Team Battlefront (OU Wifi)

Team Battlefront

This team in made for Nintendo DS wifi, but I started this team because I got tires of my old one, and this is my team. It isn't exactly the strongest team, and I am having my doubts on it, which is why I figured I would bring it here. Comments and suggestions are accepted, and I am willing to change anything I can.

So without further ado, I present my team!

metagross.png

The lead: Metagross
252 HP / 236 Atk / 12 Def / 8 Spe
Adamant/Occa Berry

-Stealth Rock
-Meteor Mash
-Bullet Punch
-Explosion

I chose metagross as my lead because not only is he a lead, but he gets stealth rocks up, and is a potential sweeper later in the game. He isn't OHKO from most leads and gets the job done done. If there is a problem, I explode. My reasoning for using Meteor Mash is to sweep in later in the game.

zapdos.png

Preparing the Path: Zapdos
252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid/ Life Orb

-Thunderbolt
-Heat Wave
-HP ICE
-Signal Beam

His job is simple: get rid of water types that are a threat to Dragonite and Rhyperior. Signal Beam is for some extra psychic control. Hidden power can't be used unfortunately, because this is for DS fighting, and my Zapdos's hidden power isn't the right type or amount of power. That is also the reason for its nature being serious. One Zapdos has done his job, Dragonite's biggest problem is out of the way

dragonite.png

The Big stuff: Dragonite
112 Atk / 196 SpA / 200 Spe
Rash/Life Orb

-Draco Meteor
-Superpower
-Flamethrower
-Roost

This is the origin of the team. He is my favorite Pokemon and wanted a team revolving around his sweep. He is the body/closing sweep after Zapdos has done his job. When he is low on health, Vaporeon comes in and does his thing. The rest of his job is pretty simple: sweep. As for thunderbolt I don't exactly need it because of Zapdos, and I don't need roost because I have Vaporeon, so I'm not sure what to do.

tyranitar.png

The Backup: Tyranitar

160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe
Adamant/Choice Scarf

-Crunch
-Aqua Tail
-Pursuit
-Stone Edge

Tyranitar is Dragonite's backup. If something goes wrong and vaporeon is down, and Dragonite falls as well, this is Plan B. With choice band and Adamant, it is pretty hard not to make and impact on the opponent. He hits hard and gets the job done. Not much else to say.

vaporeon.png

The Healer: Vaporeon
188 HP / 252 SpA / 68 Spe
Bold/leftovers

-Wish
-Protect
-Surf
-Toxic

This is my healer, Vaporeon. Her job is simple as well. Simply heal the weak and take out fire. Wish makes life a lot easier, when one of my guys is low, Vaporeon is just the kind of fuel that takes them back up on their feet.

rhyperior.png

When in doubt, go Su(b)perior!
132 HP / 192 Atk / 16 SpD / 168 Spe
Adamant/Leftovers

-Stone Edge
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Substitute

The raw power of this guy is unbelievable. I wanted to give him a try, and needed someone who was compatible with what I already have, Zapdos, Vaporeon, and Tyranitar Sandstorm. After reading the article that made him so famous, I was convinced. He fit the bill, and he works great.

Well it's not the best, but comments are appreciated, thank you for your time

(Everybody fans Dragonite to some degree, I like it because it lives in Water...)
-Metagross does fine, there are alternatives to MM but that's up to you.
-Serious nature? Use Timid and run TB/HP Ice/Heat Wave/Roost...you'll have to get a new one...
-Some (as myself) use Roost>TB on Dragonite, but TB is fine...
-Id'e use Vaporeon's (Vappy <3) speed EVs in special attack.
-Why ever use Rhyperior without a Rock-type move? Please run SE>Megahorn, Megahorn isn't much more accurate and Ground+Rock has terrific coverage!

I agree, Dragonite is the best! As you have said neither thunderbolt nor roost are necessary so I would suggest toxic. It seems unusual but if dragonite becomes useless in the face of a crucial pokemon of the opponents it becomes extremely useful, If accuracy and the inability to hit steels is annoying then thunder wave is also good but not so good in the face of stalls. If you wish to have another attack then earthquake is always a reasonably safe option.

Hey what's up Freak of nature, I'm going to be doing a analysis on your team.

First of all to begin you have 3 pokemon weak to Grass, Ice, and Ground.

Metagross- Looks good overall, wouldn't really change anything about it.

