Team Blue: 85% Win Percentage [OU Plat.]

INTRODUCTION
With many new threats thanks to the advent of Platinum, I decided to use a D/P metagame oriented team in the new one. Its done really well going 17-3 on the OU ladder. I put a few PLatinum moves just to help me make that transition to a full Platinum metagame. So now let me introduce you to the Team Blue.

IN-DEPTH LOOK

bronzong.png

Bronzong @ Lum Berry
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 220 hp | 4 att | 140 def | 144 sp.def
Sassy Nature (+sp.def, -speed)
-Gyro Ball
-Stealth Rocks
-Hypnosis
-Explosion
Just a standard Bonzong lead. Set up the rocks and just explode when I'm done. I try to save him for later and not explode off the bat. Many times I've come across a Blissey or Cresselia that was just asking for a present.

starmie.png

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Evs: 160 hp | 132 sp.att | 212 speed
Timid Nature (+speed, -att)
-Surf
-Rapid Spin
-Thunderbolt
-Recover
I couldn't find a shiny sprite -_- Well anyway, this poke is amazing. A fast and bulky poke lets her stand out from other spinners. The ability to counter MixApe and non LO Gyarados is always a plus for anything. Pretty standard Ev spread.

salamence.png

Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
Evs: 72 hp | 252 att | 220 speed | 4 def
Naive Nature (+speed, -sp.def)
-Outrage
-Dragon Dance
-Fire Blast
-Earthquake
Wow. That's all I have to say about this things power. Easily will become the new Garchomp (maybe at a tie with Scizor). 309 speed is needed to beat out ice punch Lucario and sweeping Jirachi. Mence can 2hko most pokes without a dance and with just 1 dd, it's turns into one of the two best late game sweeper (Scizor as the other).

lucario.png

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
Evs: 252 att | 252 speed | 4 def
Jolly Nature (+speed, -sp.att)
-Close Combat
-Ice Punch
-Sword Dance
-ExtremeSpeed
After being so dominate in the D/P metagame, Lucario makes his triumphant return with a few new weapons up his sleeve. With Ice Punch he now can easily take down Gliscor and most Salamences with a Jolly nature. The rest is standard in terms of move set and Evs so not much need to be said about them. Bullet Punch get a mention but it fails against the common Zapdos and Gyarados.

heatran.png

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
Evs: 252 speed | 252 sp.att | 4 att
Naive Nature (+speed, -sp.def)
-Earth Power
-Flamethrower
-HP Ice
-Explosion
Ah ScarfTran, where would a team be without him? A great revenge killer and sweeper. The extra attack point sorta helps out in the going boom department on things like Bliss and Cress. HP Ice for Flying and Dragon types in general.

zapdos.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Evs: 160 hp | 220 def | 76 speed | 52 sp.att
Timid Nature (+speed, -att)
-Thunderbolt
-Heatwave
-HP Grass
-Roost
Serves as both a bulky wall and a good attacker. I don't think anything resists his attacking moves and Roost to recover HP. HP Grass for Swamperts who is kinda a pain in the @$$. THe spread lets me retain most of his ability to counter Scizor and such while the speed lets me beat Adamant Lucario and others. Special attack Evs let me hit just a bit harder.

CONCLUSION
In general, this team is really standard as for creativness goes. Don;t post comments saying to get uu/bl pokes. Its the OU tier for a reason. So with that said, thank you for your rates and please help me make this team even better. I haven't come across many threats besides skymin but it was only in 2 battles. Thank you again in advance.

Great Team 13Blue101. Really well put together.

The only suggestion I have is to make Zapdos more offensive:

Zapdos@Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 112HP / 252SpA / 144Spd
Naive/Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def/SpD)

Thunder Bolt
Hidden Power [Grass/Ice]
U-Turn/Roost
Heat Wave

The HP EVs allow you to still be bulky while still being able to do more damage. You can survive a 252SpA +SpA natured Choice Specs Draco Meteor from a salamence and then OHKO back with HP Ice if you chose to use it.

Otherwise great team.

Why make Zapdos more offensive?
His team's offenses are pretty good. I would suggest going with the spread you're using. Your team can use every bit of bulkiness it can get, since it has 3 fast sweepers and a good bulky starmie that can also sweep.

Overall a pretty solid team. I can't find anything that needs to be changed. Keep it up dude!

Most luke are Jolly now (you're even using one yourself), so going with timid 252 hp/80 def/176 spe is proberbly a better idea.
