Team Ditto OU!

Team Ditto OU!

Hi, and welcome to my RMT!

To start it off, I would like to share my thoughts in building the team, starting off with the team-building process!

Team Building Process!

I started off with my best Pokemon, Ditto! And it's shiny!

This is one of the best revenge killers ever. It can copy stat boosts, abilities, and stats themselves! It can basically turn a pokemon against it. Usually scarfed to out-speed things and not have to deal with luck. I love this guy, and it's sad how underused it is in the metagame.

Gliscor was added to the team because he is a fantastic physical wall. He can take Ice Punches and other super effective physical attacks with ease and does a great job walling resistant attacks and neutral ones.

Magnezone deals with the pesky steels out there, including Ferrothorn and Scizor. It carries HP Fire to annihilate those Pokemon and also deals well with Skarmory and other steels. I also find it to work well against dragons locked into Outrage and other threats that would harm my pokes.

Salamence was added for the purpose of being a great physical-based mixed sweeper. I usually like to have one dragon on my team and Salamence fits the bill perfectly with Moxie boosting its attack every time it kills something. It's vast movepool and great offensive stats is something I appreciate when choosing a Dragon-type.

Starmie is a great addition to my team, as hazards are a big bane to my Pokemon. Toxic Spikes, Spikes, Stealth Rock, all gone thanks to Starmie's Rapid Spin. Also, it provides excellent BoltBeam coverage along with a STAB Hydro Pump!

Sableye was added so that I would have another status-causer. Anything without Guts gets crippled and it also is immune to common Fighting attacks and also to normal ones. Prankster is one of the best abilities and allows me to stall out opposing Pokemon. Pokemon such as Terrakion and physical Landorus could walk all over this team without Sableye, and Will-O-Wisp will cripple them.

The Team!

Sableye (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Recover
- Night Shade
I love Sableye. It causes so many problems for many different pokemon. Prankster destroys stat-boosters, screenies, entry hazards, you name it. Taunt is essential for stopping many OU pokemon that need non-damaging moves to sweep or support the team. Will-O-Wisp crushes all pokemon that rely on their attack stat to deal damage. Recover is essential to getting lost HP back and stalling out other pokemon while they are poisoned or burned. Night Shade hits all types besides normal for a decent 100 HP stall. This can change the game as it can easily cripple pokes that would otherwise sweep this team.

Magnezone @ Air Balloon
Trait: Magnet Pull
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 248 HP / 8 SDef
Modest Nature
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]

One highly underused pokemon that I don't see very often. This thing kills and traps steels like no other. Also, it has MANY resistances with good defenses that let it come in on mostly anything. Choice Band Scizor? No problem. Trap it, set up a sub, and let it watch in horror as you proceed to annihilate it. Ferrothorn? Set a sub and HP Fire it. Skarmory? Set a sub and thunderbolt it to death. This sub also lets it attack once more without getting hurt by a counter after you kill [Insert Steel Here]. Flash Cannon is a great STAB move that deals with most dragons like Garchomp and Salamence. Thunderbolt is another STAB that kills water-types and also flying types. Hidden Power Fire is to kill most steels that it traps. Magnezone has plenty of resistances and does it's main job, trapping steels very well.

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature
- Toxic
- Protect
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

Gliscor is one of the best physical walls and it looks really nice as well. Poison Heal is the best ability for Gliscor because it gives so much health back, twice as much as Leftovers. It can take even super-effective physical hits and still escape with plenty of health. Toxic and Protect are the bread and butter of the set, stalling out many pokemon and slowly sapping their health. Earthquake is for main STAB and also kills frail attackers such as Alakazam. Gliscor can also sponge Outrages and other dragon type hits and OHKO or 2HKO most dragons back with Ice Fang. Overall, Gliscor is a superb option for me when choosing my physical wall because it can tank many hits well and attack or stall back. Also, Gliscor is a status absorber when Toxic Orb activates, which is very helpful as well.

