Team Crazy Fail

Team Crazy Fail (OU)

OU Team

Ok, this is my first RMT, and it's probably extremely bad. I don't usually use this team, but I want to. It's fun to sweep through 5 pokemon with ineffective moves, but this only happens once every 4 or 5 games. I want it to happen more.
It's kind of a baton pass team, but not a chain. It's usually just one pokemon passing a speed boost to a glass cannon. Help me make the team better please.

Lead: Ninjask@Leftovers with Jolly Nature
Substitute
Baton Pass
Swords Dance
X-Scissor
176 HP / 252 Atk / 80 Spe
Ninjask is a great speed passer, and if my opponent lets my sub stay, I can swords dance as well. X-Scissor can 2hKO an Aerodactyl as well as take care of the opposing team's substitutes and psychic pokemon. Basically, I let Ninjask stay in for 2-4 turns and baton pass to a Pokemon that will resist the move of the Pokemon threatening Ninjask. So if it was fire, then to either Salamence or Rampardos

Heracross@Flame Orb with Adamant Nature and Guts
~ Night Slash
~ Megahorn
~ Close Combat
~ Facade
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
High attack from Guts. Facade also becomes an option. Walled really hard by ghosts, especially Gengar. Megahorn does 1/4 damage to Gengar. Also really frail.

Salamence@Life Orb with Mild Nature
~ Draco Meteor
~ Earthquake
~ Fire Blast
~ Outrage
84 Atk / 216 SpA / 208 Spe

Mixed sweeper, usually coming in with a swords dance from Ninjask. Good coverage, but made even more frail by SR.

Rampardos@Life Orb with Adamant Nature
~ Stone Edge
~ Earthquake
~ Zen Headbutt
~ Fire Punch
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Chosen over Marowak because Rock has more resists. No choice scarf because of 3 speed boosts from Ninjask. No choice band to prevent getting walled by steels and rocks.

Zapdos@Leftovers with Timid Nature
~ Agility
~ Baton Pass
~ Thunderbolt
~ Roost
248 HP / 136 Def / 88 SpA / 36 Spe

Another speed passer. Lots of resistances and Roost helps it stay in. Also, I apparently can't make HP Grass work.

Scizor@Leftovers with Adamant Nature
~ Baton Pass
~ Agility
~ Roost
~ Bullet Punch
248 HP / 88 Atk / 172 Spe

Passes the Agility. Bullet Punch can also be used to sweep. I'm debating whether to switch Roost with Superpower in order to get a speed baton pass and start sweeping.

Weaknesses: Anything with a priority move screws over my team, as it is based on speed. Scizor and Metagross as leads screw up Ninjask with Bullet punch. BP also hurts Rampardos badly. Lucario can also hit with Extreme Speed. Pokemon with Protect can wear down Heracross. Not survive him, but wear him down. Basically, if my plan works, I win. If it doesn't work, I fail miserably. Yanmega also messes up Ninjask as he has speedboost too. It can hypnotize the pokemon i BP to. Focus sash also messes the sweepers up.

What do you do about Swampert? He can phaze all of your Baton Passers and set up Rocks that will stroke Ninjask and Zapdos everytime they switch back in to set up a Pass. Scizor also can't do much to him with Bullet Punch.

The only chance you have at beating it is Heracross or Salamence. They are both basically ruined after a 1v1 confrontation with MixPert leaving very little to Baton Pass to. Bullet Punch also wrecks all of your sweepers, negating the speed boosts. A team with a phazing MixPert and CB Scizor could probably 2v6 this team, lol. I'm not really sure what to recommend as I can't decipher what this team is exactly. It's like half Baton Pass with some random sweepers thrown in.

can Zapdos not learn hp grass? I'm having some trouble with it. If it can, I'd use it to beat Skarmory w/ whirlwind and Hp Grass for Swampert. I'd take out the Bullet Puncher without Baton Passing anyways. ZApdos, and Salamence can handle steels pretty well.

Yes, your Zapdos can learn HP Grass.
That should slightly cover your Pert Prob and you could always use predictions to win. Personally I think your team is fine.

I've had the same problem. It has to do with the IVs. When you save it should give you a choice of which IV you want to change. Try each option and then check to see if it changed the HP type before saving. Keep trying the different options until the HP remains as Grass then save.

Ok, aside from HP Grass on Zapdos, you really need to take Swords Dance off of Heracross and put on Night Slash. This will always OHKO Gengar with the Guts boost. The problem with him is that none of your baton passers draw moves that he resists, unless someone is throwing EQs at Scizor. To fix this I suggest either replacing Zapdos with Jolteon (with HP Grass obviously) or just getting rid of Heracross all together. I've used the Jolteon Heracross combo (passing an agility or two to Hera) and it can devasting to almost any team.

