Team Oxiclean (My tribute to Billy Mays)

Team Oxiclean

A Moment of Silence (Don't read if you don't want to):
As you some of you may know as of a June 28 Billy Mays was found dead at his house in Tampa, Florida. You may have seen him in one of his many informercials as the guy who was practically yelling at you to buy the product. He also has a show (Which kicks ass btw) "PitchMen" which he hosts alongside Anthony Sullivan which just finished its first season. In honor for him I will be using the name "RIP Billy Mays" for the next couple of months on Shoddy. I was saddened by the news as he was really an awesome person and the amount of passion he put into his commercials is legendary and will be remembered forever.

In honor of Billy Mays I decided I would make a team with all the nicknames being references to popular products he pitched, and whats not more popular than Oxiclean, so I wanted a good cleaner with a blue color scheme. In search of a main sweeper noticed the usage of Empoleon was pretty low, which is sad because I think he could be one of the best late game cleaners out there. The team attempts to set-up passive damage in Toxic Spikes, Stealth Rock, and Sandstorm in order to wear down my opposition and then bring in Empoleon when everything is poisoned to prepare to sweep. Changes will be in red.

Zorbeez-Roserade
Item: Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Att)
EVs: (252 SpA, 252 Spe)
-Sleep Powder
-Grass Knot
-HP Fire
-Toxic Spikes

To kick the team off is Roserade, I needed something that can set-up Toxic Spikes and Foretress just wasn't going to cut it since he was so damn slow, while Tentacruel was just meh. Then I stumbled upon this gold, it almost always gets a TS down while its Poison typing may let me switch him back in to absorb my opponent's TS if he manages to switchout safely. The set is pretty standard, Grass Knot for STAB, HP Fire for Foretress who try to Rapid Spin and Sleep Powder to incapitate threats. How Roserade fairs against most leads:

dpiconani482.gif
-I lose against. I'm forced to switch to Tar and Pursuit it.

dpiconani260.gif
-Grass Knot eats him for breakfast

dpiconani376.gif
-Put him to sleep then set-up Toxic Spikes and if he is still sleeping, poke at him with HP Fire

dpiconani248.gif
-Sleep him and proceed to 2HKO with Grass Knot

dpiconani142.gif
-He Taunts, I GK for the 2HKO. In a sense he wins

dpiconani291.gif
-Fail against him, but then again most leads do. I just switch to Pert and Roar away their pathetic attempts to BP

dpiconani235.gif
-Outsped then put to sleep. I usually KO him since I don't want to risk him waking up then getting that all inportant Ingrain down.

dpiconani392.gif
-Ouch! He hurts and nothing on the team likes his attacks. I usually switch to Tar immediatly to break his Sash while they Fake Out. I then switch to Cresselia to set-up screens and then switch to Gengar to finish the job since SS should have weakened him enough.

dpiconani460.gif
-HP Fire= No Christmas this year

dpiconani450.gif
- Grass Knot makes quick work of him.

dpiconani130.gif
-Sleep Powder him and proceed to kill him with Grass Knot. 2HKO on non-bulky varients while I must suffice with a 3HKO on bulky versions.

What this product does for the team:
Sets down Toxic Spikes which is much need for Empoleon to sweep since it lets me stall out Vaporeon and Blissey not carrying Heal Bell (The majority of them).

For only 19.99:

Mighty Putty-Swampert
Item: Leftovers
EVs: (240 HP, 252 Def, 18 SpA)
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Spe)
-Ice Beam
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock
-Roar
My second set-up for entry hazards and my answer to a Tar that has gotten a few too many DDs in. I wanted something that was bulky, could set-up SR, and Roar and Swampert does this all excellently. Now I know what you guys are thinking "Cupcake! Your not packing a Water move you idiot!" well I really wanted Roar and SR on the moveset while Earthquake should be set in stone for all Swamperts, but I really needed a way to fight against Mence and Nite. Roar is there to spread Toxic like a whore and gives me an answer to BP teams (Fuck you Ninjask)

What this product does for the team:
First and primarily I need to get SR down without the Pokemon being to frail so Mamoswine didn't work. I was also having problems with BP teams so Swampert keeps them in check by phazing them away. I also needed a counter against Tyranitar which rips my team apart if he is able to set-up DDs. Lastly the nice surprise factor of Roar+SR is nice when a cocky Gyrados comes in expecting to set-up.

