The main basis of this team is not to repeat types, but still have a fearsome team.I hope you enjoy the read, and please rate while you criticize. This was my best team before gen 5, and now I'm wondering if it can stand with the changed metagame. The point of reviewing this old team over is to see if there roles can be filled by pokemons who are better fit. From some testing the pokemon most affected by this new metagame is Jirachi which was once used as a anti-lead, but "team review" makes the title, Lead, obsolete. It'd be great if you guys can point out any needed adjustments.

Jirachi@ChoiceScarf
Jolly;80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Def
~ Iron Head
~ Stealth Rock
~ Trick
~ Fire Punch
My lead. Lays down SR, attacks with a STAB move with double the normal flinching rate and tricking away choice scarf allowing him to U-Turn at will. Many leads won't even be able to setup with the flinch-rate making Jirachi a superb anti-lead. Fire Punch makes good type coverage with Iron Head as well as put a dent on Magnezone if he gets trapped.

Tyranitar@ChoiceScarf
Jolly;4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~ Stone Edge
~ Superpower
~ Pursuit
~ EQ
Choice Scarf Tyranitar is really helpful revenge killer hitting many targets such as Weavile. Stone Edge, and Crunch for STAB. Tyranitar easily outspeeds many common threats with scarf as well. I felt like it was good to give Jirachi Fire Punch, and let T-tar use Earthquake just so there would be more pokemon on my team to utilize it. You never know if Gliscor gets out, leaving me without a ground move.
94.png

Gengar@ExpertBelt
Timid;4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Shadow Ball
~ Thunderbolt
~ Focus Blast
~ Giga Drain
Standard Gengar with great coverage, and expert belt is necessary to finish off the job. Thunderbolt takes care of those bulky water types(especially Gyrados), and certain flying types. Not to mention my team's inability to handle water types. Shadow Ball for the STAB. Focus Blast generates ridiculous damage with Gengar's special attack. Giga Drain for Swampert/Gastrodon and bulky ground types such as Hippowdown. I got to think that whenever I use Gengar it's with super-effective moves, so to spare the already frail ghost type of more punishment I replaced Expert Belt with Life Orb, increasing his longevity.
134.png

Vaporeon@Leftovers
Bold;188 HP / 252 Def / 68 Spe
~ Wish
~ Heal Bell
~ Scald
~ Ice Beam
Standard Support Vaporeon as a Healer, utilizing Wish to heal the team. Surf for the STAB, HP Electric for the coverage against. Since the 4th Gen, I've had to make many changes with Vaporeon to keep up with the team. For one, I replaced Surf with Scald because of the high chance of burn(similar to Discharge over Thunderbolt with Zapdos). I also decided that my team had enough electric-type moves, and gave him Ice Beam for more overall coverage. Lastly, to keep teams that rely of status changes in check, I gave Vaporeon Heal Bell. This is especially useful for toxic spikes that would inflict half the team.

Zapdos@LeftOvers
Bold;248 HP/224 Def/36 Spe
-Discharge
-Heat Wave
-Roar
-Roost
Zapdos acts as great counter for Scizor, taking a +6 BulletPunch like a champ(like that situation would ever arise), and any other of it's common attacks. Roost to heal Zapdos while it switches in to SR. Discharge over Thunderbolt for the paralyzing chance. Phazing is pretty important to a team in my opinion because it resets stats in case a pokemon is pretty deep in setting up or if I wanted to take advantage of SR. Zapdos is usually bulky enough to send pokemon out without getting sweeped himself.

Gliscor@ToxicOrb
Jolly; 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 Spe
~ Swords Dance
~ Earthquake
~ Protect
~ Ice Fang
Ahhh I love this moveset. Comes in withstands hits, sets up, and then sweeps. EQ for the STAB, and Ice Fang over Stone Edge because of better coverage while being able to come in on other Gliscors. His new ability, Poison Heal, comes in handy with many situations. For one it can step in if I predict a Spore, Thunder Wave, or Toxic coming my way. It also frees up an extra slot for Protect which allows Gliscor to scout and take advantage of it's healing ability.

