Team Increase your Post Count

Hello everyone, this is my first RMT although I've been around for a couple of years lurking under different names on shoddy. I play hyper/heavy offense but seeing as most of those teams get flamed for having 5 sweepers I decided to post something else. I have no idea what to call this team type (balanced?) but it’s been working out fairly well. So here is my attempt at a non fully offensive team.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Jolly
180 HP/ 252 Atk / 76 Spe
-Stealth Rocks
-Trick
-Iron Head
-Fire Punch

A standard lead Jirachi he carrie sthe ever so important Stealth Rocks and can pass its scarf onto a wall. Iron head give me a 60% chance that Azelf and Aero wont do anything and can flinch anything in general (When you're that cute you can cheat all you want). The last move I always debate about, I love having U-Turn to scout early on in the game but I can see this team has a big problem with Luke (even though he’s never swept me in my life) so Fire Punch serves as a check for him. As far as the ev’s go I just recently found out you only need 76 ev’s to outrun Adamant Luke as opposed to 176 who outruns Jolly as well (but who runs Jolly). I’m willing to change this lead if anyone can think of anything better but seeing as I have no other spot on my team for Stealth Rocks it has to learn that move. Infernape and Machamp are two leads I dont fare well against as I don’t want to take my chances with Iron Head but thats why I have my next member...

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
Nature: Bold
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp.Def
-Calm Mind
-Slack Off
-Surf
-Phsycic/Ice Beam

Does anyone remember the Tobybro set from RBY, he’s back. This thing is awesome and it should really be used more often. Sure Vaporeon can wishpass and Suicune has higher defensive stats (although no instant recovery move) but niether can beat Machamp like this beast does. I also like how it counters physically based Ape w/o Thunder-Punch. The ev’s are standard to take advantage of his physical bulk while Calm Mind raises his Specail stats. As far as the moves go I use Phsycic in the last slot but Ice Beam is worth mentioning with the rise of all the grass types in OU. On to the next member...

Evil_infernape_by_shinyscyther.jpg
Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Nature:Naive
64 Atk / 252 Sp. Atk / 192 Spe
-Flamethrower
-Close Combat (Fun Fact: it’s not a guaranteed OHKO on Blissey w/o rocks wtf...)
-Hidden Power Ice
-Grass Knot

This slot used to be ScarfTran but I didn’t like not being able to switch moves so
So I picked Specially based MixApe to keep the offensive pressure on the Special Side for my opponent. Flamethrower is chosen over Fire Blast because I don’t think Ape can afford to miss, besides I don’t know of any ko’s I miss out on. Close Combat is there is it can hit anything that tries to wall me on the Special side specifically the Pink Whore. I wasn’t sure about running Hidden Power Ice with Salamence being banned and all but it still hits Dragonite (being used more often) fairly well even tho thanks to its bulk it’s not a OHKO. Grass Knot is there because I think the OHKO on Swampert is priceless and it also hits Suicune fairly well. The biggest flaw in him is that he doesn’t like taking hits but most things aimed at him can go to my next member...

Celebi @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Modest
232 HP / 244 Sp.Atk / 32 Spe
-Thunder Wave
-Leaf Storm
-Hidden Power Fire
-Recover

Thunder Wave to slow down my opponents team and if Scizor/Ttar switched in nail the with the right move. Recover is there beacuse even with the investment in Sp.Atk this set can still takes hits fairly so if it comes down to it I can scout for paralysis if I want to heal. This set is amazing but it suffers a bit from four moveslot syndrome, I wish I had the room for Earthpower but I’ve managed so far w/o it. The next guy takes what Celebi and Infernape combined have trouble with...

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
Nature: Careful
248 HP / 252 Sp.Def / 8 Spe
-Heal Bell
-Roost
-Dragon Dance
-Dragon Claw

Dragonite was chosed mostly for his restistances and neurality to flying type moves with the most common being Airslash and Inner Focus protecting him he just fit in. The set was the most difficult part but in the end i went with the Cleric Dancer. Heal Bell not only helps him but most of my team seeing as I have a couple of members that are “Breloom Bait”, Roost just ensures that he can keep on healing himself being Stealth Rock weak. The last two moves make Dragonite a pretty scary sweeper. I used to be a player that hated facing stall but that changed after I used this set. If they have a phazer kill off everything else and send in Dragonite. After 6 Dragon Dances does a huge chunk to Skarmory and since roost has 16 PP vs my Dragon Claw’s 24 PP chances are I win. Wth all the adjustments I’ve made to the team I wonder if I could use a different set (Roost Mixnite?). This is probably the spot I’m most willing to change.

For those of you still reading I know what you’re saying “Chris P. Bacon starmie is going to have a field day with your team”. Frankly with those 5 yes but thats why I have my last guy my first instinct told me to use CBTar because I would just click pursuit and it's a dead Starmie, but if it used Hydro Pump I would be crippled (Don't even mention ScarfTar as it hits like a pussy and you have to predict if it'll stay in or not) worst of all I couldn’t even switch in. Then I started to remember early D/P where anything that could run pursuit would just stick it in a moveslot. Here's where I came around this monster.

Snorlax @ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Thick Fat
4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Sp.Def
-Body Slam/Return
-Pursuit
-Earthquake
-Fire Punch
This thing has taken out every Starmie I’ve come across (seriosuly who’s going to stay in) but I ran some calcs just in case I ever find one that thinks it can take down this fat blob.

Life Orb Timid 252 Sp.Atk Hydro Pump vs Snorlax: 34% - 40.3% (3HKO after Stealth Rocks)

After seeing this calc I didn’t even bother with the other moves (Ice Beam lol)

Choice Band Adamant 252 Atk Pursuit vs Starmie: 55.9% - 66.7% (OHKO if it switches out)

I run Return on my set seeing as it is more powerful and 30% isn’t that great. Pursuit is mainly for starmie but it severly damages anything frail switching out of Snorlax (Scarf Rotom, Gengar, Jolteon). The last two moves are for anything that resists Return. The ev’s are straight forward max Attack since it’s a Choice Bander and max Sp.Def since Snorlax isn’t going to outspeed anything worthwhile. Then 4 HP so it can live a +2 Close Combat from luke and and KO back (I’m kidding).

That pretty much sums up this RMT, and like any team I know this isn’t perfect so that’s why I’m asking for help. Thank your for reading everyone now rate, comment, subscribe (oh wait this isn’t youtube lol).

I would change your slowbron to the standar vaporeon because it can wish and it can counter gyarados effectively. Believe i have tried to use Tobybro and it really isn't that effective. Vaporeon is so much more useful.
