Team Twilight Princess [OU RMT]

So recently, I've been getting interested into more stallish play. After trying out obistall and jabbastall and realizing they simply didn't work for me, I decided to try and create, not pure stall, with many entry hazards and phazers, but more like, a very bulky team with pokemon that are able to simply outlast the opponent over a longer period of time. It slowly wittles down their health while keeping my own pokemon healthy.

Without further ado, I present Team Twilight Princess!
By the way, for those wondering about the name, I just finished the game a while ago and felt as though they were well represented by my pokemon.

I'll add the threat list, and the teambuilding process later, I'm tired.

Wolf Link**Heatran @ Leftovers
252HP / 16 SpA / 240 SpD
Modest | Flash Fire

- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Roar
- Stealth Rock

Role
Is part of the core similar to link. He is very close to him, and also covers things that Link misses.
Moveset
Fire Blast and Earth power are fairly self explanatory, as almost every Ran has them nowadays...
Sub and Toxic are there because I didn't really have a statuser and there was nobody better than heatran for it :D
EVs
Kinda Obvious. SpA to maximize damage, Spe and timid to outspeed other non scarf trans, and hp for survivability.
Synergy
Ground to Rotom, Breloom.
Fighting to Rotom, Breloom.

breloom.png

Link**Breloom @ Toxic Orb
236 HP / 248 Atk / 24 Spe
Adamant | Poison Heal

- Spore
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Focus Punch

Role
Link is the core of the team. He is not the suicidal one, but rather, one that waits until he is ready, and then, setting up everything he needs, proceeds to own. Plus, he's GREEN! :toast:
Moveset
This is a very annoying moveset indeed. Spore pretty much takes out one opponent temporarily, subs on the switch, leech seeds as he breaks the sub, and sub until the opponent switches, and Focus punch the crap out of the incoming opponent. Rinse and repeat.
EVs
HP allows for maximum survivability as well as a breakpoint for toxic orb recovery. Speed is to outspeed a pokemon I forgot, and Attack is just to get maximum damage output out of it.
Synergy
Fire to Heatran, Vaporeon, Tyranitar.
Flying to Magnezone, Heatran, Tyranitar.
Psychic to Magnezone, Heatran, Tyranitar.
Ice to Magnezone, Vaporeon, Heatran.

tyranitar.png

Midna**Tyranitar @ Leftovers
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant | Sand Stream

- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Earthquake

Role
Tyranitar, similar to Midna, in terms of helping link with stuff that he needs help with :D
Moveset
Substitute gives me some freedom with the prediction which is especially useful agsint all those steel types roaming around T_T. DD to setup, and Crunch and EQ to wreck everything! :toast:
EVs
Self Explanatory.
Synergy
Ground to Breloom, Rotom.
Steel to magnezone, Rotom, Vaporeon, Heatran.
Fighting to Breloom, Rotom.
Water to Vaporeon, Swampert, Breloom.

vaporeon.png

Zelda**Vaporeon @ Leftovers
252 HP / 188 Def / 44 Spe / 26 SpD
Bold | Water Absorb

- Wish
- Protect
- Surf [ Probably going to switch to Ice Beam to cover all those pesky dragons]
- HP Electric

Role
She supports the team in general, and takes care of those suicunes, gyarados, and any other water type pokemon that try to set up. Also acts as a cleric for longer survivability, especially because several of her teamates can't do it by themselves.
Moveset
Wish is there to help add a boost to a teammate's HP in case it gets low and doesn't have time to recover, and also allows zone, ran, and ttar to last longer. Protect is there for wish, as well as scouting which move her counter will use. Surf and HP Electric for type coverage and to counter those pesky water types.
EVs
Ripped straight off the smogon page. Go look at it there.
Synergy
Electric to Breloom, Ttar, Magnezone, Rotom.
Grass to Breloom, Magnezone, Rotom, Heatran.

magnezone.png

Zant**Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
4 HP / 252 Spe / 252 SpA
Naïve | Magnet Pull

- Thunderbolt
- HP Fire
- Explosion
- Flash Cannon

Role
Like Zant, Zone doesn't come in often, but when he does, he sure makes a big impact in the game. Coming in on Scizor's BP or a skarmory roost or something, he eliminates the threat allowing Ttar to sweep in peace. Plus, Zone and Zant are similar :D
Moveset
Obvious moveset here, just for maximum coverage as a choiced sweeper. Also, by sacrificing zone, it can weaken heatran and breloom's counters, allowing the combination to be more effective.
EVs
Also obvious.
Synergy
Ground to Rotom, Breloom.
Fighting to Rotom, Breloom.

rotomheat.png

Ganondorf**Rotom-h @ Leftovers
252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Bold | Levitate

- Shadow Ball
- Will-o-Wisp
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Role
Like Ganondorf, he is very notorious for his [high defenses and hp]. He is also my status absorber, and status giver along with heatran.
Moveset
Shadow ball was chosen over Discharge or thunderbolt because I already had enough Electric attacks, and I also needed something to take care of those psychics if Ttar died due to a misprediction. WoW is to help with the physical sweepers so my team can last longer, and Restalk gives it the ability to absorb status as well as last longer.
EVs
Maximizes defenses, nuff said.
Synergy
Dark to Breloom, Tyranitar, Magnezone, Heatran.
Ghost to Tyranitar, Heatran, Magnezone.

Thank you for reading this RMT. Feel free to leave a comment or make a suggestion.

Ok, i will wait until the fancy stuff is done, but one crucial mistake you made, No stealth rocks, how can that be?