Changes in Bold.

For Gengar, giga drain>> energy ball. It's only weaker by 5 points, and it gives you a great form of recovery from life orb.

I would say that your main issue is going to be a weakness to Water. Since your Vaporeon is not in the Rain, I'm assuming that it's a Water Absorb variant. If Vaporeon dies, you don't have anything to take any sort of Hydro Pump. Which means that if they manage to get Rain up, even for one turn, your Tyranitar will die on the switch in due to the lack of a Defensive set. However, the rest of the team looks pretty solid. But with Rain as a central point of the metagame, you're in for a world of hurt if they start firing off Water moves.

Nice looking team but I do have a couple suggestions.

First off is I would suggest pursuit over crunch on tyran. This lets you trap any poke weak to it that you switch into, and almost guarantee the death. I think this is much more valuable over crunch since you'll get more kills this way!

Secondly, I feel it's dangerous to run zapee with no spin support... I'm sure you know this, but I thought I'd mention it. If it's easy to get a spinner in there I definitely would

Thirdly, you have zapdos for electric attacks, and gengar carries giga drain if it's rain thats your worry here. So I say replace HP electric with roar. Every team needs a phazer, since you won't be able to stop evvvery poke from setting up, but with roar you can stop the sweep! Also it'll help rack up some SR damage.

Overall good team though! Hope these comments are helpful!

Like I said it's a successful 4th gen team I had that so far is pretty good in 5th gen but obviously has some stick-ups due to the new metagame. That's why I posted it, to update it a bit.

@mklo14: thanks for the suggestions! For Tyranitar it's always been a hard decision between the two but I see where pursuit would be more effective. I'll change it.

As for a spinner, any suggestion that would fit with team? I usually roost if SR is up though.

Vaporeon has Roar.

One thing I noticed: if you're switching this to be a Gen 5 team, give your gliscor poison heal and a toxic orb, it will make you immune to status and give better healing

Yeah I was thinking about that but then I'd lose roost, but then again I'd be able to switch into status inducers and have a extra slot. Pretty tough decision.

I would probably add a Tentacruel over Zapdos. Just for the ability to set-up and to tank Scizor just as well. You'll want some Hazards to maintain good offensive pressure. Use a set that you like.

Hmm, interesting After some damage calculation Zapdos takes each move from Scizor better, so I'll keep Zapdos around, giving up the extra hazards I could set-up.

from our match, on po, id say you are weak to swords croak. hes faster than all your pokemon, plus ohkos 2/3, if not all your team. metagross sr might help with this

Last bump
Sidenote:It's a genuinely effective team but there seems to be alot of kinks because I still get beat with it some of the time. Help needed

In a rush right now so I can't go in depth. A issue I see with this team is its trouble to deal with dancers. Dnite can come in against a ttar, gengar or jirachi locked into a bad move, set up a dragon dance and potentially sweep. I'm pretty sure +1 dragonite can outspeed scarf ttar (correct me if I'm wrong), and it can OHKO everyone on your team besides vaporeon with SR help. However, it seems very difficult for vaporeon to outstall anything because of sandstorm + no protect so it doesn't get the wish recovery right constantly so I think you should replace heal bell with protect and see how it works.
At the moment, I can't really find a quick-fix to dragons (especially multiscale dnite) so the best option is to play around it and be very careful.

Hm you're right, protect would be more useful. Guess I'll test not being able to rid my team of statuses for awhile. As for d-nite, I feel as if ttar outspeeds it but either way not much of a problem unless Gliscor or Vaporeon are KO'd.

Alright so let's get this team updated shall we, we need to get a big boy rate in here!

