Hey there, SV OU! i wanted to share a team i made in like ~20 minutes and took to the ladder, reaching 1400s in a little less than an hour and a half :) i was thinking earlier today about creating another alt account and what teams i'd really like to play around with on the ladder and hazard stack immediately came to mind! below is the pokepaste and a description of the team members and their roles!
Pokepaste
HISUIAN-SAMUROTT
Hamurott serves as one of the team's two primary hazard setters with its powerful STAB, Black Glasses-boosted Ceaseless Edge setting spikes each time it connects with the opponent. Flip Turn allows it to pivot out of some of its poor matchups while not slowing progress, Knock Off removes Boots, and Razor Shell for Sharpness-boosted Water STAB which can potentially result in a 2HKO with a 50% PhysDef drop. Tera Ghost gives the team an extra spinblocker on top of giving Hamu Fighting and Normal Immunities to prevent getting OHKOd from threatening CCs or ESpeeds.
GREAT TUSK
Tusk is the team's second hazard setter, providing the team with Stealth Rocks while using its HP and PhysDef to tank a few hits on top of threatening KOs with its STAB Headlong Rush and Ice Spinner, which is boosted by Tera Ice in order to guarantee KOs on threatening dragons, opposing Tusks, etc. There's nothing too special about this Tusk set, just the usual Rocks/Spin/Ice/Headlong set with the 252 Atk / 252+ Speed / 4 SpD spread.
PECHARUNT
What a gift it is to be a gargantuan physical wall for mons such as Tusk, Wogerpon, Dragonite, and Zama while being an effectively spinblocker. Pecharunt provides the team with a spinblocking, physically-defensive slot machine which can make or break an opponent's progress with Toxic and Confusion procs from Malignant Chain in tandem with its ability, Poison Puppeteer. Parting Shot allows Pech to pivot out while lowering the opponent's offensive stats, which is incredibly helpful for bringing in the team's frailer offensive threats such as Teal Mask Ogerpon and Hamurott to take less of a hit.
OGERPON (TEAL MASK)
On top of being a threatening physical attacker with SD for setup, Togerpon's ability Defiant makes defoggers afraid to click their move* and Intimidate mons avoid switching in, as bringing out a +2 Pon which can likely OHKO and outspeed everything on their team will result in an immediate game win, which is only exacerbated with Embody Aspect's +1 Speed boost after Tera. Knock Off is effective at removing boots as well as effectively hitting the format's Ghost types for Super Effective damage, Play Rough lets it deal with Dragon types, and Cudgel provides Togerpon with strong STAB which has a higher crit rate than most other moves and makes offensive/defensive mons like Zamazenta sweat under the threat of a crit.
HEATRAN
Rocking supportive moves such as Will-o-Wisp and Taunt, Heatran is able to sponge plenty of Special hits while taking on some Physical attackers and threatening the burn status or Taunt in order to shut down setup. In addition to this, Earth Power and Magma Storm are incredibly useful for dishing out some high Special damage with Magma Storm (when it hits) providing extra chip on top of hazards / burn. Tera Grass helps with Heatran's crippling x4 Ground-type weakness after its balloon is popped, as well as its x2 weakness to Water (turning into a resistance) and x2 weakness to Fighting (now becoming neutral).
ZAMAZENTA
Finally, there's Big Boss Zamazenta to round out the team. There's nothing all that special about Zama's role on this team as it's the team's guaranteed Kingambit counter as well as the team's method to directly force out sweepers with Tera Steel and Roar. Heavy Slam is boosted by Tera Steel and also hits Fairy types for super effective (while walling most of them after Tera), Crunch for the Psychic and Ghost types, and Close Combat to dish out some shnasty STAB Fighting-type damage.
Despite the 22-5 W/L record, this team felt a little clunky at times while still complimenting my playstyle and feeling pretty synergistic between the mons. I'm almost certain there are ways this team could be improved upon, so feel free to let me know!
