Team Riko

Not a very good name, but that's what it is... it's my team.

As my first post on the forums, I figured it should be a RMT thread.

Please note that I am somewhat of a n00b to the competitive community, and as such, I am missing some important factors (such as EVs; I have no record of EVs my Pokémon have, so if someone knows how I can find out, tell me).

General Theme: Speed; with the exception of Swampert, all of my Pokémon have at least decent Speed.

Analysis: Definitely the best team I've ever made. It does however, seem to have a weakness to Fighting-Type teams, and Double Battles don't do my Ninjask any favors.

ninjask.png

Ninjask (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: None
Nature: Quiet
- X-Scissor
- Baton Pass
- Swords Dance
- Substitute
The Standard Baton Passer of the team, it's pretty simple as to what Ninjask does. Stall with Substitute, Swords Dance if possible, and when Speed becomes high enough, Baton Pass. Although I switch into whatever is needed at the time, I usually switch into Swampert to give him a major Speed Boost.

gengar.png

Gengar (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: None
Nature: Hasty
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Hypnosis
Standard Gengar isn't too special. His immunities back up his defenses, and his attacks allow him to take down many types (Shadow Ball stops Psychics, Focus Blast takes out Steel types and Thunderbolt will take down Water types, which is something no one else on my team besides Infernape can do. And Gengar's Speed makes me prefer him over Dusknoir.

alakazam.png

Alakazam (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: None
Nature: Modest
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Signal Beam
- Trick
Ah, good ol' Trick Specs! The Specs power up Alakazam's attacks, and using Trick to switch items will destroy a Pokémon like Blissey. But anyone who uses Trick Specs Alakazam should know this. On a side note, Alakazam is currently replacing my Gallade due to him being demoted to BL.

infernape.png

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: None
Nature: Naughty
- Close Combat
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot
- Nasty Plot
Simply take down Suicune or Milotic after Nasty Plotting Grass Knot, and destroy anyone who switches into something weak to Close Combat. It's the basic Infernape (btw, if someone knows what the NP in NP Mixape means, tell me). I also use Infernape as a replacement of Ninetales and Blaziken, both of which are outclassed by him.

----

salamence.png

Salamence (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: None
Nature: Mild
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Crunch
- Brick Break
To tell the truth, the only reason I use MixMence is because I was having problems with my Dragonite (probably due to my lack of a Choice Scarf). I have to say though, MixMence does wonders for me, and it's like they said, it's like Life Orb was made for it, especially with Draco Meteor and Flamethrower!

swampert.png

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 100 Atk / 100 Def / 100 SpA / 100 SpD / 100 Spe
Nature: Careful
- Earthquake
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
The tank of my team, and without a doubt my best Pokémon. Not to mention my favorite Water-Type, Swampert has always been with me (and as a result he's always on my team). Swampert is (as mentioned above) the tank of my team. I usually switch into him after Baton Passing with my Ninjask. Swords Dance makes him even stronger and the boost in Speed isn't something to shrug off (considering how slow Swampert is). I have considered switching Surf with Waterfall, due to it being Physical and because it doesn't hit everyone in double battles. I would have taught it Hydro Pump if I still could. On a side note, I believe I have used stat enhancing vitamins on it (such as Carbos and Calcium), so if that helps me determine its EVs, then notify me.

what are you passing ninjask to? you might want an all out psychical sweeper
you can get ev's from smogon anyalsis pages.
i would use different natures too
ninjask-adamant/jolly quiet doesnt help much as special def is pretty low and your reducing speed
gengar-timid just because you dont have psychical attacks no need to reduce def.
alazakam-timid although modest isn't bad you need all the speed possible
infernape-naive again you need the speed
swampert-relaxed probably will be taking more psychial hits than special-careful reduces surfs power
salamence-rash draco meteor is your best attack so it will increase its power even more and ice beam kills you anyway
there is also ev calcs out there where you enter its stats to find out evs

alright... I'll work on that.

...

You know that Gallade going down to BL doesn't change him in any way or make him any less viable for your team? When you're playing in OU you can use any pokémon you want except from the uber tier.

Yeah like stormtrooper said you EVs obv and you need to fix those natures.

Also I don't really see the point of Ninjask, you hardly have a viable pokemon to pass to. If you are passing swords dances you want to pass to a physical pokemon, and the closest to that here is your salamence with crunch and brick.. Perhaps try making it physical with dragon claw/outrage over draco meteor, and earthquake over flamethrower. Either that or just drop something and add a whole new poke completely. Pokemon like Metagross:

Metagross@Lum Berry
Nature: Adamant(Atk/-SAtk)
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Ice Punch
Thunderpunch

Something like that, would be a good candidate for Ninjask to pass to.
Just a suggestion though..

As a wifi and not a shoddy team it probably will work pretty well.

Ninjask Nature should become Adamant Leftover works but you might want Liechi Berry so you can boost your Atk at 25 percent and BP atk and speed to one your teammates a full on pyhsical sweeper would work better though.

Gengar Nature should be modest or timid

Alakazam its fine
Infernape should have naive nature NP means Nasty Plot
Salamence work well

Relaxed would be a better nature for swampert

I found the EV's of my Pokémon. Each of them have no EVs except Swampert (who has 100 in each except for HP).

BTW, does the Box trick work in Diamond and Pearl?

No. It won't be a huge problem for you though, you can just breed for more.

Anyway. Drop Ninjask and shift Gengar up to the lead role. You have room for Heatran, who partners well with Swampert. Run a Restalk set, and you'll have a fine defense.

I understand this is for WiFi, but if you could hack a Celebi, that would work even better.

Well, I hack anyway *prepares for about a million backlashes*

I'm trying to stop. Plus, when it comes to EVs and stuff, hacking is actually a bad thing if you do quick Level up (I've basically screwed myself over).

I guess my first way to stop hacking would be to go Level up Heatran.
