This is my OU team that I use for wifi battles. This team works pretty well but I'd like some feedback to see if it can be improved.
At a glance:
It took me a long time to put this team together. I had to breed for natures and egg moves as well as get shards and TMs for the right attacks. So without further ado, here they are:
Swampert
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
EV: 252 HP, 4 ATK, 252 DEF
-Stealth Rock
-Earthquake
-Ice Beam
-Protect
Swampert starts things off by setting up stealth rock. The given EVs make Swampert bulky enough to survive whatever other leads may throw at it, it can take physical hits later in the game, and take on Salamence and Choice Band Tyranitar. Ice Beam takes down Aerodactyl that use taunt and does good damage to Celebi, Salamence, and Flygon. Earthquake hits Jirachi for supereffective damage and hits Azelf pretty hard as well. Protect scouts out movesets, buys a turn for leftovers recovery, and stops explosion.
Tyranitar
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Jolly
EV: 4 HP, 252 ATK, 252 SPE
-Dragon Dance
-Stone Edge
-Crunch
-Fire Punch
Tyranitar is the main force behind this team. It brings in sandstorm and can rip right through unprepared teams. The extra speed provided allows Tyranitar to outspeed revenge killers like Infernape and Starmie after a dragon dance. Crunch and Stone Edge are absolutely lethal, although I have to say I wish they would make a strong rock type move with 100% accuracy. It seems like stone edge misses every time I'm in a pinch. Fire Punch takes down pesky steel types like Skarmory, Forretress, Lucario, and most importantly Magnezone and Scizor. Magnezone is dangerous to my Scizor and opposing Scizor threaten Tyranitar with bullet punch. Fire Punch also deals with the occasional grass types like Roserade and Breloom that are especially threatening to Swampert.
Lucario
Item: Choice Specs
Nature: Modest
EV: 4 HP, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
-Aura Sphere
-Shadow Ball
-Dragon Pulse
-Vacuum Wave
Lucario is one of my favorite Pokemon. Of its many options, I chose to use a specs set primarily because my team otherwise lacks a strong special attacker. Aura Sphere is Lucario's strongest attack and its most reliable with its perfect accuracy. Shadow Ball KOs ghost types like Gengar, Dusknoir, and the Rotom formes as well as Psychic types like Celebi and Starmie. In addition Aura Sphere and Shadow Ball together are unresisted. Dragon Pulse gives Lucario a strong option against Salamence, Dragonite, Flygon, and Kingdra. It also makes for good neutral coverage. Vacuum Wave is a fantastic priority move that lets Lucario revenge kill as well as take out fast frail pokemon and anything at low health. Blissey is a problem for this set, but she is checked by my Scizor, plus Tyranitar can set up on her and deal solid damage with stone edge.
Scizor
Item: Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
EV: 248 HP, 252 ATK, 8 Spe
-U-turn
-Bullet Punch
-Superpower
-Pursuit
Scizor is an amazing revenge killer with its priority bullet punch and an amazing scout with STAB U-turn. As I said before Superpower is primarily for dealing with Blissey who can otherwise cause trouble for this team and it's the best option against opposing Scizor who threaten Tyranitar. It also deals with Magnezone and Heatran who commonly try to kill Scizor. Pursuit is for ghosts like Gengar and Rotom, Psychics like Starmie, and anything that I think is going to switch out when Scizor comes in. The ever present fire type weakness is absorbed by Starmie, Tyranitar, and Flygon, and those three can easily KO those fire types. Starmie also spins away entry hazards that can cause problems for Scizor who switches in often.
Starmie
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Modest
EV: 136 HP, 156 DEF, 216 SPE
-Rapid Spin
-Thunderbolt
-Surf
-Recover
Starmie provides much needed rapid spin support, recover combined with its speed lets it quickly heal from whatever damage it takes, and its natural cure heals it from the poison caused by toxic spikes. Thunderbolt is this team's best way to deal with Gyarados. Tyranitar is the only other pokemon who can hit it with super effective damage but stone edge is less reliable. Starmie may not be as fast with Modest nature but the extra power lets Starmie deal solid damage with its STAB surf. Scizor and Tyranitar both can come in on attacks aimed at Starmie. Scizor in particular works well with Starmie as it can easlily deal with grass types like Celebi while Starmie absorbs Scizor's fire weakness.
Flygon
Item: Choice Scarf
Nature: Adamant
EV: 4 HP, 252 ATK, 252 Spe
-Earthquake
-Outrage
-U-turn
-Fire Blast
Last but not least is Flygon. Flygon works well with Scizor as a revenge killer and scout. Earthquake is its primary STAB attack providing great coverage and hitting Magnezone and Heatran who threaten Scizor and Lucario. Outrage is for weakened dragons like Salamence, Dragonite, and Kingdra as well as anything that Earthquake can't handle. U-turn forces switches and makes Flygon a great scout alongside Scizor. Fire Blast is first and foremost for dealing with enemy Scizor that threaten Tyranitar with bullet punch. It also hurts Skarmory and Bronzong who are immune to Earthquake.
I'm pretty new to competitive battling, so I welcome any suggestions as to how I can make this team better.
