Team Iron Chains [RMT]

Team Iron Chains

--------------------------
Introduction
--------------------------

This team has done well for me, I obviously know it can be better though. I don't ladder much, but I am sure it would do ok on the ladder also. This teams sweeper idea came from Philip's Torment Tran, I obviously didn't want to copy, so I made this team, after testing for about a week I got this final result. I went to ladder with it, but got bored quickly, so I plan on making a new team. Without further ado, here is the team!

Azelf @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
---

-------------------
Description
-------------------
By far, one of the best leads, I have ever used. Kills most other leads, and if it doesn't kill, does a lot of damage. HP Fighting kills T-tar leads that have been getting more common lately, the lead this lead has the most trouble with is Swampert, and he is a pain in the neck to defeat sometimes, it all depends on if he goes for the Surf or Stealth Rock first turn, although, they usually go for the Stealth Rock. Shadow Ball is for other Azelf leads, as it is the most common lead, and for the people who think I will Exploade at low health, I hit them with a Spec Shadow Ball, and they get mad. Flamethrower comes in handy against leads like Abomasnow and Metagross, who are also, pretty common. Aerodactyl leads are a simple game, they either go for the 2HKO wich I have had a couple of times, and they don't get Stealth Rock, or they go for the Tuant/Stealth Rock, and get 2HKO'd by Thunderbolt. Overall, this lead is designed to severely damage the other lead so I can Revenge kill, or Kill the other lead, and hope I can kill that thing too. It was a tough decision deciding whether it should have Choice Scarf or Choice Specs, in the end I went with the Specs, because I like the extra power, and I don't usually keep him late game. The EV's are pretty Standard.

Latias (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 32 Spd/252 SAtk/224 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
- Ice Beam
---

-----------------
Description
-----------------
Latias, the all important Revenge Killer. Probably one of the best Revenge Killers, I have ever used, besides the fact it is Pursuit weak, but hopefully, anything that had Pursuit was taken out by my Lead or my other Pokemon. Seeing as Kingdra, my final sweeper, is only weak to Dragon, it was important I could Revenge Kill these Dragons if need be. Ice Beam for the likes of Flygon, Salamence, and Dragonite, Draco Meteor for an awesome move than pretty much guarantee's a KO on anything that isn't a Steel Type. Thunderbolt and Surf for extra coverage. It's speed EV's allow for the all important 396 Speed, out speeding all base 130's, of course, and being the fastest of the OU Dragons, pretty much allows me to Revenge Kill all of them. Isn't it great? SAtk and SDef for extra bulk and power, this thing has really, never let me down and has often time opened the gate for my Kingdra to sweep.

Metagross @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/240 Def/16 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Stealth Rock
---

-----------------
Description
-----------------
Metagross, the bulk, if I ever need to give Sleep to a Pokemon, this is usually the one, and if I ever need Stealth Rock, for the likes of Salamence and Gyarados, this guys is also the one to come to. Meteor Mash and Earthquake don't get used much, Stealth Rock obviously gets used the most, but Explosion is used a fair amount to, seeing as he really has no roll to this team, beside taking Dragon Attacks for Latias or Kingdra, but it's usually Latias, as Kingdra doesn't usually come out until almost end game. I sometimes win before he even comes out, ahh good times. The EV's are straight from the Smogon Strategy Dex, and they seem to work great.

212.png

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit
---

------------------
Description
------------------
Ahh, the Choice Band Bug (CBB,) he makes it onto every team doesn't he? No? Well, he makes it onto a lot of teams, he is just to good of a Revenge Killer to pass up, and another Steel to take those Dragon Attack. He also makes up for the fact that I have no Phazer, just two Revenge Killers. This guys has been so useful, taking down Dragons like Salamence, and also my only good Physical attack besides Kingdra, wich I don't like to reveal until late game, as I have said before. Other than that, there isn't much to say about this Bug, he is just used so much that if you don't know what his role is, you need to go into the tutoring program and get tutored. I have the EV's at what they are so if it's a Scizor vs. Scizor match-up I U-turn last, this gives me the upper hand.

Heatran (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 40 HP/216 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Overheat
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Dragon Pulse
---

----------------
Description
----------------
The Power of Choice Specs Heatran is amazing, especially with Overheat, if you don't have a Blissey or a Water Type to take the Overheat, you'll soon probably have a OHKO'd Pokemon, even to the likes of Blissey and common Water Types, it does 50% damage. This is my only switch in to Swamper though, probably the one thing that annoys my team most besides Vaporeon. Useful for, err... Revenge Killing, I think I have enough of those now. The Moveset is pretty Standard, besides Overheat over Fire Blast, but I like the one time Power Overheat provides. The EV's yet again are pretty Standard.

