So with the advent of Genesect I've had to make new teams, and I've had a hankering to make an RMT so here we are. This team was built right at the start of BW2; with BW2's OU metagame becoming more and more like the ol' DW metagame I decided to use tactics that had been useful there and apply them to OU. I suppose this team came from the idea of wanting to use the item Salac Berry. In DW Salac Berry was usually used on Garchomp who is unfortunately banned. I decided to try it on Terrakion as his Substitute set is already so effective. This team peaked at #7 and was very reliable. It was also super fun to use; this team is themed on the Five Kage of the Naruto Universe(and one extra). The Kage were five individual leaders of the Hidden Ninja villages and revered as legendary warriors. Due to the scrappiness of one young ninja they were able to put aside their differences and join forces. Anyway lets get to the team. (Note, that I may add more stuff in the future, such as Kage pics or more info/threat list. But I just wanted to get something posted as I really miss the RMT forum :)

Built by using the simple Sand team formula: Two Sand Abusers(Terrakion and Stoutland) + Two Water Resists(Celebi and Latios) + Special Threat Checks(Tyranitar, for Latios plus Sand and Rotom-W, more Water Resist plus Tornadus)

Gaara (Tyranitar) (F) @
choiceband.png
(Choice Band)
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 36 Atk / 220 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Superpower

The always reliable Tyranitar. Rain was(and still is) everywhere is BW2 OU, and for good reason. I knew from earlier experience that this set is awesome at wining that fancy weather war. It marries the best of both worlds by having awesome SpDef bulk and pure power. It helps it be able to Pursuit trap Politoeds.

Tyranitar is there pretty much to get up Sand, take out opposing weather. Taking out the Lati@s siblings is a great bonus.

Tyranitar is named after the Kazekage Gaara. For any Naruto fans the comparison is obvious, Gaara has a masterful control of sand, and wouldn't you know Tyranitar summons the permant Sandstorm with its ability.

Tsunade (Celebi) @
Bag_Leftovers_Sprite.png
(Leftovers)
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Celebi is a great 'mon. He was added specifically because I had such a Fighting-type weakness, along with a nifty Water-type resist. Stealth Rock was an easy choice as I still needed the Entry Hazard. Leech Seed was an interesting choice but I'm always glad for it. It gives recovery but not just to Celebi; its like a tiny Wish that keeps on giving. It also adds more passive damage to the opposing team, which my team very much enjoys, and can be useful against last ditch pokemon. Psychic was chosen as a reliable stab and because Fighting-types were the reason Celebi was added. HP Fire was a recent addition; when my opponent sees me spamming Leech Seed they'll often sent out their own Grass types, also Ferrothorn was annoying enough without it.

Celebi is named after the Hokage Tsunade. Tsunade is the Kage of the Village of Hidden Leaves and Celebi is a premier Grass-type pokemon. Celebi also acts as a sort of Cleric for the team and Tsunade has the strongest healing jutsu of the five Kage.

Onoki (Latios) (M) @
choicespecs.png
(Choice Specs)
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Psyshock
- Trick

Latios was the latest addition to the team and probably has the flimiest reasons for being here, but is often times one of the most important pokemon. My two main sweepers are physical attackers so I really needed someone to blow them up. Hippowdon in particular could just sit and Slack Off all day long. Latios acts as my main wall breaker and Trickster(xD). Latios also provides those same useful resistances that Celebi was added for, ie a little more Breloom insurance is always a good thing.

Latios is named after the Tsuchikage Onoki. This one is more of a reach but Latios is named as such due to the similar nature of the twos attacks. Onoki has maybe one of the strongest special jutsu in the ninja world and Latios' Specs Draco Meteor carries the same infamy in the Pokemon world.

A (Terrakion) @
salac-berry.png
(Salac Berry)
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Substitute
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat

So this was the "creative" set of the team and kinda what I built around. Terrakion already as a superb Sub/SD set so I thought Salac Berry would fit right in. The great thing about this set is that it can be used for so many things. Sub stops Scizor from revenging, SD turns it into a Stall killer and Salac Berry can activate to tear Offensive teams apart(+2 Speed is unneeded when your base is already 108). Plus if my opponent lets me do all of those things, which isnt hard with a free turn, then look out. The Sand also increases his SpDef which actually lets him set up on a lot of pokemon. While he is weak to a lot of the priority being thrown around between Sub and his teammates he's never let me down.

Terrakion is named A after the powerful Raikage. Both are huge hulking brutes known for their sheer force and strength. They even look similar, as huge imposing masses.

Bag_Leftovers_Sprite.png
(Leftovers)
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 252 SDef / 144 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Gliscor is a pain, what deals with Gliscor the best, Rotom-W. That was essentially my thought process on this one =] But in reality this Plasma pokemon is the very glue of this team. Tornadus seemed like THE threat in early BW2 and I needed a reliable switch-in, enter SpDef Rotom-W. I just took the bulky attacker spread and put the SpAtk EVs into SpDef. It never let me down, it tanked Hurricanes and threatened with Volt Switches. Gliscor and Hippowdon were also big threats for my main sweepers and Rotom-W doesn't play any games with them. Also Mamoswine was very common in early BW2 so Rotom handled him well.

Mei is the Mizukage, meaning literally the Shadow of Water. Rotom-W is the hugely threatening Water-type pokemon on my team. Not much is known about the Mizukages power but her mere presence is dangerous.

Naruto (Stoutland) (M) @
lifeorb.png
(Life Orb)
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Return
- Superpower
- Ice Fang
- Crunch

So we all know how awesome Choice Band Stoutland is, but I was tired of having to switch out when they brought in something like Jellicent. Anyway I decided to try out Life Orb and I haven't looked back. Sure the passive damage adds up but not any more so than any other LO sweeper. This dude is brought in right at the end(unless to revenge kill something) and proceeds to literally take out the remains. His bulk is also alright letting him take rogue Bullet Punches. If the others have done their job, not much is stopping this pooch.

