Team Pingas~ [OU RMT]

Alright, after my last RMT, which turned out very well, my team is has become somewhat outdated. My Hippowdon lead just hasn't been getting the job done lately with the amount of Swampert leads, and I just haven't been able to get a sweep going with T-tar like I used to. So, this is a new team I was making last night. It's nowhere near finished, and needs quite a bit of work, which is why I posted it here. Anyway, like my last RMT, I'm going to go through a whole team building and thought process, as well as a threat list. So, let's get started.

-Team Building Process-

Okay, so like my last team how I centered it around DD Tyranitar, I wanted to center it around something. But what? At first I thought Curse Snorlax, but I've used that to death in previous teams, and there are just too many fighting and steel types out there. So, I thought hey, maybe I'll try a Calm Mind Suicune. I've acually never used Suicune before, in any set, but I've had it used on me, definetly. It's a pain to take down. So, Team Pingas was born. Here we are with the team building process:
dpicon245.png

-Suicune. The center of my team. Now, Calm Mind/Rest Suicune, like Snorlax, suffers from two move syndrome, which I don't like, but that's why I'm putting pokemon to counter Suicune's counters on my team. Let's look at a list of it's counters:
Blissey: Ugh.. Blissey. Blissey is countered by any fighting type with STAB for the most part.
Jolteon: Jolteon is frail, and countered by most physical Scarfers.
Celebi: Celebi is countered by things like Heatran, Infernape, and the like. Good to keep in mind.
Zapdos: Zapdos can be countered by things like Tyranitar or Rotom, that don't take much from a Hidden Power, Thunderbolt, or Heat Wave.
Latias: Latias is also countered by Tyranitar, seeing as T-tar isn't killed off by Surf, and can easily be OHKO'd by Tyranitar.
Magnezone: Magnezone, especially scarf variants, are countered by ScarfTran, and any STAB fighting, fire, or any ground move. Dugtrio can trap it and kill it off.
Rotom: Rotom is countered by Tyranitar, so long as it doesn't have HP Fighting, Heatran does a bit of damage to it, and Latias can OHKO it with a Draco Meteor.
Tentacruel: Tentacruel is countered by anything with Earthquake, namely Dugtrio with its Arena Trap Ability.
Vaporeon: Vaporeon is countered by Rotom, Jolteon, Magnezone, and sometimes Starmie.

Now these aren't all the counters for Suicune, but the ones that I could think of. Looking at the list here, it looks like Rotom, Dugtrio, and maybe ScarfTran will counter most things.. Except Blissey. So, after thinking for a few minutes, I came across Scarf Infernape. It can kill off Jolteon, opposing ScarfTran, Magnezone... and Blissey. >:D So, that's what I went with.
dpicon245.png
dpicon392.png

So I've got Suicune, and a pokemon to counter a few of it's counters. Now, all that leaves to counter is Latias, Vaporeon, Tentacruel, Celebi, and Zapdos. As I said, Tentacruel is countered by Dugtrio, who I use a lot on my teams. Dugtrio can also do decent damage to Zapdos with Stone Edge. It does good damage to Rotom and Latias as well with Sucker Punch/Night Slash.
dpicon245.png
dpicon392.png
dpicon051.png

Okay, so all I have left to counter is Zapdos and Celebi... Tyranitar seems like he'd be good for the job. He also counters Latias better than Duggy.

So, now that we have Suicune, and counters for its counters, it's time to pick out a lead. At first I thought Jirachi, but with all the other Jirachi's, and Metagross and Swampert leads out there, it'd be walled, and quite easy for the opponent to predict. So, I turned to one of my favorite leads to use... Bronzong. See, Bronzong is great in this metagame, because with all the Metagross and Swamperts out there, neither of them can touch it, and it's free to sleep, set up Stealth Rocks, and eventually Explode. It also hits those faster leads like Azelf with Gyro Ball. I know you'll say it's pretty D/P... but that's the point.
dpicon437.png

dpicon248.png

K, so the team is basically built, but now I just need a pokemon to balance out the weaknesses. Hm... I don't really have anything to take a fighting move for T-tar, or anybody to safely take an earthquake besides Bronzong, and a lot of the time he goes and Explodes early on. I also don't have a spin blocker. So, Rotom comes to mind here.

