Team Numero Uno!

Please don't lock this thread for lack of pictures. I do not know how to do those yet. I shall search for them tomoro as tonight is getting late. Alright so this is my first team I've decided to put up in the RMT secton. I've been reading rmt's for quite some time now. I finally just decided to put up this team to see what I might change to improve my team, and my overall number of wins I can get. I usually play on PO. I win about 50 % - 60% of my matches. It isn't bad, but I certainly could do better. I've had better, more successful teams but I changed them around and got failures. I used to run Sandstorm teams but I got bored of the usual ttar, excadrill, with some filler pokemon. I was using an interesting Alakazam which I will include after this RMT. So onto Team Numero Uno! even though it certainly is not that, nor anywhere near it!

EDIT: Switched the Lucario to a Victini. Still isn't doing it. Here's the set.

Lucario (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- ThunderPunch
- Drain Punch
- Bullet Punch
- Ice Punch

*SWITCHED FOR*

Victini @ Choice Band
Trait: Victory Star
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def) *changed to Jolly (+Speed, -SpAtk)*

- U-turn
- V-create
- Wild Charge
- Zen Headbutt

I still find that even Victini isn't as useful as I thought it would be. It is better than Lucario, but it's still not great. I usually just V-Create something that doesn't resist it. But I have a hard time bringing it in. Just realized the nature is stupidly wrong. I meant to have Jolly (+Speed, -SpAtk). He is just not bulky enough to have any staying power.

Latios (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock

Latios tends to be my lead about 90% of the time and it usually nets a ko right off the bat. I am looking at changing out Psyshock because I don't seem to be using it that often. I'm sure there are better options. Pretty standard Ev's along with ChoiceSpecs for maximum damage output to put something to it's death as quickly as possible. Levitate is incredibly useful with Lucario being incredibly fragile towards any ground moves (ie. EQ) so if I predict an EQ coming to hit Lucario I will usually switch to this and heavily damage something. I've been noticing Ice type pokmon, and Water types also cause my Latios lots of problems. Help me fix this somehow PLEASE! Ice Beam seems to be the most used so I'd like to keep it, but if I'm given an interesting reccomendation I shall try it out, and test that set vs. the current one.

Garchomp (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Swords Dance
- Fire Fang

Oh Garchomp. You monster. I usually come in on something it resists. Elemental Attacks tend to be it most of the time. Set up a SD. Then prepare to dominate anything that trys to stop me. A +2 Chomp is a monster. I try not to lock myself into Outrage unless I know I have removed any steel/rock types which I don't like to let them set up, or hack away at my precious dragon. He tends to be a more late game sweeper, but if I think I can pull a 6-0 with him he will be used as a lead by setting up 1 or 2 SD's and then rampaging over the team. Ev's are once again, the usual used to outspeed as much as possible since this thing will usually SD meaning it does not need to be adament. I like jolly, as it allows me to outspeed a bunch of stuff .. which I cannot think of currently (help with a list? thanks) Leftovers are for recovering any entry hazard damage I take, and if i get into a "stall" war I still have a means of recover. It also helps if he is my lead, gets hurt, sweeps a little and regains health, then switches back out to come back later in the game for his second sweep of the match. He usually gets 2 ko's. Almost always gets 1. Very rarely does he not obtain a single ko in a match, even if i get swept.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Heal Bell
- Wish
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss

Hey there Special Wall of the century. This is the cleric / wish passer of the team. I use her to heal any status' Burns from chomp, and Lucario, Paralysis from Ferro. Gengar doesn't really get statuse'd. Just dies a lot. Latios hates paralysis so I knew I needed a cleric, and a special wall. DING DONG! Blissey is here! Heall Bell for Cleric. Wish for Wish-Passing. Toxic to stall out opponents and put them on a timer to death. Seismic Toss to deal 100 damage every time, no matter how much they've buffer their stats. The only problem with this set is Gengar walls it fully. Can't poison it, nor can I S-Toss it. Ev's for maximum Wall-ability? (new word? I think so). Leftovers to heal health every turn. Blissey does a great job walling special pokemon, and I don't see myself swapping her, but I will try different pokemon for testing purposes, possibly adding them onto my team if I like them enough.

