Team Irrelevance

This is my second RMT, so I have a much better understanding of what to do in for RMT's. That being said, the team-building process revolved around Starmie and Gengar, but neither one is really the star of the team.

Metagross @ Lum Berry
Adamant, Clear Body
248 HP/228 Atk/34 SpD
-Stealth Rock
-Meteor Mash
-Bullet Punch
-Explosion

Standard Leadgross. His job is primarily to get up Stealth Rock and do as much damage as possible to opposing leads. If a lead comes up that he can't take on, I switch to Starmie to kill it and bring Metagross back into the match later to set up SR. He can also be a revenge killer in a pinch.

How I deal with common leads:
Azelf-- Meteor Mash, then Bullet Punch. They can either get rocks up or taunt me.
Swampert-- Rocks, then switch to Starmie or something.
Heatran-- Rocks and Starmie.
Metagross-- See Heatran.
Infernape-- Depends how I'm feeling. If I'm feeling lucky, I SR before going to Starmie. If not, I just go straight to Starmie.
Aerodactyl-- Meteor Mash and Bullet Punch, or maybe just two Bullet Punches. Either way, I win.
Roserade-- Meteor Mash while I take the Sleep Powder, then Bullet Punch.
Smeargle-- uh... SR then my choice of attack.
Jirachi-- SR to see what it does, then react accordingly.
Machamp-- Meteor Mash then Bullet Punch.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Timid, Natural Cure
4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
-Hydro Pump
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Recover
Starmie forms the other half of my anti-lead combo, and makes a good mid-to-late-game sweeper and status absorber as well. Hydro Pump nets some important 2HKOs, and BoltBeam provides amazing coverage. Recover increases the set's longevity and lets me attempt to stall out weak or resisted attacks. Starmie and Gengar share a lot of the same counters, so if one can weaken them, it opens up the possibility of a sweep with the other.

Gengar @ Life Orb
Timid, Levitate
252 Spe/252 SpA/4 HP
-Substitute
-Pain Split
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast
Sub/Pain Split Gengar can rip huge holes in opposing teams if given an opportunity. Ghost/Fighting provides perfect coverage, and Substitute allows Gengar to block status and protect itself from Pursuit, both of which ordinarily cripple it. The ability to kill Blissey with a bit of luck is also very helpful :D

gyarados.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Adamant, Intimidate
156 HP/68 Atk/96 Def/188 Spe
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Bounce
-Taunt
Bulky DD Gyara is capable of putting a severe dent in the opposing team. The EVs are from the Smogon analysis, but with 4 extra Speed to outrun other Gyarados using this set. Taunt allows him to set up on lots of walls and sweep. Waterfall gives Gyara a solid STAB to use with DD, and Bounce hits a lot resistant to Waterfall very hard. However, I don't like how it takes two turns to attack and leaves the opponent open to setting up or switching, although the paralysis rate is very helpful. I also run 4 more speed than the Smogon recommended set to outspeed other Gyarados running the same set.

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Adamant, Levitate
252 Atk/252 Spe/4 HP
-Earthquake
-Outrage
-Stone Edge
-U-Turn

Flygon, in addition to being a good revenge killer, also gives me a counter to Jolteon as long as he doesn't come in on HP Ice. He outspeeds +1 Gyarados and threatens them with Stone Edge. STAB EQ is always powerful, as is STAB Outrage. U-Turn lets me scout and hopefully get a good matchup with a double switch.
gliscor.png

Gliscor @ Life Orb
Adamant, Hyper Cutter
252 Atk/252 HP/4 Spe
-Agility
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Ice Fang
Agility Gliscor, while a bit gimmicky and lacking in power, makes a good late-game sweeper and can take a lot of physical punishment as well. Earthquake is obligatory STAB, while Stone Edge and Ice Fang provide good coverage when combined with EQ. However, where this set really shines is shock value. Most people expect Gliscor to be a physical wall or Toxic/Roost staller, and bring out a status absorber or special attacker as I Agility. If this is late game, then the counter has already been weakened and I can OHKO and hopefully sweep.
Currently testing a stallbreaker Gliscor in place of this set.

