Team Hello Scizor

Intro: So I've recently decided to pick up this new generation and it reminds me a lot of RBY and it's fast pace. I started off with an Explosion team and then made a RBY style team where i started off with a sleeper and almost everything had twave.

I noticed that Scizor is similar to the Tauros of RBY where almost every team has one (For a good reason too). So this team is meant to not let Scizor in while doing damage at the same time.

Heatran (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Every team i tried to make doesn't have a solid starter but I've grown to like this set. It covers a lot of the popular leads while dishing out damage with a Life Orb. I usually which this out if I'm against a Metagross or Aero.

Electivire (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Cross Chop
- Thunderpunch
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake

This used to be a Scizor but Rotoms have been raping me with the Electric Attacks. I use a Choice Band because he often has to switch out after getting a boost so the band gives the most power. That Expert Belt strat never really worked for me.

Empoleon (M) @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 12 HP/12 Def/232 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Agility
- Surf
- Substitute
- Ice Beam

Empoleon is a very good late game sweeper especially if I don't show it til most of my team is dead. With its many resistants, this thing wreaks havoc near end game. I usually switch this thing in on an Outrage.

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/224 Def/32 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

A magnet for eletric attacks which the Electabuzz guy likes to soak up. This prevents Fighting Types from dominating my Steel Based team. I kind of depend on this dude too mush though.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP/228 Def/32 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Toxic
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Roost

Zapdos is my secondary Fighting counter and sort of walls Swampert which can prove to be annoying. I might which to HP Ice for better coverage. I kinda stuck this guy in there like my other electric type.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 240 HP/160 Def/32 Spd/76 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Iron Head
- Body Slam
- U-turn
- Wish

This is Ms/Mr (I dunno its genderless) I take Draco Meteors. I often change my Jirachi sets around because there are so many good ones. I'm debating a Choice Scarf one because DDers and mixed sweepers tear apart my team. Scizor could set up I guess but doesnt like a Paraslam.

How They Mold: The key to this team is predicting the Electric and Fire Attacks which destory my team, making me depend a lot of the first two pokes. I also have multiple pokemon to absorb a Draco Meteor (Jirachi, Heatran, Emploleon) which is akin to a Hyper Beam (sorta?).

Conclusion: This team fulfilled its role in not letting Scizor get in play. Prediction is key due to switching into fire attacks or eletric attackers with the respective counters. Probably its biggest weakest is a MixMence which is a very VERY big problem. I'm hoping for suggestions to take on those guys better preferably changing Jirachi, Electrive , and maybe Zapdos? This is isn't has fun to play as a paralyzing team due to all the standards but the fun comes of prediction because a miscue will often severely cripple my team.

(I'll edit and have some eye candy pictures tomorrow)

You seem to have a problem with synergy. Four out of the six Pokemon here are weak to Ground. You have Gyarados and Zapdos to sponge them, but because of the QuakeSlide combo(now Earthquake+Stone Edge)coming off of Tyranitar(just an example), I think you should swap Jirachi out for Bronzong. I also think your team could benefit from screens as well. Here is the set.

Bronzong@ Light Clay
Levitate
Relaxed nature (+Defense, -Speed)
252 HP/80 Attack/86 Defense/92 Sp. Defense
OR
252 HP/152 Attack/8 Defense/96 Sp. Defense

Reflect
Light Screen
Gyro Ball
Explosion

I seem to be recommending a lot of Bronzongs. Anyways, this will help your team a lot. It resists QuakeSlide, and helps your team by setting up screens. It can help Empoleon set up and nails Blissey with Explosion once Bronzong is no longer needed.

Good Luck, and I hope I helped!

heatran: use choice specs w/ overheat or shuca berry over life orb, with specs you dont have to switch out of metagross since you OHKO through his occa (BEAST) and with shuca you survive most earthquakes

vire certainly needs to be here to cover emp and gyara, so this is one of the few times i say nice choice, dont change him

zapdos is amazing since so many teams are thrown off guard by one, however zapdos can actually be a pretty big nuisance for the user as well haha
it doesnt really go here, you have several checks to lucario and scizor (by the way if zapdos stays use heat wave over toxic) i *do note a blissey weakness here however and i recommend this set (ive used it recently, its so good)
Gengar@Expert Belt
100 Atk/164 SpA/244 Spe-Hasty
Substitute
Hidden Power [Fire]
Shadow Ball
Focus Punch
draws out scizor and kills him, be warned that this is hard pressed to do anything against heatran though, but empoleon and gyarados check that fine

i would make jirachi a scarf revenge killer here:
Jirachi@Choice Scarf
252 Atk/??? (Discussed)
U-turn
Iron Head
Trick
Fire Punch/Thunderpunch/Ice Punch

Fire punch handles steels, thunderpunch is a safety net for gyarados, who can KO zappy if he gets a DD, ice punch is for salamence. with fire punch use 216 with a jolly nature to check lucario, with thunderpunch use 208 with an adamant nature to outrun max jolly gyarados (they do exist) and with ice punch use 252 jolly to have a chance to revenge kill a +1 mence (who by the way is another weakness in your team)

Heatran: See my signature :naughty:. Unless you want to kick Metagross and Jirachi more...

Electivire: Run Expert Belt. There's no use luring electric attacks with Empoleon and Gyarados if you are going to lock yourself into an attack with a speed boost...theres choice scarf for that (but really, don't use it)

Gyarados: Gyara wants the spread 216HP/196Def/96Spe, outruns Infernape after a DD.

Since your team, you say, is based around an Empoleon sweep, the packing steels may not be such a great idea. Empoleon loves to set up on stuff locked into outrage. As such, I would replace your Zapdos and Electivire/Jirachi with Salamence and Latias. They not only cover Empleon's electric, fighting, and ground weaknesses, but they lure the dragon and ice moves (hopefully locked) that Empoleon loves to take and set up on. Latias should be a scarf version with trick, because a well placed trick on someone pursuiting/ice attacking/dragon attack set up empoleon blahblahblah. Salamence should be a bulky mence (on the analysis) since he is replacing Zapdos. Hope I helped?

Problems:

synergy
Stall Team (mild)
NP Infernape

How to fix:

Really great team, I like the whole idea behind it sort of like balanced. As for the synergy, which greatly ties with your problem with Stall Team. Np Infernape can prove to be a large threat because it can set up in front of Heatran or Empoleon fearing the potential Close Combat. Since your having problems with both Infernape, DD's and Stall I might just suggest a Scarf Gengar over Zapdos.

Gengar
@ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature (Spe+ / Atk-)
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Ice
- Trick

Let me explain how this would benefit the team. Firstly, since Stall Teams might be a bit troublesome, Gengar can prove to be a valuable asset when crippling incoming Blissey switch-ins, crippling it with Trick and helping Empoleon sweep. Secondly, Timid + Scarf outpaces any DD Gyarados and DD Salamence as well. Locked in Salamence can meet Hidden Power Ice without having to severely damage Jirachi. Thunderbolt kills Gyarados. Shadow Ball is filler but it will KO all Infernape versions albeit it doesn't predict a Fire Blast (since most attacks it will set up on are Empoleon and Heatran, it will most likely avoid using Fire Blast). It may be a little risky but give this guy a shot. Getting locked in sucks, but Gengar will serve as Pursuit bait meaning it will free up Empoleon's free Substitute or Agility the next switch-in.

As for other options go, try a Medidate Electivire. Why? It dodges Will-O-Wisp from Rotom-H with Sub and proceed to Meditate. overall gl.
