Team <Insert Snappy Title> an OU RMT

So I'm pretty new here in the forums but I've been using the site and playing in the Smogon Server on Shoddy for a few months now. I've also been playing Competitive Pokemon since the first few months of Diamond and Pearl. Even with all that "experience", I use that term lightly, I've never really I had a knack for team building. Hopefully with this RMT you froumites can help me with that. Now on with the team:

Gliscor [Ninpin] (M)
@ Leftovers
Sand Veil
Impish (Def+ / SpA-)
204 HP l 88 Atk l 216 Spe
  • Stealth Rock
  • Taunt
  • Earthquake
  • U-Turn
Ninpin is my (Anti)Lead for the team. He taunts common leads that are slower than him (Metagross, Bronzong, Foretress, etc) and can hopefully set up Stealth Rock while they either Explode or switch out. If they don't explode I can use him later as an Electric immunity Taunter for when things like Blissey come to town. What usually gives me trouble with this guy is the ever popular Lead Swamperts. Most times the Swamperts go straight for the Ice Beam, and that's when I U-Turn the heck out of there. I've used this guy in a few battles to some decent results.

dpmba145.png

Zapdos [Mjolnir] (lol)
@Life Orb
Pressure
Timid (Spd+ /Atk-)
4 Hp | 252 SpA | 252 Spd
  • Thunderbolt
  • Heat Wave
  • HP [Grass]
  • Roost
Swapped out CB Weavile for this little birdy, and I must say I am rather pleased with the results. Zapdos brings a much needed check on my team's glaring weakness to Bulky Waters. Thunderbolt can punch holes into things like Suicune, Empoleon, and Vaporeon assuming they aren't packing boosted Ice Beams. HP [Grass] is for the inevtable switch to Swampert. Keeping HP [Grass] a secret helps in luring them out, expecting to take a mild hit from HP [Ice]. And even without the threat of Bulky Water Pokemon, Zapdos just makes a great asset to the team. It's been doing a lot more than Weavile has done for me.

dpfba380.png

Latias [Bianca] (F)
@Choice Scarf
Levitate
Timid (Spd+ / Atk-)
4 HP | 252 SpA | 252 Spd
  • Draco Meteor
  • Thunderbolt
  • Surf
  • Trick
Bianca is another revenge killer of sorts thanks to Choice Scarf. She's my second line of defense against the ever popular DDMence and other Salamences in general. She can also cause a bit of havok on her own, running around with powerful Draco Meteors and Surfs. Trick is there to screw with the fatties that rely on Leftovers to be a total pain in the ass (I'm looking at you Blissey). Although switching into a Blissey is a bit risky what with the Ice Beams and all, locking her into some dumb move is always helpful. This applies to most support-role pokemon as well. Dragon Pulse hasn't been doing me much to be honest. I'm considering replacing it with Thunderbolt.

dpfba134.png

Vaporeon [Tinsel] (F)
@Leftovers
Water Absorb
Bold (Def+ /Atk-)
188 HP | 252 Def | 68 SpA
  • Wish
  • Protect
  • Surf
  • Yawn | Toxic | HP [Electric]
Tinsel is practically my pride and joy on this team. She can take hits from both spectrums like a champ (granted they're not super Effective) and does a wonder with Wish support. She's also my main check on Bulky Waters and Gyarados (Zapdos now aids in her endeavor). I tend to bring her in on Swamperts and work my way from there. I'd likely wouldn't do much to change her although the final move slot is what's been troubling me. Originally she had Yawn, which really helped me rack up the SR damage as well as the Sandstorm damage that I had on the previous team she was on. But after I moved her here, Yawn, although helpful, wasn't as helpful as Toxic was. And after a few more matches, I noticed a big Gyarados weakness on my team, which is where HP [Electric] came in. Although, after a few more matches, I'm considering having Toxic make a come back. Calm Mind Suicune just shutdown Tinsel without Toxic and Blisseys have proved to be more annoying without my Toxic support as well. Help with my final move would be appreciated.

dpfba212.png

Scizor [Bombshell] (F)
@Choice Band
Techinician
Adamant (Atk+ /SpA-)
248 Hp | 252 Atk | 8 Spe
<30 Spe IV>
  • Bullet Punch
  • U-Turn
  • Super Power
  • Pursuit
Bombshell is your typical CB Scizor that seems to be all the rage these days. To be honest, I've only recently added her to the team and I haven't had much experience using CB Scizor because of that. I added her because I felt my team lacked a heavy hitter in the Physical realm, so CB Scizor seemed to be the obvious choice. Everyone should know how this works by now. Come in on something that it resists or Blissey. Commence destruction phase. I tweaked the Speed IV to 30 just so that in case I run into a similar CB Scizor I can hit it with a Super Power of my own after they use theirs, taking advantage of the Defense drop. As cool as this thing is, any replacement for her would be appreciated.
dpfba485.png