Threat List (this list is incomplete and will be added to once I have used the team more.)
Defensive Threats:
Blissey-- Can wall Starmie and paralyze Gengar/Gyarados or Toxic Gyarados/Flygon/Gliscor. It dies to physical attacks, but Gengar can kill it with a bit of twave (if it has it) prediction.
Skarmory-- Walls Flygon and Gliscor. Gyarados can keep it from setting up entry hazards, and Starmie can kill it with Thunderbolt. Gengar also does good damage with Focus Blast, but I would prefer to use Starmie because of Bocus Blast's accuracy.
Celebi-- My team doesn't like paralysis much, and those who don't are hit pretty hard by Celebi's attacks. If Gengar can get in without getting paralyzed, it can immediately threaten with Shadow Ball. Flygon's U-Turn also does a ton of damage, so it can kill a weakened Celebi if needed. Gyarados can also Bounce, but Celebi will often switch out or paralyze Gyarados.
Suicune-- My team does not like Suicune one bit. CroCune in particular can kill pretty much everything if Gyarados is dead. Suicune packing HP Electric are also annoying, but can be hit hard by Earthquake or Outrage from Flygon, as long as Suicune doesn't have Ice Beam. Suicune without Calm Mind are much easier to deal with, as Starmie doesn't have to rely on crithax to kill them.
Forretress-- Not having a fire move is quite annoying for dealing with Forry. Gyarados can Taunt it and set up and only fears Explosion. Starmie also does quite a lot of damage with Hydro Pump, and Gengar can hit it with a Focus Blast in a pinch.
Vaporeon-- Starmie is the only team member who can hit it with SE damage, so it can stall out a good portion of my team with Wish and Protect.

Offensive Threats:
Jolteon-- Flygon kills/revenges, but there's a problem if it's running HP Ice and I have to switch out. I may have to sac someone to kill it.
Gengar-- Gengar is annoying. Usually, Flygon Outrages and kills it, but Starmie's Hydro Pump could catch it on a switch and I can pray for a speed tie with my own Gengar.
Heatran-- It can be a problem if it gets a sub up. Otherwise, Starmie and Flygon can kill it easily.
Starmie-- Flygon's U-turn and my own Starmie's Thunderbolt can hit it hard, but a LO Starmie can OHKO or 2HKO my entire team with good prediction.
Gyarados-- When is it not a threat? Flygon can kill ones with +1 or +2 Speed, and Starmie/Gliscor can occasionally hit them on the switch.

i just have one little suggestion to make put a Scar to starmie its better really
you can outspeed plus 2 dragon dance gyarados and outspeed annoying scarfed Flygons and with Trick you can Wall Blisseys and Snorlax...same Evs but with Scarf and Trick over Recover thats all =D anyway great Teams hope this help you cause this Starmie make me win almost 50% of my battles cause no one see a scarf starmie coming and its a Perfect Late Game Revenge Killer

Hey,Solid Team And Well Not That Too Solid..Some Changes Would Be Great! You Do Have A Electric Resist Which Is Good.Well,You Have No Spin Blocker..I Will Recommend You To Replace Gengar :s With Rotom-H Or Maybe You Can Run A CS Rotom TO Counter Blisseys.

499.png

Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature
Ev's:252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Moveset:
~ Thunderbolt
~ Overheat
~ Hidden Power Ground / Shadow Ball
~ Trick

Hope I Helped..

Good Luck!

At a glance, Jolteon with HP Ice completely rampages this team, and OHKO's every single member but scizor and metagross, who are both promptly 2hko'd. As such, I reccomend you add a Choice Scarf Flygon over Scizor in order to remedy this.

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Jolly ; 4 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~ Outrage
~ U-Turn
~ Earthquake
~ Stone Edge

This Flygon gives you a check to +1 Gyara, +1 Dragonite, Jolteon, and other base 115's thtaat you don't want to risk a speed tie with. The electric immunity means that if you can get Flygon in on a thunderbolt, you can procede to either Earthquake or U-turn to scare off the Jolteon or scout. I know I said that you had a weakness to HP Ice jolteon, but the difference between Flygon and Gliscor is that Flygon can outspeed and ohko with Earthquake, so it can actually do something back to Jolteon.

On Starmie I would swap Ice Beam for Rapid Spin because honestly, T-bolt 2hko's dragonite with ease, and Hydro pump does a huge amount to Flygon, but Rapid spin means that starmie is now a team player and helps Gyarados a huge amount because it can switch in freely to intimidate the opposition or force Heatrans and shit out.

On Gliscor, I would change it to the standard stall breaker set so you have another weapon against stall besides Gyara.

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Jolly ; 252 Hp / 4 Def / 252 Spe
~ Taunt
~ Roost
~ Earthquake
~ Toxic

This acts as another lucario check and is a great weapon against stall while your set really doesn't accomplish anything due to gliscors lack luster attack stat and move coverage.

When looking over this team, I see the lack of any choice scarfers, or any revenge killers, except for Scizor. This means that you are EXTREMELY likely to be swept by anything that has set up. The biggest example of this is dragon dance Gyarados. To remedy this problem, I would suggest a Choice Scarf Flygon over gliscor. I would suggest this set:

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
48 Hp / 252 Atk / 208 Spe

This helps with your weakness to Jolteon, MysticGar, and set up sweepers.

Nice team, I really didn't see many issues. Good luck!

I would love to use Rapid Spin on Starmie, but it replaces Ice Beam. I don't have anything else that can really hit a grass-type other than U-Turn and Bounce. I hate Bounce and would love to replace it, but I hate Stone Edge even more. U-Turn doesn't really cut it as an attack solely to do damage, but I guess it might work. I'm considering it though.