Sweeping, just got easier

Orange Glo-Cresselia
Item: Light Clay
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Att)
EVs: (252 HP, 252 Def)
Ability: Levitate
-Light Screen
-Reflect
-Thunder Wave/Lunar Wish
-Ice Beam
Probably the most expandable member of my team. Cresselia is there to soften up blows to my Empoleon when he constantly subs but more importantly it weakens priority moves against him which could be deadly at >25%. Ice Beam so I don't become a sitting tank against Mence and other dragons alike. I'm really torn between using either Thunder Wave or Lunar Wish. On one hand I can incapitate levitators on the other hand Lunar Wish can completly heal Empoleon if I had to switch when he was weak, plus it also extends the amount of turns Empoleon has behind the screens. Currently I'm running Lunar Wish but that is subject to change.

What this product does for my team:
She weakens priority moves on Empoleon and heals him with Lunar Wish in case I messed up my sweep. Thats pretty much it, I don't exactly remember why I put her on the team. It hasn't been doing bad but at the same time it hasn't been doing anything extraordinary.

Its so easy even your kids can do it

Spr_4p_479O.png

The Handy Switch-Rotom-H
Item: Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Att)
EVs: (252 Spe, 252 SpA)
Ability: Levitate
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-Trick
-Overheat

Replaced ScarfGar since Scizor could really slap this team around. Has STAB Thunderbolt too. Trick further cripples Blissey and Overheat to catch Scizor and Foretress. He serves as my spin blocker and has a nice surprise factor since many expect the bulky sets, caught numerous Gengars off guard.

What this product does for the team:
Allows me to keep entry hazards my team so much depends on. It is my immediate answer to Gyrados which can be a major problem to my team if he gets 2-3DDs in. Replaced Gar because I can actually KO Foretress now instead of eating a Gyro Ball like I did before.

And you'll never have to switch in ever again

Spr_4d_248.png

Kaboom-Tyranitar
Item: Choice Band
Nature: Adamant (+Att, -SpA)
EVs: (168 HP, 252 Att, 88 Spe)
Ability: Sand Stream
-Stone Edge
-Pursuit
-Aqua Tail
-Earthquake

I love BandTar, it hits like a tank with that obscenly high Attack stat. I wanted to run both Aqua Tail and Earthquake dropping Crunch since most opposing trainers will never keep something weak to Dark against Tar thus diminishing alot of Crunch's use. Everything else is pretty obvious. EVs give outspeed other standard ChoiceTar's running 80 speed spread.

What this product does for my team:
I needed something that could punish Latias as the bulky CM versions can outstall my Empoleon. I also needed to get SS set-up so breaking down walls will become that much easier. Tar is my real answer to anything frail that attempts so switchout, he is a firm member on the team and has served his job well.

I guarantee it
Spr_4p_395.png

Oxiclean-Empoleon
Item: Petaya Berry
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Att)
Ability: Torrent
EVs: (252 SpA, 24 Hp, 232 Spe)
-Surf
-Grass Knot
-Agility
-Substitute
The star of the show and as the name suggests, probably one of the best cleaners out there. Standard SubAgility variant with Grass Knot as an answer to Suicune. EVs give just enough to outspeed ScarfCross. Really, when he gets to set-up, he is invisible people just aren't prepared for him.

Team Building Process:
Spr_b_g4_395.png

I really wanted to try my hand with Empoleon. I chose to run Grass Knot over Ice Beam so bulky waters will no longer stall me thus I would that I didn't need a full fledged Water counter, but I needed a way to take down Vaporeon and Blissey who would otherwise wall the entire set.

Spr_b_g4_395.png
Spr_b_g4_407_m.png

In comes Roserade to save the day. He sets up Toxic Spikes crippling Vaporeon and Blissey allowing Empoleon to stall them out with subs. I this point I realize Latias can eat this team inside out

Spr_b_g4_395.png
Spr_b_g4_407_m.png
Spr_b_g4_248.png

In comes loveable CBTar to punish mean old Latias with Pursuits. Plus he sets up SS with further wears downs things like Blissey. At this point I learn that if Gyrados or Tyranitar are able to get 1DD in than I will be in trouble.

