Team 'Epic Fail' UnderUsed pokemon in OverUsed:
What, it seems crazy that one would want to use UU in an Primarily OU environment. But, I am sick of seeing Salamence and Tyranitar, so I decided to create a team of UU Pokemon that could function in OU which goes as follows:
Masquerade (Roserade) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Grass Knot
- Sleep Powder
- Toxic Spikes
I chose a Roserade as the lead in my team for its ability to scare off Ground-types such as Hippowdon and Swampert and outrun other common leads like Gyarados and Tyranitar. I could also use a Hidden Power type of ground for coverage of different switch-ins like: Magnezone, Metagross, Infernape and Heatran.
---
polami (Porygon2) @ Leftovers
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP/216 Def/42 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Discharge
- Recover
- Magic Coat
I chose Porygon because of its near exclusive ability, Trace, Porygon2 copies the abilities of its enemy. It can wall by switching in on Gyarados or Salamence and take their Intimidate and cut their Attack upon switching in, allowing it to easily take attacks from them.
---
Dokurog (Toxicroak) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 Atk/6 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
- Rain Dance
Toxicroak is quite unique because it can abuse Dry Skin by setting up Rain Dance for some free healing. Life Orb is really cool because when you have Rain Dance set up. You lose 10% of your HP with each attack due to Life Orb, but with Rain healing 12.5% you actually gain 2.5% each turn, while having the advantage of operating with a respectable Attack of 444.
---
Mimilop (Lopunny) (F) @ Sticky Barb
Ability: Klutz
EVs: 252 HP/252 Spd/4 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fire Punch
- Magic Coat
- Healing Wish
- Switcheroo
Lopunny has always been a Pokemon I never thought would be of any use to me, until I found out about its Klutz ability erasing the effects of its held item.
---
Fuwaride (Drifblim) (M) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 12 HP/2 Atk/252 Def/88 Spd/124 SAtk/32 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Rest
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
I chose Driftblim because of its huge Health stat, and ability to create chaos, when used correctly.
---
Mikaruge (Spiritomb) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/140 Atk/116 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Taunt
- Pain Split
- Sucker Punch
I wanted Spiritomb because Spiritomb can switch into every Psychic Pokémon, including and especially Azelf, with impunity, and hit them back hard with Sucker Punch or Pursuit, thus meaning it can be quite a lethal counter to a late game sweeper.
---
Alright, thank you for taking the time to take a look at my team, but if you have any question, comments, or concerns, then please post.
Thanks again, So Zetta Slow
