Hey Smogon, Back with my 3rd 5th Generation team. I generally wanted to make this team around Uguamosu. It peaked at 400 when Played Carefully but felt needed a bit more Improvement And thus on to the team.
Team At A Glance
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sazandora @
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Draco Meteor
Fire Blast
Surf
U-turn
Sazandora is an excellent lead Pokemon for the team and a great Revenge Killer. Choice scarf lets me out speed a majority of leading Pokemon hitting them hard or U-Turning to Espeon If im sensing they are going to set up SR or spikes which is fairly easy. Draco Meteor for denting counters early and for revenging dragon types that hurt my team a great level. Fire Blast for OHKOs on Forry and Nattorie. Surf so Heatran doesn’t wall this set completely. Saza greatly appreciates getting Calm Minds being passed to her from Espeon but sadly most of the times I am forced to a position whereas she has to U-turn to the next counter if they completely wall me.
EVs: 252 HP / 60 Def / 196 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
Thunder Wave
Stealth Rock
Power Whip
Gyro Ball
Nattorei is my Stealth Rock setup if my opponent lacks the move for espeon to bounce it back with Magic Mirror. Natt also serves as my go to guy when an opponents pokemon uses Outrage. Thunder Wave is extremely helpful if Kingdra/Ludicolo comes in and tries to sweep my team (which they have done on numerous occasions) Crippling any member of a rain team is the only chance the team has winning against the majority of rain teams that I have faced. When Gyarados is present I usually send in this thing and Power Whip it to death. Not much to say about him, It walls like a beast er, um wall?
Espeon @
Trait: Magic Mirror
EVs: 252 HP / 40 SDef / 216 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Calm Mind
Psychic
Wish
Baton Pass
Oh Espeon, this kitten of the sun has saved my ass so many times it’s ridiculous. Her ability Magic Mirror is definitely a key part for this team to set up, reflecting back SR, TS, Spikes and any other unexpected status that tries to plague the team. She always manages to pass at least one Calm Mind to a team member, and if predicted correctly she takes out atleast one other pokemon on the opposing teams. Barring Starmie my teams health depletes rather quickly so Wish support is definitely needed to keep them healthy enough until all counters are for Uguramosu to sweep. Espeon is a tremendous team player and would not replace it for any pokemon on this team.
Starmie @
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 88 HP / 252 SAtk / 168 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
Rapid Spin
Thunderbolt
Surf
Recover
A star pokemon but not yet the star of the team. Starmie is the most reliable pokemon in the team to take a hit, absorb status, damage back, and heal off its battle wounds. If Espeon goes down early in the match because of some stupid blunder by me, Starmie is the back up plan to keep entry hazards off the field for good. She scares away dragon types bluffing the Ice Beam so Sazandora can pick them off later on in the match. I didn’t go 252/252 because I wanted Starmie to retain a bit more bulk for longetivity. If not mistaken 88 hp EV’s gives it 283 health which is the maximum Hp recovery? Im not sure exactly some one help me with that one. Starmie checks Gyra who is a huge pain in the ass for my team to kill and pretty much good game if it gets in a DD.
Breloom @
Trait: Technician
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Spore
Mach Punch
Bullet Seed
Swords Dance
Techniloom has been this teams saving grace. It one-hit-KO a Gliscor with Bullet Seed after Rocks and a Swords Dance. Breloom is also my Dory and T-tar check which Uguramosu despises. After it takes out a pokemon Shandera usually comes in which I opted for Shed Shell over Life Orb and switch in Starmie to Surf or double switch to a counter. Im able to get in a spore on a slower poke and begin a mini sweep before Uguamosu comes out. Again not much to say about him but he is a real team player and the team wouldn’t have the same structure without him.
Ürugamosu @
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
Butterfly Dance
Bug Buzz
Fire Blast
Hidden Power [Rock]
Ever hear your sister freak out, and call you into the room to kill a bug? Well that’s what other battlers do when they accidentally see this thing. I try to keep this guy hidden until the very end or if they have 2-3 pokemon left and attempt to sweep after a Butterfly Dance. This mon is not as broken as people may think but it does cause a lot of trouble and can sweep an unprepared team if taken all the careful steps to remove its counters and keep entry hazards off the field which this team does well. There have been times where this thing doesn’t even show its face the entire battle as the team holds it own without him.
Conclusion: This was one of my more successful teams but is still extremely weak to the ever so common Rain Teams and faster dragons. Any Suggestion on how this team can be improved is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading, Rate/ Hate and Happy Battling!!