Okay! Now it's time to rate the team.

bronzong.png

Bronzong@ Leftovers
Levitate
Relaxed Nature
252 HP / 86 Attack / 80 Defense / 92 Special Defense
~Gyro Ball
~Explosion
~Stealth Rock
~Hypnosis
Alright, so this is the standard lead Bronzong from D/P. Despite the new Platinum metagame, I find it still works pretty well. Swampert and Metagross can't touch this thing, and it's bulky enough so I can bring him in later and Explode if I need to. He's pretty reliable in getting Stealth Rock up, and can deal decent damage on those faster leads with Gyro Ball, like Azelf and the like.

suicune.png

Suicune@ Leftovers
Pressure
Bold Nature
252 HP / 200 Defense / 56 Special Attack
~Calm Mind
~Rest
~Surf
~Ice Beam
So here is the centerpiece of my team, Suicune. I've never used it before, but it can deal some serious damage with a calm mind or two up. Now, I don't pack maximum defense on this thing, because even if I don't have a Calm Mind up, I want to be able to do SOME damage, and I don't think maximum defense is really nescessary. I haven't really done any calcs though. :|

infernape.png

Infernape@ Choice Scarf
Blaze
Naughty Nature
212 Attack / 64 Special Attack / 232 Speed
~Overheat
~Close Combat
~Thunder Punch
~Grass Knot
So here I've got a slightly different Infernape set I tailored to my team. The EV's I partially took from the analysis, the speed at least, and made it Naughty Nature. This is my answer to Dragon Dance Gyarados, who otherwise would hurt this team pretty badly. Overheat is my special STAB move, something I only use when it's super effective and can grant me a kill, Close Combat is my main form of attacking, seeing as most of my EV's are invested in attack. ThunderPunch is for Gyarados, and Grass Knot is for Swampert, who also is a bit tough to take down. Now, I realize I can't do anything against Latias and Salamence, but those guys are handled by Dugtrio, Rotom, and Tyranitar.

dugtrio.png

Dugtrio@ Life Orb
Arena Trap
Jolly Nature
6 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
~Earthquake
~Stone Edge
~Sucker Punch
~Aerial Ace
Ah Dugtrio. I use him on almost every team I make, just because he's the best revenge killer out there, and can trap and kill pokemon. I'm not using a Choice Band, because whenever I do use CB, I always just get one kill, and have to go and sacrifice something, then come back in. With Life Orb though, I don't have to do that, and can switch moves, so it makes prediction a little easier, especially with Sucker Punch. I acually haven't noticed a huge drop in power, to be honest. Dugtrio never exactly was the epitome of raw power anyway. Earthquake is... Earthquake, Stone Edge for flying types like Salamence, and Gyarados before a Dragon Dance, Sucker Punch is for Latias and Starmie, etc, and Aerial Ace is for things like Breloom and Heracross. I'm thinking about putting Pursuit here, but meh. Or maybe Night Slash, but that would be kind of redundant.

tyranitar.png

Tyranitar@ Choice Band
Sand Stream
Adamant
176 HP / 252 Attack / 80 Speed
~Crunch
~Pursuit
~Stone Edge
~Earthquake
Heh, as much as I hate the Arkeis sprite, here's my main powerhouse on this team, Tyranitar. Like Suicune, I've never used a CB T-tar before, but now, I don't know if I'll make any team without him. It's bulky, and is just so insanely powerful. So many things switch out on Tyranitar, so predicting switches with Pursuit is pretty easy, and since it's STAB, along with CB, even if they don't switch out it does pretty decent damage. Even more if it's super effective. Earthquake is there, because I prefer to have coverage against Steel types, rather than fire types, because more often than not, I'll be switching out, or they will be switching out.

rotomwash.png

Rotom-W@ Leftovers
Levitate
Bold Nature
252 HP / 136 Defense / 120 Special Defense
~Discharge
~Shadow Ball
~Rest
~Sleep Talk
Now, this is the member of my team that is most likely to be replaced. I chose Rotom because I needed a ghost, spin blocker, and a wall of sorts. ResTalk appealed to me for it's durability, and the good coverage that it has with Discharge and Shadow Ball. Although, I haven't really found a whole lot of use for it besides this. And.. it's only Wash form because I like Wash form. ^_^;

So.. RMT!

