XY Ubers Team 1 RMT

So this is the first team that I made in gen 6, peaked at #67 on the Ubers ladder with it. Please do comment what issues/changes you have in mind. Oh and I already know it's incredibly Ho-oh weak. Without further ado, I present my team.

Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Iron Head

Genesect: not used as much this gen, I wanted to try out building around it. U-turn is obvious, Iron Head is for Xerneas and that handy flinch chance. Flamethrower hits klefki, scizor, ferrothorn among others for super effective damage and ice beam is for flying types and dragon types. Genesect is my pivot with that blazing fast speed gifted it by choice scarf. specially based so that I can OHKO ferrothorn (annoying to my team when played properly) with flamethrower. How to use it: pick move that is best to use, if threatening poke to genesect is predicted to switch in, hit uturn.

Ditto @ Focus Sash
Ability: Imposter
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Transform
- Transform
- Transform
- Transform

ditto: one of my checks to xerneas, also copies every single frigin sweeper that's not hiding under that pesky little thing called a substitute. focus sash is because I don't like being locked into a move unless there are special circumstances, but that speed tie can/does hurt. this is my counter-sweeper btw. keeep in mind that with sash giratina needs to defog spikes and rocks. webs do NOT matter because they effect ditto BEFORE it transforms. Therefore, it can be worth it to sacrifice giratina for ditto sweep.

Kyogre @ Choice Specs
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Serious Nature
- Water Spout
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunder

kyogre: IT'S SPECS OGRE. NUF SAID. Hits insanely hard, surf>>>>hydro miss. standard specs ogre set. if ho-oh is faster and I've taken prior damage i cry because this is my primary/nearly only check to ho-oh. how to use: after one of your poke faints, send it in and hit water spout because full health water spout incredibly strong. autoclick water spout unless either 1: flying or dragon type coming in or 2: you'll get hit hard so you hit surf or 3: opposing kyogre coming so need thunder.

Giratina @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Roar
- Will-O-Wisp
- Defog
- Rest

giratina: my staller. mega kang cries against this set. no sleep talk because I couldn't fit it and I don't like relying on chance anyways. also helps if I'm in a stallfest against lugia. not that often, but hey you never know. defog to preserve that sash on ditto cuz poor thing can't win speed ties if it's not scarfed. this is the wall. it walls mega kang to hell and back, roars boosters like blaze who cant hurt it without knock off. however, this is taunt weak so keep that in mind.

Arceus-Ghost @ Spooky Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Serious Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Shadow Force
- Earthquake/Brick Break

arceus ghost: also viable as e killer. this is a check to non boosted ekiller, shadow force spam op. brick break viable against ekiller and ferro. one of the checks to xern (priority) and also a sweeper. how to use: sd on stuff that can't hurt it or on a switch, spam shadow force or e speed if they are faster. shadow force BREAKS THROUGH PROTECT, which means they will not be able to stop you. make sure you get rid of their normal type pokemon if they have one before you start spamming shadow force.

Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 48 HP / 252 SpA / 210 Spe
Serious Nature
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Substitute
- Thunder

Xerneas: standard geomancy set. substitute is to avoid any status and not have ditto counter sweep my team since it can't really do much to a set up xern bar priority (only ghostceus). thunder hits everything that moonblast doesn't neutrally bar fire/ground types, the only poke with that i can think of is camarupt which is pretty much nonexistent in the meta. this is also one of my sweepers. how to use: if they will roar, moonblast. if you can set up geomancy without being in danger of priority (assuming scizor is dead) or ditto (substitute kills ditto), set it up and sweep

so have fun with this team. feel free to suggest changes to this team as long as it doesn't kill the spirit that this team was built around/made with. vague but eh. just don't change it so much that I can't recognize it. please do give me any comments/improvements in replies to this post. Thank you!!!

This won't be a full rate but one issue I see is that you basically have 5 offensive mons+momentum killer in Giratina, this is pretty bad since it gives opponents to get in for free/setup and beat you since you do lose to a couple things pretty easily.

Hey yolotrollster nice team, I really like the concept of it. There a few things that could be improve though. You are using 5 offensive mons and a momentum killer in the form of Giratina, which doesn't work that well. Anyways, let's go.

My first suggestion is using Chople Berry Heatran over Ditto. Chople Berry Heatran allows you to check Xerneas with the help of Roar, +2 Focus Blast is not able to get through Heatran and then you can proceed to Roar it out, making the opponent waste his/her Power Herb and essentially wasting his Geomancy Xerneas, Heatran is also a really nice Ho-Oh check, which you pointed out as a weakness, being able to pivot switch into both Brave Bird and Sacred Fire. Another niche that Heatran would have on your team is Stealth Rock, your team doesn't really have one and Heatran does the job really well, it is a very reliable multitask pokemon. Now as for the EVs: EVs: 248 HP / 140 SDef / 120 Spd with a Calm nature allows you to take 1 +2 Focus Blast from Xerneas with the help of Chople Berry, it also allows you to outspeed some common bulky base 90 pokemon like Dialga and Ho-Oh. As for the moves, Lava Plume is a very nice STAB move that can leave burns on the opponent, this is great as you can potentially burn Landorus-T and Groudon on the switch-in. Stealth Rock helps you with the Ho-Oh problem and leaves good damage on the opponent's pokemon as they come in, this also helps with the Kyogre problem as Stealth Rock stops it from using Water Spout forever. Roar helps you phaze pokemon like Substitute Ho-Oh, Geomancy Xerneas and Calm Mind Arceus. Toxic is for crippling pokemon like Ho-Oh as well as Calm Mind Pokemon and Yveltal on the switch-in.

