Welcome to Team Berserk! This team is for Standard competition, standard clauses, etc. If you contributed any thoughts to my other RMT entitled Team Hydro (mono-water type team) that I posted about 2 weeks ago I greatly appreciate all the feedback, and I expect the same critical analysis here as well. I'm a big boy and I can take it! Also, I'm not sure how "original" this team is or if it has been done in RMT, but I did not look to other teams for inspiration if that counts for anything. So if I'm copying you, then we must think alike, which is probably a bad thing.....

The strategy with this team is to buff up and get Metagross some attacking power and speed and sweep on the physical side, with Porygon-Z & Salamence on the special side cleaning up. Dusknoir is expendable and switches in to take fighting moves, where-as Vaporeon leads and 75% of the time Yawns to either force a switch or will switch to avoid his 2 weaknesses...

I am thinking of a few changes, and I will note where I think I need to do so, and I would appreciate any feedback on those as well. Lets get started!

dpmba134.png
Grahf
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpA
Nature: Bold
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Wish
- Yawn

Vapy is my starter and he is bulky. I usually start out with Yawn unless I can 1 or 2 HKO the opposition. If the match up is really bad (Boltbeamer or Grass/electric type) I'll make a switch, hopefully resulting with Gliscor eating an electric attack. If I get Yawn off, then depending on the damage that he took I'll Wish it off or have the wish help out the next to switch in.

Puck
Gliscor @ Leftovers
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Swords Dance (Up for discussion)
- Baton Pass

When Gliscor comes in, he can Taunt away attempts to Haze him or lay spikes or status or just about anything. I'm really starting to appreciate this move a lot! Swords Dance as many times as I think its safe and then either sweep anyone weak to Ground or BP out to Metagross. It would take ESP to predict that I would be using BP from someone immune to ground to one that gets hit Super. However, I am VERY limited to who i switch to if I can get Dancing. My other 2 physical attackers are coming up later (Meta & Dusk), and really 1 is worth passing to. I have considered going with Rock Polish over SD to be able to give an extra boost to a larger audience, but I would appreciate some advice before making a switch.

Takisis (Set & even species could change with changes elsewhere)
Salamence @ Choice Specs
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Modest
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Hyrdo Pump

Typical SpecsMence. Switch into weak attacks while avoiding faster boltbeamers and the infamous Garchomp, then volley back. Not much commentary here, you all know what its capable of. I would make a change to this whole set (and possibly even remove her depending on the situation) depending on changes elsewhere, but NOT to Garchomp.

dpmba474.png
ROFLCOPTER
Porygon-Z @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Tri Attack
- Dark Pulse
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

ROFLCOPTER outspeeds even Choice Scarfed Adamant Garchomp, so this little guy really tears it up (not that he'd switch into said Garchomp...). Typical spread of attacks covering everything for at least neutral damage. If he's in trouble of taking a strong Fighting type move, he can switch out to Dusknoir, then back in when ready to lay down more hurt.

Casca (up for discussion)
Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 76 Def / 180 SpD
Nature: Careful
- Thunder Punch
- Fire Punch
- Will-o-Wisp
- Pain Split

I have a problem with having Dusknoir in my team. She really serves one role, and that is to come into to protect everyone else. She has proven to be my most disposable member, and I am thinking of making a switch to something else. I like the Ghost idea because it protects both Meta & Porygon from fighting, but maybe Gengar would be more benifical to this team to levitate away from ground attacks aimed at Meta as well. Currently, Dusknoir switches in, attempts to Burn, then looks for a good chance to switch out or burn some more. The attacks are almost an after-though, and Pain Split is a gamble. Now, if I switch to something else, like Gengar, I think I would change some other facets, like maybe changing up SpecsMence to being Physical orientated (back to the breeding pens!), which would open up a Swords Dance Baton Pass to it (except if Ice is suspected!). Let me know what you think would best fit this spot, even if it means adjusting other spots as well.

Guts
Metagross @ Life Orb
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 152 HP / 252 Atk / 104 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Thunder Punch
- Agility (could change with other changes elsewhere)

Named after the famed Black Swordsman, he throws caution to the wind, takes a Swords Dance or two from his faithful companion Puck, raises his own speed, then sweeps the field while taking damage from Life Orb. He needs to be careful of Choice Scarf Garchomps who will still outspeed him after the Agility. This set would change if Gliscor changes moves to Rock Polish, and that would also free up a move on Metagross to either MORE ATTACK or even explosion or a fighting move (which I lack)

Thanks for any feedback you can provide!!!!

Mods, please lock this if you please.

Have you ever been so profoundly beaten that it totally changes what you thought about your team? I went 8-0 with this team in matches that were pretty much all out brawls. But yeah, twice in a row I had NOTHING to counter 2 well put together teams. The first was a Chaining baton passing team where my only "phazing" move is Yawn and that was absorbed by Lum berry and everything got swept, and the other team was a stalling, stealth rocking, spiking, Hail/Ice team that just totally decimated me.

I'm going back to the drawing board with pokemon I like, not just because they're OU and look good on paper. Man, I have a lot to learn!

no need to lock it, just remake your team here? A big problem I noticed is how quickly DDos sets up on vappy and proceeds to sweep half your team (assuming Ice Fang)

wtf is ice fang gyara going to do to vaporeon. vappy can sleep him and switch (assuming he dances on the first turn, predicting a switch.)

I like the idea of swords dance passing, but 2 great recipetents would be weavile and gyara. They resist ice, which is the main problem with gliscor.

Weavile is good CB'd, as the swords dance with CB is fucking boss. CB pursuit makes him a dugtrio on crack.

Bulky dos is good to, it basically goes 2+ atk, 1+ atk/1+ spe, procede to sweep.

A simple strategy, works like a charm. Try it before you scrap this team. The 2 pokes I suggested should go over salamence and metagross.

=)

The only reason I said Ice Fang was to run down Gliscor and Salamence, Taunt first turn and DD up while vappy can do nothing back forcing a switch if its to Pory-Z the user may switch to elevtivire to take that then try for a sweep which a Mixvire could do quite easily vs this team by the looks of it however I suppose Dusknoir could come in for an attempt at a Will-O-Wisp
