As the title says, I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm pretty new to competitive Pokemon and just went around building a team around my favorite Pokemon. After a few various tweaks I have come to this team (down below) and have gotten to 1600+ on PS with it. Some matches I have been completely murdered the opposition and some matches I've gotten down to one or two Pokemon before beating my opponent.
The Starter
Rotom-Heat @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Trick
- Thunder Wave
My usual starter against mostly Steel/Flying/Water/Grass type teams. Usually I just Volt Switch out into my Skarmory if they can't really deal with its bulk to get a few free spikes off. Otherwise, Overheat 2HKOs bulky steel walls. Trick and Thunder Wave to cripple walls and possible switch ins. Also has just enough Speed to outspeed max-speed Greninja.
The Scout/Anti-Setup/Sub Destroyer
Noivern @ Life Orb
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Taunt
- Draco Meteor
- Boomburst
My second starter in my party. Frisk scouts the enemy's item allowing me to decide whether to attack, Taunt, or U-Turn the hell out of there. Taunt and Boomburst are also useful to deal with setups. Lastly Draco Meteor to dish out some great damage and to possibly kill Charizard X users.
The Steel Wall/Spike Setup
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 248 Atk / 252 SAtk
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
The wall and the entry hazard setup. Pretty self explanatory. Great switch in for anyone who tries to Poison my team allowing me to setup for free. Brave Bird deals with Fighting/Grass types. Whirlwind + Spikes absolutely devastates teams that can't handle Skarmory.
The Physical Sweeper/Dragon Slayer
Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Aqua Jet
- Superpower
- Waterfall
The mighty dragon slayer/wall breaker/Blaziken killing machine. I also use it as a revenge killer as a quick switch in after a death means an Aqua Jet to the face (damn Blaziken).
The Special Attacker/Hole Puncher/Spinner
Blastoise @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Torrent (sadly)
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Water Pulse / Aura Sphere?
- Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam
My primary spinner and anti-Gengar machine. Dark Pulse kills Ghost types with ease in Mega Evolution form. Currently conflicted between Water Pulse and Aura Sphere but I currently am using Water Pulse in case my Azumarill dies. Lastly Ice Beam for extra coverage.
The Physical Sweeper/Mild Tank
Aegislash @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Quiet Nature
- King's Shield
- Shadow Sneak
- Iron Head
- Sacred Sword
My physical sweeper and revenge killer. Iron Head absolutely kills Fairy Types and Sacred Sword covers a wide range of types. Has Weakness Policy just in case my Blastoise dies so that it can tank a Shadow Ball and deliver a Shadow Sneak to Gengar's face.
Obviously, Thunder types are a huge problem to my team as I have a lot of flying and water type Pokemon. Looking for some feedback on how I can improve my team.