Kingdra (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 24 HP/252 Atk/232 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Disable
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
---

-------------------
Description
-------------------
I. Love. This. Thing. It's an amazing sweeper after Steels and Dragon have been removed (And Vaporeon.) It was inspired by Philip's Torment Tran, and it is amazing. When I first made the set, I didn't realize the Shaky Accuracy of Disable, but it has only missed 3 times for me, and all three times I still won. This thing is just crazy, it usually gets 2-3 Dragon Dances, and then Sweeps, it usually goes something like this, I sub on the switch, I Dragon Dance, you use a move to break my sub, I disable the move next turn, you will do one of two things, switch or use a less powerful move, either way I can get another Dragon Dance, so thats what I do. I now have 2 DD's and probably get another, but I will usually just sweep the team right there. I love this thing, but the strategy got boring pretty quickly imo, so I think I will retire it soon. Anyway, please Rate.

This team looks very solid. I think CB Tar can be very troublesome to this team however. I think we can fix this easily. Although it's not as quick as some members of your team, I think Hitmontop can be a fabulous addition to your team.

Hitmontop@ Leftovers
Intimidate
Adamant
252 HP/252 Attack/4 HP

Close Combat
Rapid Spin
Foresight
Sucker Punch

With Foresight up, it can hit Ghosts with a Close combat. Overall, this set counters Tyranitar very well, you can safely switch into one of Ttar's STAB moves and hit hard with STAB Close Combat. Rapid Spin is for utility, and can help you because you have four choice users, who require a lot of switching.

Hope I helped, and Good Luck!

Uhh, HP Fighting should kill all T-tar leads and not leads if they haven't invested many EV's into HP and SDef, replacing Scizor for Hitmontop wouldn't be to good either actually, as thats getting rid of a T-tar counter...for a T-tar counter.

But adding Hitmontop is a lot more beneficial for your team, as it adds a decent mix of bulkiness, attacking power, and support ability to your team. Because you have FOUR choice users, you are going to be switching a lot, and Stealth Rock and Spikes WILL take their toll. Addign a Rapid Spinner lets you clear the entry hazards while being a good Tyranitar counter.

My tip for your Latias is to drop Ice Beam, as integral said, becuase you already OHKO the ice weak pokemon you mentioned, and being locked into an unstabed ice beam means luke can easily sweep your team, I support the idea of removing scizor for a luke check/counter, you may try specs luke to have a great check vs sd luke and dd tyranitar with vacuum wave, I hope I helped and good luck!

*edit* Latias hits 396 speed with that spread and item, while mence hits 448 ( with adamant after a dd), at least give him enough to outspeed jolt, but I recomend just using the standard spread.

I still don't quite understand the idea of drooping a Tyranitar counter, just for another Tyranitar counter, my Azelf pretty much OHKO's all Tyranitars out there already with Specs HP Figthing, and the fact that dropping Scizor would be bad, as it has three needed roles for this team.

1) Revenge Killer, with no Phazer, this is absolutely vital
2) Dragon Attack Spong, Self Explanatory really
3) Tyranitart Counter? Lol

Well, Scizor switching into a CB Stone Edge takes a shitload of damage.

604 Atk vs 236 Def & 343 HP (100 Base Power): 274 - 324 (79.88% - 94.46%)

Whereas Hitmontop, taking in Intimidate:

402 Atk vs 226 Def & 304 HP (100 Base Power): 96 - 113 (31.58% - 37.17%)

Pretty big difference if you ask me.

Latias needs a Timid nature to outspeed +Speed Salamence after the DD. Also lose Ice Beam on Latias for either Trick or Dragon Pulse. Late game, scarfed Latias can sometimes sweep with her insane speed and Dragon Pulse, whereas sweeping with Draco can be difficult do to the SpAtk drops. Trick is useful for crippling walls and annoying shit like CM Rachi, Suicune, etc.

IMO Machamp would be better than Hitmontop if you're looking for a TTar counter. Even after a DD, TTar can only scratch Machamp, while Machamp smacks him around with the Fighting move of choice. Machamp can also lure out the opponents Ghost and hit it with a very powerful Payback. This is good news for your team because Rotom-A walls at least two of your current pokes.
