Team Fortress 2 Goldrush Update. Also, play TF2 FREE this weekend!

Hehe, just downloading it now :) Should be a pretty cool new level, + I'm a medic so those new weapons are really going to make things interesting.

EDIT: Also I love the "FYI I am a Medic - Use your bonesaw to kill 5 enemy Spies who have been calling for "Medic!".
Hilarious.
 
lol I just used the developer's console to get all of the new weapons. Though they're all probably going to be removed once the Valve people catch on. ]:
 
Hrm I'm having some trouble connecting to servers since the update... :(

They said they've disabled the command that let you do it. I'm also pretty sure they also took away all of the achievements of the people who used it.

Stupid Valve making it virtually impossible to get some of the achievements without the command. ]: lol kill 50 scouts with the medigun
 
It's 50 Scouts over time. You can use this weekend as a trial period to see how your computer runs it =) Source games are usually pretty scalable.

I was so tempted to do the console achievement unlock for the milestone achievement which unlocks the ubersaw =/ I'm sorta staying away from medic until most people have gone away from it again. It's my second most played class. I already had the 7k in one life and 1 mil total heal point achievements. A lot of them are dumb though -_-; Uber a Heavy and have him punch 4 opponents? Ugh. I want achievements that award smart play, not stupid play.
 
Firestorm, I do have steam and tf2, but lately my computer has given up the ghost and crashes after about 10 minutes of play :(
I briefly tried goldrush last night and did something pretty great though, when the cart was being escorted by a demoman crouches behind it and I sniped him perfectly in the head whilst we were moving (I'm sniper). Heh, the cart rolled all the way back; it was great.

If anyone wants to add me, I'm stoo99 on steam and in a few months when my brother goes to college I should get his gaming computer so I'll be available alot more then.
It's be great to meet up and play, since teamwork makes this game so goddamn fun; stuff like waiting for ubercharge and raping shit as pyro, or rushing a point in a perfectly organized medic circle :D
 
Bumping because I got playing this properly today and we should get some more people together. I'll add firestorm and anyone else who posts their steam name.

I was just on the achievement_box map earlier getting loads of achieves, managed to get the first milestone and chatted with some people, was pretty fun. Anyway, we need to organize this somehow.
 
Okay, I'm downloading it right now from the Steam website. I just want to ask a quick question. If I download it once, can I download it onto another computer without having to pay another $20 (via the same account that is).

Yep. You can download it as many times as you want on as many computers as you want.

I dont think we ever did get a game going, did we? Was it organized on IRC or something? If so I might have missed it.

Anyway, my steam name is yiffle, unlike stoo99 which i listed earlier in the thread, must not have been thinking when I typed it. Whats your steam name, steelicks?
edit: Just wanted to mention I got the ubersaw a week or so ago, heh.

Steelicks, add me - my username is Toxicraok (first thing that came into my mind... xP). Whats everybody's favourite server? Also, should we open a new thread which isn't only regarding Goldrush? I personally like Mario Kart the most, but I know many people don't.

Stoo - how do you get the special weapons?
 
Im a regular on a few different jump servers, a few 24/7 2fort servers, and the pc gamer server

And you get the new weapons by completing the new medic achieves. As you get a certain amount of the achieves a new weapon is unlocked, until are three are. I'd say that my favourite map is probably 2fort, because it's very scout-friendly (im scout) and can be totally frantic. Im not a fan of mario kart tbh
What classes are you guys/do you play most often?
 
Shall we create a thread regarding all of the game? Not just Goldrush? And that advert (play TF2 free this weekend!) is oldddd.
 
feel free mate... make it in the competitive games forum. hopefully we can make a big deal out of it and get lots of smogonites into it
