Team Meh (5th Gen OU)

Introduction

Welcome to Team Meh. It's called Team Meh because thats how it all came together really, just me throwing random pokes around and it ended up as a decent team, just a few adjustments here and there. I wasn't sure on what kind of team I wanted so I just started of with the Grass/Fire/Water combo. Honestly, I think I could get pretty high in the rankings if I play properly but I'm more of the messing about guy so meh. The team has pretty good coverage but I'm sure it can be improved

Heatran (M) @ Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Dragon Pulse

First up is Heatran. I wanted a Fire type but most of them were kinda fragile and didn't fit in with my team and I used Heatran a lot last Gen so I wanted a change. I then needed a lead and thought about LeadTran. It's turned out to be better than I thought, with it's natural bulk and awesome Special Attack it can take hits and sometimes stay for mid-game and deal out great damage with Fire Blast. EV's and moves are kinda basic except for Dragon Pulse which is kind of a filler. The item, Balloon, is pretty good except that it doesnt really come in handy that much I mean with 3 Ground immunities should I replace it with Lefties or something?

Rotom-W.png

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Trick
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Rotom-W is my revenge killer and stall killer, with a Timid Nature it reaches around 450 Speed which is enough to outspeed the things that I need to. The moves are quite basic, Thunderbolt/Hyrdo Pump for powerful dual STAB, HP Fire mainly for Ferrothorn but can work on Forry and others and Trick is for crippling foes - mostly walls. Pretty simple poke and set, it creates great synery with the rest of my team and counters important threats.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Recover
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Yes, Celebi is still alive from Gen 4 and it's not just living it's owning. It's such a great pokemon but it seems sooo underused. It has great stats and a great movepool but I went for the bulky set, it supports my team pretty well and creates good synergy with its dual type. The moves are to maximize my stalling capabilities and HP Fire is there to deal with Ferrothorn, Forry and my main counter Scizor were HP Fire does around 80%

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Protect
- Facade
- Swords Dance

One of my favourite Gliscor sets. It's kind of a bulky offense set. The EV's allow me to outspeed base 95's and have maximum bulk, the rest are dumped into Attack. Moves are sort of original, they allow me to counter SS teams completely. Protect is there to scout and recover health from Poison Heal, Swords Dance lets my set up and hopefully sweep the oppnents team, Earthquake is a good all round move and powerful STAB, Facade is probably the crux of the set it's a good move with poison activated but it also allows me to take out Balloon Excadrill which is such a threat to every team. Overall, Gliscor is quite an important member to the team and he provides good synergy

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Waterfall
- Dragon Tail

I've seen this set a lot lately and I've been meaning to try it out... I just wish I had used it earlier I mean seriously this Gyarados set is sooo awesome, it counters sooo many things it's not funny. With the right coverage, which my team provides, this guy is such a pain in the ass for my oppnent and almost never dies without giving a good fight. Can't really say much about the EV's and moves except that I have Dragon Tail over Roar because it does damage and it's typing. It can get a few nifty K.O's on Haxorus' and others.

Breloom (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Def / 20 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Spore

Last up is Breloom, not the typical SporePuncher or TechniLoom but a SubSeeder. Honestly, this guy was a filler, at first it was TechniLoom but it kept going down too easily with LO recoil, normally SS and almost every team has priority. SporePuncher gets counter too easily but I did want Breloom and this set had been used against me and if I didn't have Celebi I probably would of lost. EV's create maximum physical bulk whilst outspeeding a few threats. The best thing about this set is that Poison Heal and Leech Seed recovery together normally heal enough to create another Sub plus Focus Punch without a Attack EV's or a positive nature still does a ton of damage.
