Before I post this, please be aware that I don't have an extensive knowledge of the metagame, just a general knowledge. For instance, I don't know what any popular sets are and usually when I play on Shoddy all my moves are based on the other pokemon's weaknesses (which I look up) and what moves/pokemon I have available. So, forgive me if this team has a lot of flaws, I'm just looking to see how it stands. I've played four games with it so far and I'm 2-2. One of those losses I should've won if not for a misclick and a game-changing freeze hax. This is also my first RMT so if I missed something I'll gladly edit the post.
Jolteon@Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spe/252 SpA
Nature: Timid
Thunderbolt
Agility
Baton Pass
Yawn
Jolteon has always been one of my favorite pokemon. I chose Leftovers simply because I need him to live in order to Yawn and BP to the next pokemon I shall share with you. STAB T-Bolt with max SpA, as everybody knows, is simply devestating on a Jolteon. In every game I've played with this new team Jolteon has either been the MVP or been a contender for MVP. He's also the only Poke I have with a sleep-inducing move. In today's metagame it's risky to not lead with Rocks or something along those lines, but this kind of lead is kind of rare nowadays, from what I've seen lately. From my experience Jolteon has been pivotal to my opening moves and cleaning up late-game.
Pinsir@Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 6 HP/252 Att/252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
X-Scissor
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Swords Dance
This is why Jolteon is needed for BPing. My initial plan is usually to get an Agility off and then BP to Pinsir for the sweep. Getting an Agility off usually is pretty simple since the majority of the opponent's leads usually either are afraid of/can't 1HKO Jolteon or are too focused on getting Rocks up to stop the BP from happening. Due to the fact that half of the leads I face either switch out or use Rocks I can sometimes manage to get a Yawn off, which is usually great setup for a sweep. One Agility+SD on Pinsir means he's nearly unstoppable considering he has Mold Breaker. The main problem here is that Pinsir usually can only get one to three kills before he runs out of HP. I use Pinsir over Heracross/Lucario because Pinsir is one of my favorites and because of Mold Breaker.
Dusknoir@Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SpD
Nature: Impish
Will-O-Wisp
Pain Split
Ice Punch
Fire Punch
As a person who has suffered extreme frustration at the hands of Dusknoir, I finally decided to give him a try. Mainly there to wall the likes of Lucario and Porygon-Z. Pain Split combined with Leftovers can keep him alive for a very long time. Will-O-Wisp is one of my three status moves on this team (T-Wave, Will-O-Wisp, and Yawn). I haven't tried this before, but I suppose BP'ing an Agility to Dusknoir could work pretty well if Pinsir isn't viable. A +2 speed Dusknoir makes Pain Split all the more troublesome.
Vaporeon@Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 Spe
Nature: Bold
Surf
Ice Beam
Protect
Wish
This spot used to be where my Suicine was up until I found out he was practically useless the way I was using him. Vaporeon fits in much better. Without Vaporeon some of my pokemon such as Salamence and Pinsir don't survive for long. Great for stalling too. Aside from Wish support and stalling, Vaporeon is my only Surf/Ice Beam user.
Salamence@Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 Att/252 Spe/8 SpA
Nature: Naughty
Dragon Claw
Fire Blast
Outrage
Aqua Tail
My heavy-hitting dragon. I used to have Dragonite in this spot, but then I got over my love with Dragonite and went with Salamence due to how much more effective it is. It's my only Choice user on my team and provides a nice alternative to Pinsir for Jolteon BPs. An Agility combined with Choice Band combined with STAB Dragon Claw from a Salamence can mean death or at least severe damage for a lot of pokemon. Other then that, Salamence is really just there so I have a Dragon and to finish late-game.
Blissey@Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def/40 SpA/216 SpD
Nature: Calm
Flamethrower
Thunder-Wave
Softboiled
Aromatherapy
Cleric/Special Wall. The fat blob is my answer to the likes of Uxie/Azelf/Mesprit/Starmie. Without him my team's kind of weak to fast special sweepers. Jolteon helps against T-Bolt users.
So, what do ya think? Ain't it something to see a team without SR or Rapid Spin?