@Minato : Baton pass agility to Rampardos coming in on a fire or Heracross coming in on an earth power and use earthquake or close combat, respectively.

If your aiming for a mini baton pass then I would suggest a combination of Baton Pass Gliscor and Dual screen Bronzong. I never really liked the idea of mini baton pass as it is very inconsistant and most of your recievers are very frail and will have trouble surviving very long especially when you factor in Flame Orb and Life Orb. Basically, if anyone has a priority user such as CB Scizor then they will have little trouble stopping you. You can give Zapdos Heat Wave or put Magnezone on the team who also happens to get dual screen.

Just a few thoughts:

- While ninjask is fast, what about taunt leads? Even though some of the popular taunts are psychic types you can't x-scissor for two turns to wear off the taunt.
- Does Heracross really need swords dance? The flame orb equip is giving him a mini swords dance and with the burn its not a pokemon that can last long, especially with its speed. I think you're wasting a turn setting up swords dance (that is if you can get it up at all). I'd say change it for either stone edge or nightslash/persuit depending on what you fear more: flying or ghosts

You're team is a little ice weak and stealth rock weal, you might want to sort that out.

Sorry its not much help but it's late where I am here, if you want any more help just send me a message :)

Ok yeah, I changed the Swords Dance. BY Taunt leads, you mean Aerodactyl and Azelf? I can 2HKO Azelf and Aerodactyl with Swords Dance for Aerodactyl. Or, just switch.

I would recomment 252 speed on ninjask as it's too frail to take a hit, and substitute would block most attacks anyways. I would also use a set of protect, substitute, swords dance and baton pass@leftovers. Run jolly or timid as your nature and use 248 hp,252 speed and 8 in 1 defense, so you can switch into stealth rock twice and live. You should change swords dance on herracross to night slash to catch gengar on the switch in. If your not good at predicting, don't use it as gengar will always outspeed and ko with shadow ball
or hp fire. Your team also needs more bpers, because if ninjask dies, all of your slow but powerful sweepers will get destroyed by a salemece, lucario or anything else faster than base 85, such as a flygon. Good luck with your team!

I have a few suggestions:

First, I'd give Ninjask Protect over Substitute and Focus Sash over Leftovers. Ninjask isn't really going to be passing Subs to any of its teammates anytime soon, so Protect and Focus Sash ensures that Ninjask can get at least +2/+2 to its target of choice. Protect allows you to scout your opponent's first move and get a free Speed Boost. I also suggest changing the EV spread to 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def. The EV's give Ninjask an odd HP stat, allowing it to switch into SR twice with 1 HP to spare, assuming it hasn't taken any other damage. I also suggest changing Ninjask's nature to Adamant unless you're paranoid of opposing Ninjask. At first, that sounds stupid, but it really isn't. While neutral-speed or even +Speed Ninjask will sometimes get outsped by opposing Scarfers, almost nothing will outspeed Ninjask after it Protects and gets the first free Speed Boost.

Rampardos is extremely strong, but even +6 Speed cannot save it from Scizor's Bullet Punch, which will really hurt Rampardos. It is also very frail, making it rather hard to pass to. I personally prefer Swampert in that place. I'd use a spread that uses at least some speed if not max speed, since even +2 Speed at 140 or 156 Speed is quite disappointing. It is also easy to pass to since Swampert's only weakness, Grass, is 4x resisted by Ninjask, and Swampert resists Fire and Ground. Assuming you run max Speed, max Attack, and a Speed-neutral nature, your Swampert will basically be attacking with the power of a +2 SD Lucario and more speed than a once-DD'd Jolly Gyarados. Earthquake, Ice Punch, and Waterfall are my three recommended moves; the last move should be something like Stone Edge or SR. However, keep in mind that, since this Pert is not meant to hits, Swampert will not be as bulky as usual. Lum Berry and Leftovers are good item choices for Swampert.

Heracross is good, but it shares way too many weaknesses with Ninjask. As such, you'll find that you'll be running Heracross on its own most of the time. This leaves it extremely vulnerable to quicker attackers who can easily deal a burned Heracross enough damage to severely shorten Heracross's survivability. In addition, you have three Bug-types on your team, which (as you've said) gives you a glaring Fire-weakness. You might want to change it, though I have no ideas atm...

You really don't need Scizor and Zapdos to Baton Pass, since you're mainly creating 2-Pokemon chains. With one attack apiece, your team will be very easy to wall once your bread-and-butter attackers are gone. If you want to keep them on your team, I'd use the CB Scizor and one of the Defensive Zapdos sets.

That's it for now; gl with your team!

I suggest you read the rules, in particular:
3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.
