Hello guys and welcome to my first ever RMT. I've been playing competitive pokemon on and off for most of my life, typically using teams comprised of just pokemon I thought would be cool to use. Because of this, my teams have never been super successful. This team however is the most fun, synergistic and successful team I have ever built. I've laddered to 1800 multiple times before (though I'm not sure whether or not this is particularly good). It all started when I learned about what the ability Magic Bounce and how I could make an Offensive team utilizing it. Also this team is named after the characters of a French Game, Dofus, of which I play. And so without further ado...
Feca (Espeon) (F) @ Light Clay
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Reflect
- Baton Pass
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Fire]
The mon that started it all. Fecas are shield casters and thats exactly what my Espy does. He's my go to switch in against hazard setters such as Skarm, Forry, and Ferrothorn as they can't do much against me. I can always get up reflect, turning 2HKOs from the above mentioned into 3HKO and then I can respond with HP Fire. There is also nothing better than getting a TTar to switch in, outspeed and proceed to baton pass into Terrakion, who then takes the predicted pursuit/crunch, gets the +1 and will definitely scare TTar out. Its can switch into Breloom well, provided that Breloom doesn't seed bomb. Its also good death fodder late game if it makes it that far.
Xelor (Starmie) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Psyshock
- Rapid Spin
I'm sure its obvious that Espy never lives through a match typically. And this is where Starmie comes in. there are certain SR users I would never bring Espy into such as Mamoswine, Heatran, Garchomp etc. And Starmie can Check most of them while giving me rapid spin support. I like Specs because I feel that defensive Starmie is too weak and LO loses too much health. This also gives me a semi-answer to rain which I do have problems with. I used to have Trick but I enjoy the extra coverage with 3 moves more. A Xelor is a "time-shifter" who is a very evasive ranged attacker that has support options for its team and I feel this fits Starmies role nicely.
Enutrof (Mamoswine) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Superpower
My check to dragons because I do not have a steel type. He can check slower versions of Heatran, especially ones that think it is adamant. Great against dragon spam. His great Offensive STABs can punch holes into many things including Landorus-T which gives Terrakion major problems. A great revenge killer with priority STAB Ice Shard, and it can net some surprise kills against mons such as Ferrothorn and Air balloon Heatran with Superpower. An Enutrof is very versatile, and can easily switch between supporting and offensive roles, giving it a very anti-meta feel in Dofus. I cannot think of a bigger anti-meta threat than Mamoswine.
Iop (Terrakion) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Rock Slide
My revenge killer who can clean up late game under right conditions. A good mon to use against opposing sand teams. His Dual STAB hits hard unless against a resist. I like the scarfed variant because it out speeds any relevant +1 threat not named scarfed Latios or opposing musketeer trio/keldeo. It also has a surprising amount of power for a scarfer. I use Rock Slide against mons I need to kill but cannot afford a miss such as +1 Volcarona, weakened +1 physical dragon, weakened +1 Gyarados etc. An Iop is the hardest hitter in the game (unboosted), and on my team that is exactly what Terrakion does.
Cra (Volcarona) (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Flame Body
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Giga Drain
One of my win conditions. A set up Volcarona can easily sweep an entire team at any moments notice provided that Heatran is gone, and the scarfer cannot OHKO Volcarona. Giga drain gives me an Option against a rain team and is my go to move when I need Volcarona to stay alive just a little bit as LO does kill it quick. It benefits the most from the work that Espy and Starmie Put in. It is however susceptible to status and can get crippled easily. I have yet to try a lum berry but I have not tested the difference in power. Fiery Dance over Fire Blast because of the reliability and the very appealing SpA increase that happens more than you think it would. A cra is an archer who almost always uses flaming arrows. Special attack don't come into contact with the opponent so I think this speaks for itself.
Sacrier (Dragonite) (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- ExtremeSpeed
- Fire Punch
My other win condition and probably the best dragon dancer in OU. At +1 Dragonite murders weakened teams and can get past weakened +1 dragons with ESpeed. Once again Heatran can wall the holy hell out of this set so that Starmie/Mamoswine/Terrakion will have to work hard to get past it. I can also count on DNite to take a hit if needed to with multiscale but the lack of roost is sometimes heartbreaking. Lum berry should always be the item of choice on DD DNite. Many times people will try to cripple DNite with status as I set up a DDance that turn only to realize I can heal it off AND I keep Multiscale intact which means that I will kill at least two mons. A Sacrier is a meatshield that hits hard after taking a hit and a DNite does that with multiscale and DDance.
Some things that give me trouble:
Heatran, Rotom-W, Scarf Latios, Gengar, Scarf Keldeo, Rain teams, Lando-T, Alakazam
Heatran walls my Two game enders but if I do have three mons that hit it hard so if i play correctly it should not be a problem. I can't really bring in any of my non game enders as it has a move to hit Starmie/Mamo/terrakion hard. Scarf Latios can outspeed my whole team and hit everything hard with draco meteor. I can't switch anything into Gengar so its guaranteed to get a kill most of the time. Scarf Keldeo is the same as Latios but it is a bit easier to check. As I am weak to water rain teams hurt. Lando-T effectively means I play w/o terrakion which admittedly hurts me way too much. Zam is just a problem with sash as I am almost guaranteed to lose a mon and his quick speed may mean that i lose two
I have considered Dropping espeon for someone more synergistic but then starmie has a higher workload removing hazards and I lose a switch into hazard setters w/o wasting volca. If I had another slot I feel this team could easily beat any team but that could be said about every team. I am open to suggestions and all suggestions are welcomed.
Thank you for taking your time to read my RMT and I look forward to making more
