Jayne Cobb [Machamp] @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 188 HP / 96 Atk / 216 Def / 8 Spd
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Dynamic Punch
- Ice Punch

Jayne Cobb, the "macho man" of the ship. What Pokémon better to represent him than Machamp? Machamp provides me with a Sleep absorber and an amazing Tyranitar counter, who can be a problem with the team. The EVs (designed by some arrogant prince..) are more defensive than the standard set since I need to be able to switch in on a Weavile Night Slash, live an Ice Punch and take it out with Dynamic Punch. This set actually is a great lead, especially with the influx of Tyranitar leads. I'm considering using Metagross in this spot as a bulky ReSTalker to handle Weavile better.

Wash [Gliscor] @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Fang
- Roost

Wash is the pilot of Serenity and keeps things running smoothly. He performs a similar role on this team by keeping things running smoothly by countering Heracross, Lucario, and ScarfChomp. Very straightforward Pokémon, but one I've found to be a key component of this team; I encounter at least one of the three said threats in every battle I have.

f_Inaram_b546f5c.png

Inara [Celebi] @ Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe
- Leech Seed
- Recover
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Inara and Mal might not always get along, but they are a perfect match. Celebi provides with a steady Gyarados counter and gives Leech Seed support to the team, which is great for Heatran. For example, say my opponent just switched in their SpecsMence on my Celebi as I Leech Seed. I switch out to Heatran to take the Fire move and then hit whatever they bring in hard. Then the next time I have Celebi out, I can use Hidden Power predicting the Salamence switch in and bring it down for good.

f_Malm_47940df.png

Mal [Heatran] @ Leftovers
Nature: Modest
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 128 HP / 252 SpA / 128 Spe
- Lava Plume
- Earthpower
- Dragon Pulse
- Taunt / Hidden Power [Grass]

Mal, the fiery hearted captain of Serenity. This set is something I've been testing out with success in tandem with Celebi, as stated earlier. The Speed gets me past Tyranitar, but I may bump it up higher if I feel the need. Lava Plume's burn rate is fantastic for Gyarados, Garchomp, and Tyranitar switch-ins. And if Tyranitar thinks I'm running Specs, it'll get quite a surprise when Earthpower hits it the next turn. One thing I'm considering is changing Mal to a Scarfed Heatran and then changing the Operative to a completely different Pokémon. Thoughts?

f_TheOperativm_64f2013.png

The Operative [Infernape] @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 48 SpAtk / 212 Spe
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- Thunderpunch
- U-turn

The Operative goes unnamed throughout Serenity. You won't have much time to catch much information from this Infernape set either, should you be on the opposing lines of battle. This is my revenge killer extraordinaire. I almost always U-turn on the first turn (unless it is something like a Gyarados with two Dragon Dances, etc.) to scout what their Infernape counter is. After that I can attack accordingly the next time it comes in. I know the analysis suggests a Special Attacking Scarer, but this set has given me much more success. Although I've had success with the set, as I stated with Heatran, I think my team could be better off if I changed Heatran to a ScarfTran and switched this out for something that packs a little bigger punch... Suggestions would be nice.

f_Riverm_4b3bdc0.png

River [Azelf] @ Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SpA / 220 Spe
- Nasty Plot
- Psychic
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

River. Azelf. Innocent on the eye, deadly in combat. This is my late game sweeper and quite simply one of the most feared sweepers in the game. It's hard to find a better way to describe it than.. this.

Threats said:
Dangerous Threat List:
Mamoswine - Definitely a problem on the team, but I can usually out predict it. If I can sneak Machamp in on an Ice Shard then I'm safe, but if it gets slammed with an Earthquake it could mean trouble. As for addressing this issue, I know Cresselia could wall Mamoswine pretty well and take it down without being in too much harm. Infernape can always come in for the revenge kill, and Curse Mamoswines aren't that big of an issue as Machamp's Dynamic Punch will hit hard enough to screw them over anyways.

Weavile - One of the reasons I'm considering adding a Bronzong would be that it could stop these two main threats. It seems a lot of the teams I build are weak to one or the other, as I often include Gliscor on my teams as the main physical wall. However, I can sneak Infernape in on an Ice Shard or get Machamp in on Night Slash and be done with it for good. The nice part about Infernape is that I can U-turn on Weavile, KO, or switch accordingly to their switch in. So usually I can handle it, but if played wrong late game it could be a very dangerous threat.

Salamence - Similar to Weavile, I have to use my prediction to avoid being hurt by Salamence, and so far it's been fine. If they bring it in on Celebi, I go straight to Heatran to take the Fire move. If they use Draco Meteor for some reason on my switch, I can safely bring Celebi in to KO with HP Ice. If I predict wrong on Dragon Dance versions, I may need to make a sacrifice, but usually I can either take them out with Machamp, Celebi, or Gliscor.

Code:
[B]Pending Changes[/B]
Heatran (New Poké for Mal) --> Tentacruel (Zoe T_T)
Infernape (Bleh, maybe next time) --> Gyarados ? (Reaver ftl) -- [I]replacement for Tenta as well?[/I]

So there you have it! As far as I can see, the main problem is Mamoswine, but I would appreciate if you could spot out any other glaring weaknesses. I took a lot of time into building this RMT, so I would appreciate if you left an appropriate rate. Thanks for reading and (hopefully) rating!

