[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 7 onward

**Price Range**: 5-6 points

**Overview**: Paldean Tauros-F sets itself apart from other cheap Fighting-type options with a great secondary typing, burn immunity, defensive options in Will-O-Wisp and Intimidate, and serviceable Defense and Attack with a unique STAB option in Raging Bull to remove Screens. Unfortunately, Paldean Tauros-F can be inconsistent in practice. Its stronger STAB options in Flare Blitz and Close Combat come with drawbacks such as recoil and lowered defensive stats, contradicting its defensive traits and utility. Body Press and Raging Bull can make up for this somewhat, but often lack enough power to be threatening consistently. Without pivoting, reliable recovery, and mediocre stats outside of Attack and Defense, Paldean Tauros-F struggles to stay around long-term without significant support from its team.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Bulky Wall**: Paldean Tauros-F can utilize Intimidate and its natural typing to take hits and punish with an attack or Will-O-Wisp. However, it must be wary of Flare Blitz recoil and lack of reliable healing options.

**Wallbreaker**: Paldean Tauros-F can equip a damage-boosting item and use its STAB and coverage to break for its teammates.

**Late-Game Cleaner**: Paldean Tauros-F can clean through weakened teams using its set-up option in Bulk Up and speed-boosting options in Trailblaze, Flame Charge, or holding a Choice Scarf.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Raging Bull, Flare Blitz, Body Press, Close Combat

**Setup Moves**: Bulk Up, Trailblaze, Flame Charge

**Utility Moves**: Will-O-Wisp

**Coverage**: Earthquake, Lash Out, Iron Head, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Wild Charge, Zen Headbutt

Niche Moves
========
**Endure**: Endure alongside Rocky Helmet can accrue additional chip damage on physical attackers, even when in range of a KO.

**Endeavor**: Paldean Tauros-F can utilize its Speed to bring targets low enough if it cannot muscle past them naturally.

**Rock Tomb/ Bulldoze**: Paldean Tauros-F can use Rock Tomb or Bulldoze to lower the opposing pokemon’s Speed and allow it to outpace and KO a faster threat.

**Rest / Sleep Talk**: Rest can be used alongside a Chesto Berry or Sleep Talk to grant immediate recovery in a pinch.

Common Items
========
**Damage-boosting items**: Paldean Tauros-F can use relevant damage-boosting items, from Choice Band, Life Orb, Expert Belt, or Charcoal to assist in its breaking potential.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots allow Paldean Tauros-F to be immune to hazard chip over time, increasing its longevity.

**Rocky Helmet**: Paldean Tauros-F can punish prominent physical attackers and U-turn through Rocky Helmet.

**Choice Scarf**: Paldean Tauros-F can hold a Choice Scarf to act as a revenge-killer and outpace threats that would otherwise outpace it naturally.

Niche Items
========
**Sitrus Berry**: Sitrus Berry can further Paldean Tauros-F`s longevity and can be used alongside Cud Chew to increase the recovery at the cost of giving up Intimidate.

**Weakness Policy**: Paldean Tauros-F can bait a weak super-effective attack and raise its Attack to staggering levels of damage output, often alongside Trailblaze or Flame Charge to turn it into a terrifying sweeper.

**Assault Vest**: An Assault Vest can shore up Paldean Tauros F`s meager Special Defense to take some hits from prominent special attackers.

**Leftovers**: Leftovers grant Paldean Tauros-F recovery over time, assuming it is on the field for long enough to get enough value over other items.

Tera
========
Paldean Tauros-F doesn’t need to be a Tera Captain to be successful in its roles, as its serviceable base typing is often enough to get the job done. However, if Paldean Tauros-F is a Tera Captain, it can utilize both Fire and Fighting-type to boost STAB and increase its breaking potential. Paldean Tauros-F can also use other typing such as Water, Fairy, Grass, or Dragon to provide more defensive utility and grant access to new or improved coverage options with Tera Blast.

Draft Strategy
========
Paldean Tauros-F should be drafted as a check to physical Grass, Steel, Fire, and Dark type pokemon, such as Meowscarada, Roaring Moon, and Gouging Fire.

**Pivots**: Pokemon such as Tornadus-T or Galarian Slowking can take a hit and allow Paldean Tauros-F safe entry.

**Hazard Control**: Paldean Tauros-F appreciates pokemon that can reliably set hazards, such as Deoxys-Speed and Great Tusk, as well as pokemon that can remove hazards, such as Iron Treads and Great Tusk, to keep Paldean Tauros-F healthy.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Resists**: Pokemon that can stomach a hit from Paldean Tauros-F, especially those who do not fear Will-O-Wisp, such as Pecharunt and Latias, can take a hit and fire back with status or a strong attack.

**Contact-Punishing Effects**: Pokemon such as Garchomp or Zapdos can chip Paldean Tauros-F when holding a Rocky Helmet and their abilities, Rough Skin and Static

**Faster Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Greninja, Keldeo, and Iron Bundle can all outpace Paldean Tauros-F and KO with a supereffective attack.

**Special Attackers**: Paldean Tauros-F`s poor Special Defense leaves it susceptible to strong Special Attackers, such as Zapdos, Kyurem, and Iron Valiant.

talk again about struggling long term without good healing options/recoil