My suggestion is putting it on Heatran, instead of toxic, because, you will only hit bullky water and blissey with it, so might aswell use SR for team support, as Breelom Lurvs to switch on waters and on the pink and fat thing game freaks called Blissey

Ahhh! I forgot because, originally, Swampert was the lead in rotom's place, and breloom was just another poke. Swampert had the SR, but after i switched them, I forgot to put SR back in. Will do, thanks :D

You have a fairly large Offensive Latias Weakness. With its solid usage, thats something that can't be ignored right now. Between T-tar and rotom I feel like you could play around it, but coming in on the wrong move could spell trouble for your entire team.

You lack Stealth rock to minimize how many times pokemon like Gyarados/Salamence/Zapdos can switch in, meaning they can run through your team if played right. There is also no Spinner to remove your opponents hazards which is important when trying to keep your team in good health.

You also have no phasers, no perish song user to deal with last pokemon stat uppers, looking again you actually have 0 entry hazards and the pokemon you chose are much too offensive oriented to be on a "Stall" team.

Just some things that you should think about when revising your team. Good luck.

Well, again, I wasn't thinking very much at 1 AM when I switched swampert, my Stealth Rock user and phaser, for rotom. In addition, as I said before, this is simply a team so that I may outlast the opponent, and not so much a stall team. Perhaps it was wrong of me to refer to it as that, but meh. Other than magnezone, which loves switching in after vaporeons wish due to its resistance to electric and grass, every single pokemon has some way to recover HP.

I Plan on switching my heatran set to...

Heatran @ Leftovers
252 HP / 16 SpA / 240 SpD
Fire Blast / Earth Power / Roar / SR

...because I desperately need a phaser after I took out swampert. The other hazards, I'm not so worried about. This tran is going to be my lead.

Do you happen to have any suggestions to help fix the latias problem?

To help with Rotom, I think you should try a bulkier Tyranitar, without a set-up move as well. This Tyranitar will help with your Rotom, and Latias problems, because they both get in for free against a few of your Pokemon. Tyranitar may be able to stop them, but they can switch without you having pursuit. That's why I think you should try this set:

Tyranitar @ Lum Berry
careful nature
252 HP/ 124 Att/ 132 SpD
Crunch/ Pursuit/ Stone Edge/ Rest

I hope this helps, and good luck with the team!

hello wolf,

I noticed that Breloom doesn't seem to do much for this team. I would actually aim to return Swampert in this lineup just for the sake of checking Salamence and Tyranitar. The only thing Breloom really did (imo) was check Tyranitar to a good extent, and Swampert happens to do the job well. Place Swampert in the lead slot with the movesets Stealth Rock / Earthquake / Ice Beam / Roar and the nature Relaxed with the EVs 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpD. With that being said, this pushes Heatran outside the lead slot, allowing Heatran to space in Toxic over to strike Latias, Vaporeon, Swampert - common switch ins to Heatran. Revert to Lava Plume on Heatran since Fire Blast on an more defensive oriented set will frustrate you (if you miss). Plume adds a burn chance for Gyarados switch ins, and hell even Salamence. If you happen to score this then that's a good thing for this team.

Oh man, if Latias is a big concern, I think you can consider adding a specially defensive Tyranitar with Choice Band as listed on the smogon page. A 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD Careful Tyranitar helps greatly when dealing with Latias by trapping it with Pursuit or smashing it with Crunch. The moveset is Crunch / Pursuit / Stone Edge / Earthquake. Also what I will say is that on a defensive team like this, dragon dance is not needed. With this brand new set, you can check many special threats including Jolteon. So you might want to consider this.

As for other options, Thunderbolt seems to be the best move on Rotom over Shadow Ball. The only reason why it should run Shadow Ball, is if you want to hit Latias and Rotom. Now you have Tyranitar now. Consequently, Tyranitar can trap both of them with Pursuit or smash them with Crunch off the bat. Also if you are confident with checking Gyarados with Rotom, try out Heal Bell over Hidden Power Electric on Vaporeon. Heal Bell cures possible Will-O-Wisp hits on Tyranitar or any other status. It may turn out to be a good option. If not, revert HP Electric on Vaporeon for Heal Bell. overall gl.

I don't see any use for Magnezone on this team when you have Rotom and Heatran for Scizor, Skarmory, etc... I say you should replace it for Gliscor. Gliscor has excellent synergy with Rotom and Vaporeon as well as the rest of your team and gives you a surefire physical wall and check to SD Lucario and other Physical attackers like Choice Band Tyranitar. 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Spe, Jolly, Leftovers and the moves: Earthquake, Taunt, U-turn, and Roost will be very beneficial to your team. With Taunt Gliscor can prevent set up of Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and even Stealth Rock sometimes, meaning you can easily prevent stall from doing its job of setting up entry hazards, aka "breaking stall." After talking with you on irc and saying you don't want Breloom replaced due to it being the core of your team, Gliscor should allow you to keep it if at all possible and not hurt the team much as opposed to changing Breloom for something else.

I highly suggest you go with Franky's changes with changing to a Specially Defensive Choice Band Tyranitar. At the moment, you easily get 6-0ed by a Life Orb Latias and having Tyranitar to absorb a hit and KO it with Pursuit will help the momentum of the team. Do run Thunderbolt on Rotom-h also and change its spread to something like 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe or even 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe to help combat Gyarados and its STAB Waterfalls. While we're changing spreads, you really need to fix up Vaporeon's EVs to 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 Spe which maximizes out your defense and gives you some speed to pass wishes around. Heatran is a little weird, but I don't really have anything to say for it.

This should help your team out quite a bit. Good Luck.