SDChomp definitely looks like if could give you hell... Infernape is another pokemon you really need to predict to beat or sacrifice to stop. Personally I would change Heatran to ScarfTran and change Infernape to Bronzong and give your team some cushion to deal with Mamo, Chomp, Sassy, and Weavile. Machamp really doesnt seem to fit on the team and doesnt look like he gives the team much outside of a ttar counter which adding Bronzong could help with... I personally would replace him but I'm not really sure with what. Something to help with Infernape would be optimal... Perhaps a RestTalkGyarados since it allows you to still retain your sleep absorber and hammers any Infernape not packing rarely used T-Punch... Not sure though... =/

Hey Pride, good to see you. :D

For Chomp, it's really only a problem if it is running Yache Berry. If that is the case, I have to sacrifice Gliscor and then bring in Machamp to take it down. But I can see Infernape actually being a problem. The only thing with Ape is that it really won't stand in the way of an Azelf sweep, so assuming things go as planned I'll either take it down quickly or it'll just be another mark in the death toll of River's rage.

That actually sounds like a good idea. Bronzong could fill the roll as a lead, and ReSTalkDos is always great utility. Thanks for the rate Pride! ;)

Heracross also gives you headaches, particularly Scarf variants. Try Aerial Ace > Ice Fang on Gliscor.

What exactly can Heracross do to Gliscor?

Nice seeing you as well Pulse hope the advice does do more good then hurt =F We do need to get a battle in one day.

i dont really like 3 water weaks with just celebi to stop bulky waters. something like calm mind suicune/slobro could really give you problems

theres also a general lack of sdef, and specsmence can probably just pick everyone off. i'd consider maybe tentacruel or something over heatran, even if it fucks with the theme! tenta could be zoe ;_;

Nice team, and great theme!

Tentacruel would fit well over Heatran (forgetting the cool theme) for reasons above. Plus, Infernape won't have to be taken care of with your Azelf revenge kills, because you'd have your counter in Tenta. However, Tentacruel without Wish support wouldn't be able to hold off Infernape / Salamence for long, and would eventually come down. With that aside, Heatran is also worrying to the team, as it causes you to predict just to get in your Heatran to stop it...

Toxic Spikes may just be enough to take down other things faster, though. Such as Mamoswine, Infernape and Tyranitar. Tentacruel over Heatran's an idea to consider still.

Starmie is cool for Infernape and Heatran with its own Recover, but it doesn't solve Salamence's threat, nor does it help when Pursuit slaps it in the face leaving you open for Heatran and Infernape again.

Don't want to change the theme, you see. Which is why I'm trying not to change more than 1 Pokemon, but if you want to cover the majority of threats then it might have to happen.

Thanks for the posts guys! As for stall teams, Taunt on Heatran has worked pretty nicely, but since I plan on switching Heatran to be a Scarfer, I think I have another way to help. I could give Azelf Wise Glasses and Taunt. That would allow it to 2HKO Blissey after just two Nasty Plots and then sweep. Taunt also would be great for Wobbuffet, who would otherwise try to Mirror Coat a Flamethrower or Encore a Nasty Plot. To be honest, Celebi seems to be all the Gyarados answer I need. I haven't had any problems with it at all. As for SpecsMence, you're right Gorm, I have had a match where it the opponent played smart and just picked me down piece by piece. Empoleon is a great counter and could probably be just about anyone since it looks relatively... normal. For a penguin. T_T

Empoleon would let me stop SpecsMence and phaze Suicune and Slowbro. Bleh, but where to fit it in... Or is it even right for the job?

Taylor, I just saw your post so I'll edit in a response after I read it. ^_^
EDIT: Thanks! Anyways, I am really considering adding in Tentacruel and just making it Zoe. :P Empoleon would just make me more Infernape weak than ever, so I think that is out of the question. I'll be testing that out as soon as I can.

EDIT2: I added a "Pending Changes" box because I'm too damn lazy to make more pictures and descriptions. >.<

I can see this team having trouble with Gengar. Nothing on the team can safely switch in and only Azelf wins in a revenge kill. Gengar is very hard to counter though, as even Blissey doesn't beat it.

Do you find that there is a weakest link on your team? Cuz you may want to replace it with Weavile to finish off Gengar after it only gets one kill. Or come in on a shadow ball.

It's kinda hard to give suggestions while still fitting the theme. I mean, I was going to suggest Gyrados over Infernape after hearing you were going to get Tentacruel since you could potentially get outstalled and swept by crocune. It would also help with your slight Weavlie weak incase Machamp bites the dust. Gyrados could be a reaver I guess, because of their atrocious natures. >:O

I don't know why Mal would allow a murderous crazy guy on the ship but w/e.

Thanks for the posts. :) Anyways, I could probably make Gyarados a reaver without any worries, since he wouldn't let the Operative within a billion lightyears near his ship, but he's on the team. :P Thanks!

Machamp's EVs were advised by myself elsewhere, did you get them from such?

(Sorry to go off-topic, but yeah...)

I see you're still adamant to use Infernape / Azelf instead of coverage for threats, or haven't you updated the thread?

I'm going to use Azelf no matter what, but I'm considering Gyarados over Infernape, and then perhaps something to replace Tentacruel. And yes, the Machamp EVs were from you; they're fucking great man. I'll credit you in the description from now on. ;)

Ah, I see. Thanks, bud!

I just prefer them to the standard Adamant 252 / 252 spread. ;[

It really helps against Weavile, since it isn't 2HKO'd by an unboosted LO Ice Punch with Stealth Rocks in play; the 252 HP one is. T_T Plus it's just bulkier overall.