Zapdos- It's a decent sweeper but I see something that can replace it and remove the Ice weakness to help improve the synergy of your current team and it's one hell of a great sweeper and doesn't take 25% from Stealth Rock each turn. That pokemon is Boosting sweeper Rotom, it's able to commit on a good sweep and it also removes that bad Ice weakness that could ruin you. The also good thing I like about it is that it can also stop your current ground and electric weakness. So here's the moveset and EVs for you.

Rotom-H @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
EVs: 128 HP / 168 SpA / 212 Spe
Moveset: Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Charge Beam, Subsitute

Thunderbolt is the best stab move you currently have, Charge beam is to execute the sweep and get the Sp.attack raise. Subsitute is to stop any status, and lastly shadow ball is to hit things that resist electric type attacks.

Dragonite: I find this pokemon to be currently fine in your team since I'm pretty sure you don't want to change it to Salamence because you really like Superpower to hit Blissey. You definitly want to take thunderbolt off since you have the rotom and also you have to change it to roost the reason being is that if you're using vap to wish and if stealth rock is still in place, you're going to be getting 25% HP back every turn which isn't helpful at all due to your item you definitly want to change it into roost. Roost will definitly be a improved performance for your current dragonite.

Tyranitar: I love this pokemon due to it's the best dark type in the game, but I don't like your item currently or your EVs. You probably want to change the item from Choice band into Choice scarf, reason being Ghost / Phychics type running in the game talking about Starmie, Gengar, Latias, Rotom, Azelf, etc. So that's a pretty big chunk you can knock out if you pursuit or crunch them since you'll be outspeeding all of those pokemon if you have a scarf since if they don't you'll totally destroy them and it'll be no change of seeing it again. So here's the EVS and Moveset you might be wanting for your new Tyranitar.

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Moveset: Stone Edge, Earthquake, Pursuit, Crunch

Stone Edge is for all those flying types and it's currently your best move on the Tyranitar. Earthquake is for Heatran, Tyranitar, Metagross, Jirachi and all those pokemon since you don't need Superpower on this pokemon due to that attack currently on Dragonite you won't be having a problem. Pursuit and Crunch are for those Ghost and Phychic types so you have to predict either if they stay in or switch out so you could kill it off or do the most damage.

Vaporeon: Currently fine fits your team perfectly, the only thing I recommend you better change is Ice beam since you can definitly take on things weak to Ice since you have Dragonite for Dragons so that's the only thing that I see being a decent problem. The other thing is you might want to change that move into Toxic or HP Electric if Rotom is down since Gyarados could still do a huge amount of damage to your team. Toxic is for Wish / Protect stalling and HP Elec is for other Water types.

Rhyperior: This pokemon is adding the grass and ground weakness currently I recommend you changing him because I know a great pokemon that can replace Rhyperior and have great synergy in your team. The pokemon would be Scizor the reason being it's become one of the most popular swords dancers, and it has priority which Rhyperior doesn't and will be outspeeded by mostly anything due to how slow it is. So here's the moveset and EVs I think you shall be using for one of your new pokemon.

Scizor @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Moveset: Swords Dance, Bullet Punch, Brick Break, Bug Bite

Swords dance is simple adding +2 on Attack, Bullet punch is priority you need if something comes in and tries to outspeed you, Brick Break is for other Steel types who'll be resisting you. Bug bite lastly is the strongest move you have and it takes down bulky waters like vaporeon and just does major damage to anything that comes in that tries to resist it.

Good luck on the team and I hoped my analysis helped.

I would change Metagross to a different lead and use Forretress. He can spin away rocks/spikes and set up Toxic Spikes for Vaporeon to have an easier time stalling. Maybe put Tyranitar in the lead spot.

Zapdos can use Roost in that last slot. Timid is a much better nature than Serious, Modest is also decent. Bold and Calm are still improvements over Serious. Try for one of those 4, I know she is legendary but at least try.

Roost is a great option for Dragonite even with Vaporeon but you can also try Thunderwave, which would greatly help both Tyranitar and Subperior.

one thing that stands out to me just by glancing over your team is that your Dragonite, which you said is the focus of your team, has 2 attacks that greatly lower its attack stats (Superpower and Draco Meteor). If you really plan to sweep without switching out, you're going to find it hard to pull off with reduced attack stats

also, an offensive swampert wrecks your hard hitters
