Drapion
Not a OU pokemon, but great. I wanted a Toxic Spikes lead, but I don't like how Forretress is so slow and how Roserade is so frail. I've used Omastar a few times, but he's no good either due to his weaknesses. So I went with one of my favourite pokemon: Drapion. He's reasonably fast, strong, and bulky, so why not?
Drapion@Lum Berry
Trait: Sniper
EVs: 32 HP 252 Atk 224 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Toxic Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Cross Poison
This is used to set up toxic spikes and then to head for a sweep. However, there's options. Whirlwind is for Phazing out Swords Dancers and getting Walls a dose of Toxic Spikes, while I have moves and the speed to sweep in case of a taunt. Crunch is a stab with great coverage, and Cross Poison, while giving unreliable coverage, is deadly when added with Sniper.
Dusknoir
Dusknoir was always fun since PMD Explorers of Time, and it's role as a spinblocker brings back old memories. With it's usable attack and great defenses, I can rely on him to switch in whenever something might want to spin Drapion.
Dusknoir@Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP 32 Atk 112 Def 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Pain Split
- Firepunch
- Thunderpunch
- Earthquake
It's kinda corny to all three punches, so I didn't, and I'm glad, because Earthquake is stronger. Pain Split leeches anything, so it's semi-reliable recovery (Why hello there Blissey...) and the other moves will be super efective 53% of the time and always hit neutral, unless I'm facing a Rotom-H in Gen V. How'd I pick the moves? The sweepers are Starmie, Forretress, and Tentacruel. Thunderpunch takes out the former and final, while Firepunch is a OHKO to Forretress. I didn't give him Will-O-Wisp because most Rapid Spinners are special or walls and there's already Toxic Spikes for them.
Alakazam
The original special sweeper, this mate fills it's place in my team by sweeping. And sweeping. And sweeping some more. It has, I think (Not sure) the highest Sp. Attack of any Non-Legendary in Gen IV, and it's the most Special Sweeper I could get my hands on that wasn't Uber.
Alakazam@Choice Specs
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 4 HP 252 SpA 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- HP Fire
- Signal Beam
Almost unbeatable coverage. Psychic is amazing STAB, Focus Blast inaccurate but deadly, HP FIre provides amazing coverage, and Signal Beam for the enemy Alakazam. And again, the speed is unbeatable- Until you meet my next pokemon.
Weavile
The most badarse pokemon in the WORLD, Weavile, is on my team. I call this guy the Alakazam of Physical Sweepers, being frail but devastating. To quote Jonathan Coulton, "And while it's killing you dead it will mess with your head." It's annoying being sweeped by what looks like a cross between a paper fan and a ferret.
Weavile@Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 40 HP 252 Atk 216 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Night Slash
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick
Fake Out will annoy the living hell out of the enemy, and then I pick the attack that'll work best. Night Slash for critical abuse, Ice Shard in case it might be faster (Hello there, Alakazam) and Low Kick for a Rhypherior or Steelix. And apart for a Mach Puncher Primape, not much is faster, and there's nothing that I can fear a pursuit from that I can't take on myself.
Infernape
The god of Mixed Sweepers (Sorry Electrivire, you just aren't cut out for this right now), Infernape, has risen. With an amazing physical movepool and a special move in case of the wall, I bring you Mixnape. All shall hail the animal king.
Infernape@Expert Belt
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk 44 SpA 212 Spe
Naive Nature
- Close Combat
- Overheat
- U-Turn
- Stone Edge
This is super effective to all but 206 pokemon, and let's assume half of them are unevolved. That's amazing coverage. Close Combat doesn't care about defense because Infernape is too frail anyways, while Stone Edge OHKOs Flying types, or anything really. U-Turn can stop the crippling caused by Overheat, which is amazing against a sun team.
Rayquaza
I know, I shouldn't use an Uber in OU, but people keep doing it, and when people send out 6 Ubers, this guy's my backup. I have nothing to say for the reason I chose him but that he is the most amazing sweeper on earth, in my opinion.
Rayquaza@Life Orb
Trait: Air Lock
EVs: Fire Blast
nature Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Extremespeed
- Focus Blast
This guy has swept anything, and it's useful because in PBR, which is what this team is built for, we use up to 4 pokemon most of the time. So I don't use him if the foe has no Ubers. The only downside is if we both have one and I use him, I seem like an arse.
So long, and thanks for all the fish~