Heatran [Pele] (F)
@Shucca Berry
Flash Fire
Rash (SpA+ /SpD-)
42 Atk | 216 SpA | 252 Spe
<26 Atk IV> <30 SpA IV>
  • Fire Blast
  • Earth Power
  • HP [Grass]
  • Explosion
Pele was named after the Ancient Hawaiian goddess of Volcanoes with the same name. I actually met a few locals from Hawaii on Shoddy because of her name lol. Before, like practically everyone else, I scarfed her. However, I felt that Scarf Heatran was far to predictable, dangerous as it may be. So I opted for a sort of Life Orb set, minus the Life Orb. By giving her Shucca Berry I have lived to die another day. I've caught a Celebis and ScarfTrans off guard with that little berry, while I take them out with a powerful Fire Blast or Earth Power. Explosion is there as the last resort tactic. HP [Grass] is there for Swamperts. In retrospect having my only Swampert "counter" as a Pokemon with a 4x weakness to it's STAB Earthquakes was a bad call, but hopefully the Shucca Berry allows me to survive an EQ from the big mudkip wannabe. I say hopefully becuse I haven't actually had the chance to use HP [Grass] on Swampert, or anyone for that matter. Tweaks or even a replacement if neccessary for Pele would be appreciated.
__________________________________________________________________

And that's the team. Comments, critique, "lolusucknub"s are welcome. I feel that I am Starmie weak, though I've never actually faced one with this team, and the aforementioned weakness to CM Suicune. If there are any other glaring weaknesses to this team, please feel free to point them out and try to offer a fix to those glaring weaknesses. And if I've broken any of the rules for posting a thread, my bad ^^;

I'd like to add this here warstory to the RMT. Just showing off the potential of Ninpin here. Brelooms have always been tricky business for me but I ended up dominating this match. Much props to Renegade though :)

Weavile [Zetsubo] (F)
@ Choice Band
Pressure
Jolly (Spd+ / SpA-)
40 HP l 252 Atk l 216 Spe
  • Pursuit
  • Brick Break
  • Ice Shard
  • Ice Punch
Zetsubo works as my revenge killer. I've had this set back from when Garchomp was all the rage, burninating the country side and all that jazz. Then, I used her to revenge kill with a CB STAB Ice Shard. Now, I haven't seen too many of these things around, so I felt I should bring her back. She still performs the same, revenge killing with powerful stab moves, and slapping frailer things in the face. I wasn't really sure on what to put for the final slot so I threw in Ice Punch for a solid stab move with decent base power.

Hey Sabafish, as you already know, your team is a little weak against bulk Water-type Pokemon. A speedy Empoleon or a Suicune can absolutely ruin your team. I would sacrefice either your Scizor or your Weavile for this Zapdos.

Zapdos
@ Life Orb
Pressure
Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
  • Thunderbolt
  • Heat Wave
  • Hidden Power Grass
  • Roost
This Zapdos forces those bulky Water-types into a switch. If they stay in, then I expect a dead Water Pokemon. If your opponent thinks he is smarter and to stay in with a Swampert or something like that, then you can use Hidden Power Grass. Heat Wave is for the annoying Scizors and other Steel-types.

I would replace this Zapdos for your Weavile, because you already have a banded Physical Attacker(Scizor)

Thanks for the suggestion. I've actually been wanting to try out a Zapdos ever since he gained Heat Wave during Platinum. I don't think I've ever used one before, not even in game, so this'll be a new experiece for me.

Well this is your chance, so take it with both hands. It will be a perfect addition to your team AND the sollution to your problems

So after a bit of testing, I've noticed two things:
1) Now that I've added him I haven't faced any bulky waters lol
2) He's just been generally a good addition to the team.

Much thanks for the Zapdos, Yehom.

So far some other problems I seem to have encountered are Substituters and Lead Infernape sets. Infernape just stops my early game set up, more often than not, almost completely shutting down my Gliscor. Not sure if there's away around this other than changing my lead accordingly, but I'll just man up and stick with Gliscor for a bit more.

As for the Substitute teams, I'm sure with a bit more experience on how to handle them and I'll be good. Usually Latias helps with Trick. Sub Encore Alakazam gave me quite a scare earlier. I haven't seem him in a long time, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I ended up losing to a few more Substituters,some flinch hax, and SR damage from his LeadNape.

I'll edit Zapdos into the RMT later, as today was my final day of summer vacation and I've gotta wake up earlier than 10 am =__=

Starmie does run rampid against your team, but you have Latias to protect you. Trust me, Starmie's Ice Beam won't do anything to Latias.

Solid team by the way, I'd rate it 8/10.

EDIT: Threw Zapdos into the RMT for great justice.

Thanks, Lord Liam. I've still yet to see how this team would fare up against a Starmie. Kind of weird how've fought just about every other OU Pokemon except for Starmie lol
