like Mega Alakazam and Mega Diancie. Toxic Orb and Poison Heal provide Gliscor with extra healing and prevent other status conditions from being inflicted.
Usage Tips
=========
Bringing in Gliscor safely is important to activate the Toxic Orb. Once its ability is activated, Gliscor becomes a good target to take Knock Offs and status moves for the team. Using Knock Off early can be beneficial, since removing the foes' items can weaken their damage output or hinder their healing; by removing Leftovers from defensive Pokemon like Clefable, Alomomola, and Skarmory Gliscor can more easily pressure them with Taunt. Due to being a Flying-type and not being afraid of Toxic, Gliscor counters common physically defensive checks like Landorus-T and Garchomp well while also removing their Rocky Helmet or Leftovers with Knock Off and preventing Stealth Rock with Taunt.
Team Options
=========
This Gliscor set does well on slower paced teams that aim to chip down opposing teams gradually. Playstyles such as stall, hazard stack, and balance all suit Taunt Gliscor. A good teammate is Ferrothorn, since it can set up Spikes and switches well into Rotom-W. Another good option is Clefable, as it checks Weavile, Hidden Power Ice Zapdos, and Ice Punch Mega Lopunny. Pokemon that resist either Water- or Ice-type moves like Slowbro, Keldeo, and Amoonguss also pair up well with Gliscor by covering its weaknesses.