Gengar (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Disable
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

I find this Gengar to be better, but still isn't as effective as I thought it could be. I come in on an obvious fighting attack aimed at blissey, or ferro and sub as the opponent switches. Then attack with either SB, or FB. Occasionally disable their attack that will hurt me, but I find myself not doing that to much. Not to sure why. Focus Sash to ensure a safe switch-in if I mis-predict which is known to happen somewhat often. Blaah. Ev's for outspeeding as much as I can, along with hitting them hard.

Nattorei (Ferrothorn) (F) @ Rocky Helmet
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Toxic
- Protect
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed

Here is my Brick Wall. Physical Wall. It will stop almost all physical attackers dead in their tracks. I find Garchomp to be a problem since I think he has Fire Fang, then he Fire Blasts me, and it is ohko'd as he laughs at me, and continues to rape me from behind. SE Close Combat from Lucario doesn't OHKO. And i usually wish pass to Ferro when I see a Lucario, Heracross, or Conkeldurr. Then Iron Barbs + Rocky Helmet they lost about 25% of their health when they do physical contact so I try to switch in on obvious ones such as lucario, heracross, tyranitar, garchomp (not so common anymore) and anything else I think is physical. I'm often fooled into thinking that since my Lucario is physical all others will be physical until comes out and does a nice big AURA SPHERE to my face, and decimates my Ferrothorn. Overall he is very good. I don't see myself changing him but it is always a possibility.

Overall this team does well when I predict well. If I predict wrong, or the opponent uses a more gimmicky set that I don't expect it throws me off, and my team usually loses a key member (Latios/Chomp) I also need help with removing weaknesses. I know Blissey+Ferro are fighting weak. Lucario+Ferro are fire weak. Latios+Garchomp are ice weak. Gengar+Latios are Dark/Ghost weak. Need help with all of these. They tend to be why I lose.

For the Gengar I think you would do better with a SubDisable Set or SubSplit Set

SubDisable
name: Substitute + Disable
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Disable
move 3: Shadow Ball
move 4: Focus Blast
item: Leftovers
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Just switch into something you're immune to, set up the sub then disable and set up a sub again and start picking off your opponents pokemons is one method of playing the set.The set can check Choiced pokemon at times which can be vital.

SubSplit
name: Substitute + Pain Split
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Pain Split
item: Life Orb
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Personally i prefer this set more than the other just for the ability to break down some walls with Pain Split and hit em hard with either Shadow Ball or Focus Blast

As for Lucario, maybe Scizor or Heatran would be a good replacement, it kinds patches up some of your Ice, Dark, and Ghost (and fire if you decide to use Heatran) weaknesses too

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'm going to try out the sub pain-split but use leftovers on it. As for the Scizor/Heatran recommendation I'm looking for a Physical Attacker as I'm trying to run my team of 1 SpDef Wall, 1 Def Wall, 2 Physical Sweepers, and 2 Special Sweepers. Is that a good idea or is there a better way of running the team?

4 sweepers is quite a lot. Don't forget to have an effective lead, you usually shouldn't lead with a sweeper.

I agree it is alot but my Gengar has now become a semi-staller. So its down to 3.5 I guess? If I don't lead with my Latios/Garchomp I will lead with Ferrothorn. I usually just look to see if I can rip a huge hole off the bat with either dragon, then switch out when they're threatened. Any suggestions for a good lead?

Well when I think leads, I think of something that can set up hazards or act as an anti-lead with taunt. Its rather hard having an effective lead this gen due to team preview, but I have been using Deoxys-S, and it has given me wonderful results:

Deoxys-S @Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spd/ 4 Hp
Nature: Jolly/Adamant
- Taunt
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Superpower

I use Superpower due to the large amounts of Tyranitar leads and Mamoswine with Earthquake+Ice Shard.

Hmm. That sounds interesting. What do you reccommend I replace for Deoxys-S ? Victini? And it will help as a fighting-resist. Hellz Yeah!

Yes, get rid of Victini. It appears you were intending Victini to be your Lead, which is not that great of an idea. At least with Deoxys you get some form of hazards up since your Ferrothorn doesn't do that.

I just want to point out that both of your walls have a fighting weakness, but you should have that coveres with your other Pokemon, but just keep that in mind.

That's what I did. Deoxys for Victini. Any suggestions for a special wall .. I really like ferrothorn w/ iron barbs + rocky helmet as it helps to take the obvious fake outs / any punches then deal 25% damage to the opponent which is incredibly helpful.