373.gif

Salamence (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Moxie
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake

Salamence is truly a menace to the OU metagame. After one or two Dragon Dances, it can sweep teams. Dragon Dance increases Attack and Speed, very important stats to start sweeping. Outrage is self-explanatory, a great STAB that wrecks many Pokemon that aren't steels. Fire Blast is for the ice and steel types that threaten Salamence's sweep. Earthquake is for Heatran and other Pokemon who resist or are immune to the other attacks. Moxie also raises Attack when it faints a Pokemon, so that is very useful as it increases Salamence's sweep possibilities.

121.gif

Starmie @ Choice Specs
Trait: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Rapid Spin

Starmie really provides utility as a quick Rapid Spinner for my team. Hazards such as Stealth Rock and Toxic Spikes threaten Flying-Types such as Salamence or Pokemon on the ground such as Sableye and Ditto. Also, having Natural Cure lets it absorb statuses well and it allows it to switch in and rapid spin Toxic Spikes and leave with no more Toxic. Hydro Pump is a great STAB that lets it hit Fire, Rock, and Ground types for super-effective damage. BoltBeam gives near-flawless coverage and paired with Hydro Pump, provides coverage to all Pokemon types with the rare exception of Lanturn and Lightningrod Seaking. Choice Specs are to hit hard with special attacks. Starmie is a great asset to my team as it provides a great special attacker and a rapid spinner in one. It also goes well with Magnezone as typings go.

Ditto @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Imposter
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd
IVs: 30 HP / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd
Hardy Nature
- Transform

Ditto. The best Pokemon EVER. It looks amazing, it can transform, and more! Imposter is truly amazing. It copies Effort Values, it copies stat boosts, it copies Abilities, it copies everything besides IV's and HP. Most Pokemon act as a check or counter to themselves, which helps Ditto's case. Ditto copying stats leads to many sweeps and ragequits. When people set-up, they are just asking to be swept by Ditto, who copies their stats, boosts, and abilities. Choice Scarf lets Ditto out-speed anything that doesn't have a Choice Scarf. Ditto is the best revenge killer in the game and causes many rage-quits through my experiences with it. Ditto is a valuable addition to my team and most matches wouldn't have been won without it. The IV's are for Hidden Power Fire, so that way Ditto can hit more pokemon than with HP Dark or any other HP.

So that's the team, based on the best revenge killer/sweeper/rage-quit causer ever, Ditto!

Also, it does lack entry hazards, which isn't helping the cause for my team, but I'm not sure what to replace as I feel the team is cohesive together.

wow, this team is incredibly fun to use. just a suggestion though, why not run a special defense jirachi instead of magnezone? it doesn't really have a place, and jirachi can lay rocks and provide wish support.

EDIT: offensive toed rapes this team.. scarf kills literally everything. for this, i'd suggest taking out gliscor for a jellicent, still gets the walling of scizor done, and prevents keldeo in rain from rolling your team

Hello Ubiquity! That is very shiny team! However I feel that your team has some problems and I would liek to suggest some changes to fix them!

It seems that your team is weak to a lot of threats such as Mamoswine, Conkeldurr, Kyurem being the prominent ones. Worst of all, Ditto cannot kill them because usually they have movesets which cannot counter themselves.

Mamoswine can kill Magnezone, Salamence and Gliscor very easily, and the other pokemon cannot switch in safely due to being OHKO'd by Earthquake.

Conkeldurr can Ice Punch Gliscor and Salamence while Drain Punching Magnezone. Sableye's Will-o-wisp cannot do anything to him because of Guts. Starmie cannot switch in safely due to its low defenses

Kyurem's SubRoost EarthPower IceBeam can kill your whole team. What's worse, Ditto cannot imposter thanks to its sub up.

I suggest that you remove Sableye from your team, as it is pretty useless. I think you should replace it with something like Conkeldurr or Landorus-T as they are more useful and can also defeat physical attackers.

I also think that you can get some Hazard setters. Maybe you can change Magnezone to Heatran for setting Stealth Rock and also killing steels. If this is the case, Sableye > Conkeldurr and Magnezone > Heatran

I think this team needs some work and I hope the changes I suggested will make your team better!

I do think that might just work. Sun Teams and Venusaur do give this team trouble as well, I'll try Heatran. I'm thinking about Conkeldurr and Jellicent in replace for Sableye.