Spr_b_g4_395.png
Spr_b_g4_407_m.png
Spr_b_g4_248.png
Spr_b_g4_094.png

I bring in ScarfGar to remedy this problem. Gyrados fears Tbolt while TTar will fall against Focus Blast. Plus I can Trick the Scarf onto Blissey further crippling that fat whore. Now that I have a good offensive core down I want to get SR down. Something bulky and can take Tar down since I don't trust Focus Blast's accuracy.

Spr_b_g4_248.png
Spr_b_g4_094.png
Spr_b_g4_260.png

Who better do that than Swampert. He can shrug off most of Tar's hits and retaliate with EQ. I also wanted someone who can Roar so 1. I don't have to worry about crappy BP teams and 2. I can spread Toxic Spikes like a bitch. I think you guys may have noticed a DDMence weakness I also realized that priority moves can really hamper Empoleon's sweep so I needed something that can set-up screens and take out Mence.

Spr_b_g4_248.png
Spr_b_g4_094.png
Spr_b_g4_260.png
Spr_b_g4_488.png

In comes Cresselia, a Poke I swore I would never use due to its the amount of anger it caused me in the past. +1 Outrage from Mence fails to KO and I can 1HKO back with Ice Beam. She gets the screens set-up and Lunar Wishes to Empoleon if I had to abruptly end his sweep. But really shes just a filler until I find something better

Mock, steal, but remember to rate since I worked my ass off for 3 hours making this. So, are you on the ball?

Replaced Team Members:

Spr_4p_094.png

The Handy Switch-Gengar
Item: Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Att)
EVs: (252 Spe, 252 SpA)
Ability: Levitate
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Trick
-Focus Blast

Served as my spin blocker but was replaced by Rotom since Scizor ate him up. He really couldn't do much to Foretress even though he was supposed to block him.

Testing:

Spr_4d_380_s.png

Orange Glo-Latias
Item: Light Clay
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Att)
EVs: (252 Spe, 252 HP)
Ability: Levitate
-Reflect
-Light Screen
-Draco Meteor
-Wish

In to replace Cresselia since all she really does is screen then die. With Latias I can have dualscreens and a wishpasser. She can actually hit stuff with Draco Meteor unlike Cresselia's measly Ice Beam. It also takes care of MixApe which was a huge thorn on my team. Only reason I haven't officially put her in the team is that Scarfgon could prove to be a problem.

Threat List. Small threats will be orange while major threats will be red, non-threats will be green. Leads will not be omitted since I already stated how I deal with them above.