Okay, well, my computer is being lame and won't let me update things, so I need to make a double post:
I won't be doing a threat list, I just completed it and I accidentally pressed backspace, and it deleted the whole thing, and I really don't feel like doing it again. >_>
I also can't edit the title either. So.. yeah. *sigh*

Yo, the team is pretty solid overall, although I do feel that you could improve on this and make a successful Suicune sweep. Dugtrio is a cool Pokemon, I have to admit, but its bringing it in is the hard part. How do you trap Tentacruel and such without a successful scouter? Well I think Scizor will benefit over Infernape for several reasons:

Scizor
@ Choice Band
Adamant Nature (Atk+ / SpA-)
232 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spe

- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Its just a perfect addition to the team thanks to the scouting ability Scizor has. Basically you heavily rely on Dugtrio to trap some key Pokemon who threaten Suicune. U-turn is great and is to scout for switch-outs, and mainly help out Dugtrio switch-in without impunity. Bullet Punch acts as a safety check to frailer pokes like Weavile, Mamoswine and such. Superpower is filler and smashes Blissey and Curse Snorlax mainly. Pursuit helps trap fleeing Blissey, helping Suicune in the long run. Also helps check Celebi, grabbing you a free U-turn, as defensive versions will fail to even OHKO you with HP Fire.

With that being said, I think your safest bet with Gyarados along with Lucario is slapping Scarf on Rotom with the moveset: Thunderbolt / Overheat / Trick / Shadow Ball with the EV 252 HP / 6 SpA / 252 Spe. Basically, you outpace Lucario and OHKO with Overheat and Thunderbolt will outpace and kill Gyarados. 252 HP Ensures you save yourself from a boosted Waterfall and an unboosted Crunch. You can try a 252 Atk / 176 SpD / 80 Spe to on Tyranitar to shift your focus on sponging special hits, especially from Jolteon and Latias, grabbing yourself a free KO with Pursuit. The EVs allow you to survive 3 Life Orb Surfs from Latias. gl with this.

This team looks solid, but I think if you are using Suicune to sweep, we should at least change its moveset. Try this set here:

Suicune@ Life Orb
Pressure
Timid nature (+Speed, -Attack)
4 HP/252 Sp. Attack/252 Speed

Calm Mind
Surf
Ice Beam
HP Electric

There you go! This is the set I like to run. You lose a lot of bulk, but it's a good trade off for one hell of sweeper. Calm Mind is your boosting move, while Ice Beam hits the Dragons and HP Electric gives Suicune BoltBeam coverage.

Roar can be used in the last slot to phaze out phazers.

The EV's allow Suicune to outrun neutral base 90's.

I agree with Franky, I think you should change Infernape to a CB Scizor.

Hope I helped, and Good Luck.

Once Suicune is taken out a good water pokemon can take out the rest of the team apart from Rotom. So as earlier said try a CB scizor on your team.

Maybe change rotom's moveset to a choice scarfer
Rotom-w @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

This makes an excellent revenge killer as it can OHKO gyrados who could take out your whole team if suicune is gone..

Otherwise I would change it to Choice Scarf Latias.
Latias (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 SpA/ 252 Spd
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

So I Hope I have helped you

Thank you all for your help. I'm not sure why, but CB Scizor just never occurred to me.
@Witness: I looked at the life orb set originally, but I like the sheer bulk that rest cune provides. I'll try it though.
@Franky: that rotom set... I don't really see the point of all the hp, because I wouldn't be switching in on those attacks anyway, and iwould need some SpA to take on scarftran.

24 Hour Bump, and I'd like to say thanks again, I tried out the changes, and they've helped a lot.
Although, on Suicune I kept Leftovers, because when I had the Life Orb, I found I was dying a bit faster than I had hoped. Like, if I set up early game, and came back later, I was to weak from Life Orb to set up again and get a sweep going.
EDIT: Another thing. I'm having a LOT of trouble with Breloom, despite having Aerial Ace on Dugtrio, Scizor, etc. I've noticed people lead with them. I think Azelf may be a good lead to use. Bronzong... he hasn't really been doing as much my last few matches, mainly acting as Sleep fodder. Azelf can deal with Breloom, Metagross, and Explode on Swampert, the latter of which I acually haven't seen a whole lot of lately.