Heatran (M) @ Chople Berry
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 140 SDef / 120 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Toxic

Next suggestion is Lustrous Orb Palkia over Kyogre, although Kyogre hits really hard and keeps the momentum, Palkia can do almost the same thing, the difference is, Palkia can actually switch-in and threaten opposing Kyogre. Palkia also helps pokemon like Ho-Oh and it is just a really good momentum go-getter, especially when you're using Genesect. As for the EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd with a Timid nature allow you to outspeed max speed Yveltal and this EV spread just helps Palkia keep the offensive momentum as it hits insanely hard with the help of Lustrous Orb and its massive Special Attack stat, not to mention, Palkia outspeeds a lot of common things in the Ubers metagame, making it even harder to deal with. As for moves, Spacial and Hydro Pump are really powerful STAB moves, Hydro Pump 2HKOs non-Sp.Def Xerneas on the switch-in and Spacial Rend just helps when dealing with Dragon types, both get a lot of 2HKOs on a lot of common pokemon. Fire Blast is for being able to hit Ferrothorn and Scizor. Thunder Wave is for crippling Xerneas that tries to setup on Palkia.

Palkia @ Lustrous Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Spacial Rend
- Fire Blast
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder Wave

Another thing that you could try out is Normal-type Extremekiller Arceus over Ghost. It is more effective as it has a stronger priority, which your team could really make use of, especially if Heatran gets worn down and you need to emergency check Xerneas. I think you should use Jolly Life Orb Arceus since it outspeeds Mega Gengar, which could be used by your opponent as an emergency check for Extremekiller Arceus, being able to outspeed without Mega Evolving and Focus Blast it or using Destiny Bond, potentially stopping your sweep. Keep your current moveset but, use Earthquake over Brick Break always, Earthquakes hits stuff like Arceus-Rock and Dialga harder and Ferrothorn is not THAT common anymore.

arceus.gif

Arceus @ Life Orb
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Shadow Claw
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance

Last big suggestion is using Giratina-O over Giratina-A. I feel like Giratina-O would be a lot better since it is immune to Ground, allowing it to switch into Landorus-T and Groudon. It also has a stronger priority, which is always nice. I feel like you could use some hazard control as well, Giratina-O is also really good at Defogging, immune to Toxic Spikes/Spikes and not trapped by Shadow Tag users, which is huge. Giratina-O can also have the role of being an Extremekiller check, having access to Dragon Tail and Will-O-Wisp, stopping it from sweeping your team. As for the EVs: 212 Atk / 252 Def / 44 Spd with an Adamant nature allows you to take a +2 Shadow Claw from Arceus and then phaze with Dragon Tail, the bulk is also really nice for checking other pokemon like Blaziken and Kangaskhan. The attack investment allows you to 2HKO Mewtwo with Shadow Sneak and makes Giratina-O a really strong pokemon overall. As for the moves, Dragon Tail allows you to stop set up sweepers like Arceus and Blaziken, preventing them to straight up sweep your team. Shadow Sneak is a rather strong priority move which characterizes Giratina-O overall. Will-O-Wisp cripples pokemon that tend to switch in on Giratina-O like Ferrothorn and Scizor and Defog just helps removing hazards from the team if needed.

Giratina-O @ Griseous Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 212 Atk / 252 Def / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Tail
- Shadow Sneak
- Will-O-Wisp
- Defog

As a side note, I suggest you to use Naive nature over Hasty and Explosion over Flamethrower on Genesect. It is important to be able to be more physically bulky in case you need to take one priority move from Yveltal or Arceus. Explosion would be really good on Genesect as well since it turns Genesect into an emergency Extremekiller Arceus check, doing massive damage to it after taking the +2 Extremespeed. Last thing I can suggest is using a different EV spread on Xerneas. The EV spread would be: 120 HP / 28 Def / 252 SAtk / 108 Spd, that with a Modest nature gives Genesect the Sp.Atk boost instead of the Attack one before setting up, which is incredibly useful and you still outspeed almost everything after using Geomancy.

Nice team, good luck :]

Thanks Edgar. I hadn't though of chople berry and other than genesect ditto was my only counter to xern. As for ekiller, would shadow claw or force be better? Also I'm not too sure about explosion vs flamethrower because flame does hammer scizor no matter what weather. Finally, I think I'll opt for flame>blast and surf>hydro miss because my luck is as bad as steel' is good. Thanks for the input!!

Shadow Claw is better because Force is easier to counter :]