Offensive:
dpiconani065.gif
-Easy to take down just depends on who the current Pokemon out is. Rotom can outspeed while Tyranitar can trap scarf variants.
dpiconani482.gif
-Rotom outspeeds and if hes not carrying Focus Blast then Tar has an easy time with him
dpiconani286.gif
-Almost every team has a problem with this thing. The SubSporePunch version rips this team apart, I usually lose half my team to it. Huge problem but I really don't want to pack a SleepTalker just for him
dpiconani149.gif
-Swampert can phaze him, while Cresselia can KO him with Ice Beam.
dpiconani051.gif
-Taking him down is no problem, but he can trap and kill Tar and can kill Empoleon too if I haven't used Agility yet.
dpiconani466.gif
-Lulz Evire. Cresselia sets up screens, while Swampert can EQ or slap him around with Roar.
dpiconani395.gif
-Surprisingly enough I really can't counter my own sweeper. If they're carrying Grass Knot over Ice Beam than I am officially screwed since Swampert can't hope to come in. Big problem and it all really boils down to who got their Empoleon out first
dpiconani330.gif
-Just have to predict what it does. Swampert scoffs at most of its hits while Cresselia can set-up screens
dpiconani094.gif
-My Rotom outspeeds standard varients though I lose to ScarfGar. Tyranitar can trap them with Pursuit if Rotom falls.
dpiconani130.gif
-Swampert can phaze non-Taunt varients while Rotom can just bypass their DD can kill with Thunderbolt
dpiconani485.gif
-Again, boils down to prediction wars. I usually switch to Cresselia to set-up screens then pass to Empoleon to set-up Agility on him. Bulky versions are a little tricky but Swampert does pretty well against them.
dpiconani214.gif
-Ouch, this guy hits like a beast and can take my whole team if they predict correctly. Though if Empoleon gets an Agility in then I can stall with subs and then go for the kill with Surf
dpiconani392.gif
-Cresselia sets up screens and then passes to Rotom which can take him out since Toxic Spikes and Sandstorm should have worn him down.
dpiconani135.gif
-Prediction wars again. Tyranitar can revenge kill with Pursuit while Gengar can take him out after hes been weakened by passive damage.
dpiconani230.gif
-Set-up bait for Empoleon
dpiconani380.gif
-Latias fears Tyranitar, while Rotom can shave off alot of her health with Shadow Ball
dpiconani448.gif
-Rotom outspeeds and runs him to a crisp
dpiconani068.gif
-A little bit tricky. I usually set-up screens with Cresselia then switch to Gar to trick the scarf onto him.
dpiconani462.gif
-Only Empoleon is trapped by him and Thunderbolt fails to KO if I have Light Screen out.
dpiconani473.gif
-I can't really do anything to him, but he can't do anything to me. I usually switch in Cresselia and poke at him with Ice Beam while Toxic slowly wears him down.
dpiconani376.gif
-Swampert can take him on and only has to fear the occasional Explosion
dpiconani474.gif
-Predict what he does and switch to an appropriate counter. Usually they play it safe and Tri-Attack so I bring in Empoleon to set-up. If I predict HP Fightning then I switch to Rotom while Tyranitar can shrug off Thunderbolts and kill with Pursuit
dpiconani464.gif
-Really scary...and slow. My entire team outspeeds him and I don't fear the SubPerior since Toxic Spikes makes quick work of him.
dpiconani479.gif
-Tar can Pursuit the scarfed version while Rotom doesn't care about Will-o-Wisp and can kill them with Shadow Ball.
dpiconani373.gif
-Usually sacrifice a team member to bring in either Cresselia or Swampert to KO with Ice Beam
dpiconani212.gif
-Rotom can cook the little bugger.
dpiconani143.gif
-Very underrated indeed. He can deal out alot of damage and takes even Empoleon's boosted Surfs well. The Curse versions running Resttalk can be dealt with Rotom, if he running Crunch too than I usually just trick a scarf onto him.
dpiconani121.gif
-Rotom not only blocks the spin but can KO with Shadow Ball.
dpiconani248.gif
-Tyranitar fears Swampert.
dpiconani461.gif
-Swampert takes all his hits with ease. Empoleon can survive an non-Swords Dance boosted Brick Break and can set up Agility on him. Rotom can outspeed him and KO with Overheat

Defensive:

dpiconani242.gif
-So many ways to take her down. Rotom can Trick the scarf onto her. Tar can pick her out if she is damaged with Pursuit. Empoleon can outstall her if I sucessfully go Toxic Spikes down.
dpiconani437.gif
-I usually bring in Empoleon and set-up from there since even Earthquake fails to do much on Empoleon.
dpiconani251.gif
-Tyranitar can pick off an injured Celebi that was been worn down by Toxic Spikes and SS same for Rotom. SubSeed versions have caused me some problems

dpiconani488.gif
-Sandstorm ruins her chance of tanking with Moonlight. Tyranitar keeps her in check and Rotom can Trick the scarf if she is becoming too much of a problem with her screens
dpiconani232.gif
-Can kill with Empoleon and maybe Roserade if she is still alive. Rotom can take most of his hits bar Stone Edge really well.
dpiconani477.gif
-Switch to Empoleon set-up subs and proceed to sweep. TTar and Rotom have no problem if hes weakened
dpiconani205.gif
-Rotom nuff said
dpiconani472.gif
-Cresselia and Swampert can dent it with Ice Beam
dpiconani450.gif
-Switch in Cresselia and set-up screens and pass to Empoleon...I'm pretty sure this is the bijillionth time I've said that but it works. If Roserade is still alive then I can do with him and keep Cresselia healthy.
dpiconani385.gif
-SubCM is easy to deal with since Swampert can take its hits but my team really hates the FlinchHax versions. Tar's EQ is my only real shot at bringing him down without too much trouble.
dpiconani227.gif
-Annoying but as soon as he Whirlwinds me away the switch-in can do more than enough to take it down.
dpiconani245.gif
-Empoleon resists all his attacks bar HP Electric, but even that does meager damage and I can hit him hard with Grass Knot. Rotom can shave off a good amount with Thunderbolt
dpiconani260.gif
-Empoleon outspeeds and 1HKOs with Grass Knot
dpiconani073.gif
-Roserade absorbs the Toxic Spikes. Tyranitar and Swampert can kill with EQ while Empoleon can poke him with Grass Knot. Either way, hes going to get Toxic Spikes down
dpiconani468.gif
-Oh Togekiss, how much of a bitch you are. He can wreck my team with her flinchax. I usually resort to Tricking her ASAP.
dpiconani134.gif
-Empoleon can set-up on her while Toxic Spikes slowly beats her down
dpiconani145.gif
-Tyranitar rips her aprat with Stone Edge and Swampert can get SR and Roar her away if shes not carrying HP Grass

