The idea: I attempted to create a team based completely around setting hazards, stalling and blocking hazards coming in (I also really wanted to use Cofagrigus as it is one of my favorite Pokemon.)
My Team:
1) Cofagrigus
Cofagrigus @ Leftovers
Ability: Mummy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic Spikes
- Pain Split
- Hex / Shadow ball
- Substitute
First, I want to build a team around Cofagrigus. It is not only a spin blocker but it also lays toxic spikes, has a hex stab and can substitute based on what the opponent switches into.
2) Skarmory
Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Spikes
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
My second monster physical wall, this lays down spikes and can whirlwind stall effectively.
3) Shuckle
Shuckle @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Encore
- Infestation
Lays down the remaining two entry hazards as well as can encore and can break possible sweep set ups.
4) Starmie
Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Psyshock
My mixed wall as well as rapid spinner.
5) Bisharp
Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pursuit
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
This is my switch in when I predict a defog coming as its defiant ability gives it 2x attack, it traps and kills many psychic common defoggers like latias/latios, mew. If the defoggers are not likely to be damaged much with a pursuit (Crobat, Skarmory, Scizor), 2x knock off hits like a truck to whatever switches in.
6) Charizard Mega-Y
Charizard-Mega-Y @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Solar Power
EVs: 252 SpA / 8 SpD / 248 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost
Charizard is my lead, wall breaker, and basically all out attacker on the team. With the aid of sticky web, spikes and stealth rock switching into it is nearly impossible.
This team is nowhere near perfect there are a lot of holes and threats that hurt it but so far I have been pretty successful and had a lot of funning using this team, winning 8/10 games I played. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance!!