Believe it! :) The Big-Hearted Pokemon has to be none other than Naruto. Naruto was the one who really got all the Five Kage to join together for the Great War. Naruto also always comes through and beat the odds, and LO Stoutland can make a 6-0 run by himself.

So this team served me pretty well for the short amount of time I used it. It peaked at #7 on the PO server(PS was so laggy :() and never really had much trouble in Pre-Genesect OU. I wanted to post this because I found it super fun to use and also to try and spread around Sub/SD/Salac Terrakion(long name). Leave a Luvdisc is you enjoyed :)

Main flaw: No Steels. Most Dragonites aren't "too" bad as Stoutland revenges when they Outrage, and Lati@s are cock blocked by Tyranitar. But.. Hydreigon is a huge threat, it was relatively unseen at the time but hen I ran into one it could just come and go as it pleased nuking my whole team.

Importable:
Gaara (Tyranitar) (M) @ Choice Band

- Hidden Power [Fire]

Naruto (Stoutland) (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Return
- Superpower

- Crunch

Onoki (Latios) (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

Your celebi is really restricted because it has to run stealth rock, perhaps using rocks and chople berry on Tyranitar would help you out because then Celebi could run recover, or even a nasty plot set. Chople berry also allows for Tyranitar to take powerful fighting moves.

I don't play a lot of OU myself, but one thing I've noticed is a fairly large weakness to scizor. He can potentially OHKO every member on this team with his standard CB set and all bar stoutland with his STABs alone. You also seem pretty weak to things like DD dragonite which stoutland can't revenge kill easily.

You already have gliscor and hippo covered well between celebi and rotom-w so my proposal is that you switch out latios for choice scarf genesect. Genesect gives you an important dragon resistance and is able to revenge kill dragons as well as provide momentum for your team, two things I think it would definitely appreciate. It is also able to deal with scizor fairly nicely (particularly SD sets), pounding it with flamethrower. While unfortunately you won't be able to outspeed a +1 salamence, stoutland should be able to beat it down quite easily.

Here's the (very standard) set:

Genesect @choice scarf
evs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 atk Naive (+Spe, -SpD)
Trait: Download
-U-turn
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Flamethrower

Hey there nice sand team based around SubSalac Terrakion and congrats on your peak!

Ok Looking over your team you have no steel types. This makes you very vunerable to alot of Dragon-Types a notable one being Scarf Salamence. Who is capable of sweeping late game seeing as it can out speed Latios and nab a moxie boost. Other threats are dragon dancing dragons if a Haxorous, Salamence, or Dragonite can get to +2 it is insantly game over even at +1 these dragons can tear through your team if Stoutland is down and in Dragonites case he has Extreme Speed to bypass Stoutlands speed. So for this i suggest Forretress>Rotom-Wash With Forretress's massive defensive bulk and his ability to handle the threats with Hidden Power [Ice] he would be a great pokemon on your team. He works extremely well with Latios as Latios will make apposing Dragons not go for a fire move and instead be baited into going for Outrage where Foretress can come in either set up spikes or dispose of them. You dont lose to much without Rotom-W anyway as Forretress can even take on Gliscor with Hidden Power [Ice]. Also Forretress provides to methods on helping you achieve a late game sweep greatly. First of all with Spike ssupport your Stoutland who lacks Choice Band will have an easier time sweeping and the same thing goes for Terrakion. Also Rapid Spin is great for your sweepers as Toxic Spikes and Spikes on your side of the field will quickly dispose of Terrakion and Stoutland as when Toxic Spikes damage is stacked with Life Orb reciol and Terakions Substitutes a late game sweep will be difficult to achieve.

Now regarding your Celebi set even with Leftovers and Leech Seed Celebi will get quickly worn down by sandstorm damage and Volt Turn teams that are often times paired with sand will give you no time to nab health of them with Leech Seed. So Recover>Leech Seed will be more beneficial. Recover grants Celebi more reliable recovery letting it check the number of fighting threats that would challenge your team otherwise.

On your Stoutland I dont really see why it has 252 evs in speed it doesnt out speed anything notable except speed tying with +2 Dragonite who wont even get a chance to get to +2 with Ice Fang on Stoutland and Hidden Power [Ice] on Forretress. With 212 Speed evs you can out speed Scarf Thunderous-T and Scarf Landorus-I while you get a little investment into Hp so you can take priority moves nd last a little longer from Life Orb reciol.

Good luck with the team bro i hope i helped :)

I like the team.

I was wondering though, does Leech Seed work for you? Since I was following the Celebi QC, they felt that Leech Seed just wasn't doing anything that its other moves couldn't do (Thunder Wave and Perish cripple / Recover heals; while Leech Seed attempts to do both but just worse since it isn't definite). They feel that you pick according to which one you need since they do it better than Leech Seed. I was hoping you could post some logs maybe on you using Leech Seed since I like the idea of Leech but I just don't know how it would work since it's #1 switch in is Tornadus-T and Thunder Wave would generally be better.

As for my suggestion, since Genesect run around everywhere, Fire Fang would be better over Ice Fang on Stoutland. Also, I would use EB over LO if your not going to use CB since its coverage isn't bad and it bluffs perfectly.

Finally, I suggest you test Thunder Wave over WoW. WoW are good for stall teams, but with your fast-paced offensive team, thunder wave Rotom-w in theory is pretty cool idea. I haven't tested it and I'm not entirely sure if it would work better so I would just try it out and see how that goes.