forgive me if I'm mistaken but with Mamoswine's priority Ice Shard, your Roserade could prove ineffective early on.

Idk about the damage calculations, but what would you do about a Mamo lead?

Sleep it first turn. Pretty simple if you ask me?

As you mentiond MixApe really does a number against this team. You should really replace something for a decent MixApe counter. I'm thinking you should put in Latias over Gengar. Gengar really isn't very good anymore due to the ridiculous popularity of the CB set, and every Gengar set in the analysis is OHKO'd by Bullet Punch or a Pursuit. Latias with the offensive calm mind set could really help with sweeping and it counters Infernape pretty well, as it's not even 2ko'd by Life Orb HP Ice.

But then you're seriously screwed by U-turn teams, as you'll have 3 weaks. o.o

just use the standard EVs from the analysis on Empoleon, losing to scarftran after an agility is really lame.

But if I remove Gengar than the opposition is free to Rapid Spin all they want ruining my chances to outstall Vaporeon with Empoleon. And Cresselia takes hits from Infernape pretty well, the passive damage would eventually kill him and if not I can bring in Gar to revenge. I was considering Latias but that just gives me even less of a chance against TTar. Hmm, I'm thinking of replacing Gengar with ScarfRotom they do almost the same thing, still outspeeding +1 Gyrados and being able to respond to Scizor with Overheat. Only thing I don't like is that I lose to other ScarfGars but I guess thats what Tyranitar is for. Maybe I should just drop Cresselia since she hasn't been really doing anything outstanding, would DualScreen Latias be any good? But then again that leaves me open to Mence

The way that Lead Roserade's are EV'd, the chance of a Adamant 252 EV Ice Shard from Mamoswine OHKO'ing is high, is it not?
Hi, my name is Focus Sash!

Mamoswine isn't a problem and it isn't even that common. I'd be more worried about Infernape and Azelf leads.

Hello, my friend, welcome to Pokemon! In the world of Pokemon there is an amazing item called the Focus Sash. This item makes it that if you are at full health and get hit by an attack that would kill you, you instead are left with 1 HP!

Fascinating, isn't it!?

OG: Yeah, Scarf Rotom is probably a better choice than Gengar if you want a spin blocker. Rotom-A is pretty much the best spin blocker that exists right now, and he gives you another great counter to Scizor and Gyarados, and can counter Lucario EXTREMELY well.

Thanks for the suggestions. Rotom has been doing alot better than Gengar. Having an actual answer to Foretress was nice instead of chipping at his hp with Thunderbolt. Lucario has become even less of a problem.

Would it be smart to drop Trick on Rotom for HP Ground? I noticed that most teams with Scizor and Foretress also pack Heatran. As soon as they see Rotom-H they immediately run to Heatran. It packs a huge surprise factor.

From initial testing Dualscreen Latias has been proving pretty well. I no longer fear Mixape. Draco Meteor hits surprisingly hard even without EV investment and does a lot more than Cresselia's Ice Beam ever dreamed of. And Wish has proven to be a better recovery move than Lunar Wish. Though Scarfgon has proven to be a huge problem. Mamoswine to some extent to.

LMAO.... my badddd, I completely failed to notice that he had a Focus Sash on Roserade. I just presumed that it was carrying a Choice Scarf as that's what I had on my leadRade on my previous team (which by the way works pretty well, though I'm not sure if it would be as effective on this team, probably not.) A total act of ignorance on my part. Once again I apologize lol.