Alright first off, ditch Scarf Rachi. Seeing as how this isn't an offensive team, a dedicated lead isn't needed anymore (as you thought). You already have a Scarfer to revenge (Tyranitar) so I presume you would just dump the Scarf anyway. Your team has pretty good synergy, however Jirachi is your only resitance to Rock type attacks, so the replacement has to be a solid Rock resistance. Your team also lacks a priority move which; pretty much a necessity in BW.

Let's introduce you to a new face in BW; Conkledurr. Conkledurr not only sports an awesome Goattee, but an astonishinly powerful Mach Punch to dent threats. I'm going to recommend the Bulk Up set for your team seeing as how it can use Leftovers to bypass the Sandstorm damage as well as Recover HP with Drain Punch easily, however feel free to try out the Choice Band set. Choice Band will let you have a more powerful Mach Punch and if you chose, a Drain Punch that gives more recovery. Choice Band will give you a powerful wall breaker that your team currently lacks.

Speaking of sand, what exactly does Sand benefit this team other than an anti-weather counter? I don't know what could replace Ttar in that regard, however Tyranitar's role of Pursuit trapping would be missed greatly since Conkledurr loves those Ghost and Flyers being gone. Because of this I have two suggestions. Stick with Tyranitar and gone with a Bulkier specially defensive set OR slap a "Specially Defensive" CB Scizor on your team. Specially Denfesive Ttar can pursuit trap and take on the role of setting up Stealth Rock. He's probably the best counter to the Lati's (who would otherwise give your team trouble) out there and retains the Sand that you want for weather control.

However, Specially Defensive Scizor gives you a Pursuit trapper and the coveted Bullet Punch to get Dragons (he also gives you a steel type you absolutely need in BW). Scizor is specially defensive to trap the Lati's/Gengar/Zam better and counter Reuniclus harder (reuni walls conkldurr hard). You have Zapdos to fry Jellicent and Gengar too. I was on the fence of suggesting Weaville, but she adds an unnecessary SR weakness to your team. Vaporeon has execellent synergy with Scizor. If Scizor is at the point where SR has weakened him, you can easily pass a Wish to Scizor. A Grass type attack at Vaporeon is 4x resisted by Scizor and the extra special bulk let's him take Electric moves.

By the way, if you got the Scizor route (which I personally would) you lose out on an SR setter! To fix this gap in my rate, I am going to suggest you replace Gengar. Seeing as how you have Zapdos and Gliscor, you already have two very solid Fighting type switchin's. Therefore, Gengar's role of a strong special attacker with SR is needed. Heatran is perfect for this job, able to dish out huge damage with Fire Blast with ease. Your team actually has a Sun team weakness (well by not running Ttar) because it lacks a Fire resistance that isn't Vaporeon, which would get wrecked by Chlorophyll sweepers. Heatran will be able to set up SR against Sun teams with ease. He will also give you another Steel type to resist Dragon attacks. The set is up to you, Choice Scarf or Offensive. Just note that without Choice Scarf your team is on the slow side (personally I would go with CS). Conkledurr/Gliscor should be able to get rid of Blissey while Scizor can get you the kill on the Lati's pretty easily with Pursuit/U-turn.

Small Changes:
-Take Heal Bell off Vaporeon for Protect. Think about it you are running Heal Bell with Poison Heal Gliscor!!!
- Ice Beam is a good choice, however Toxic should be taken into serious consideration for Vaporoen to stall out certain threats (effective with Wish+Protect)
- Taunt>Protect on Gliscor, as this will give your team a mean stall breaker and a way to prevent entry hazards from setting up.

Notes:
-Make sure on Heatran set the IV's to 30 HP and 30 Defense, then set the Spe IV back up to 31
- Set Conkledurr's Spe IV's all the way to zero so Payback hits more threats harder.
- Chople Berry is used on Ttar to Pursuit Trap Gengar more reliably
-On Scizor his Spe EV's is 12, you can possibly put one back into Sp. Def, however don't let the stat go below or at 167.
