Other Team Tyranitar V2

Physical Tyranitar

formerly Marquis of Blaze
My second RMT. My first one was a Dark Monotype Team but it was too weak. Now that Greninja is banned from Dark Monotype, the Dark Monotype in general is a very weak squadron that has nothing on fairies. Dark is my favorite type, and I kept attempting to go with it. I learned my lesson when my insolence kept me out of the Monotype Premier League. More determined than ever to avenge myself, I knew from that day on I needed a new type that I could focus my energy on. I prefered a weather team to take advantage in which my team could rely on. So, after lots of thought, I narrowed down my choices:

Sunny Day: Works with Grass or Fire. Mega Charizard Y provides a stream of sunlight to activate Chlorophyll and increase sweeping potential. Cherrim becomes bulkier and is almost unstoppable.

Hail: Supplied by Abomasnow. Rotom-Fridge unleashes STAB, full-accuracy Blizzard. Mamoswine is immune to weather damage and can function through several teams. In triples, your opponent's team is bombarded with an endless barrage of 100% accuracy STAB Blizzards. But a single Close Combat will wreck your squad, with no counter.

Sand: Your team becomes virtually invulnerable in a sandstorm, which raises Special Endurance by 50% to withstand super-effective hits.

The reason I didn't choose Rain is because like Fairy, the options are stale I don't have to want to have to use bland options like Rotom-Wash, Azumarill, and Politoed. After much thought, I chose the Rock type, which benefits heavily from the sand to withstand heavy, heavy, HEAVY special onslaughts with ease. It is also ideal because I still get to use my signature pokemon as support, Tyranitar. Without further ado, this is my team:

Tyranitar@Smooth Rock
EVs: 248 HP, 252 Defense, 8 Special Defense
Relaxed Nature Ability: Sand Stream
-Whirlpool/Stealth Rock
-Thunder Wave
-Dragon Tail
-Fire Blast
Ttar is the core of my team. I needed him because he is the last remnant of my horrible Mono-Dark team consisting of Mandibuzz, Krookodile, Hydreigon, Tyranitar, Sableye, and Greninja. When I send him out in battle, he reminds me of my past. He sends sand and bulk to my team. Whirlpool is actually a good option; trapping the opponent and paralyzing it to prevent a switch-in is priceless. To let the foe feel Entry Hazard damage, you could always use Dragon Tail to whip them out of play and save the battle for another day. Fire Blast counters Skarmory and 2HKOs it, which is always a groan to see it in the team preview. Smooth Rock doubles the time that the sand lives so my team has increased bulk longer. When battling, the opponent's team usually directs all their focus at trying to obliterate the rock monster to get sand out of the way and make way for their weather. I would never run anything other than Smooth Rock; Banded doesn't do as much damage as one thinks. Scarfed Tyranitar is still pretty slow judging the alarming rate of the metagame, and Specs just seems ridiculous. When rating my team, I ask you not to voice your opinion on whether Specs, Band, or Scarf is good for Ttar.

Terrakion@Life Orb
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Jolly Nature Ability: Justified
-Close Combat
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Return/X-Scissor
This legendary pokemon that battled humans to protect fellow pokemon but still somehow was captured is my antidote to all Mono Dark Teams, and is my primary sweeper and lead when sending in Tyranitar may not be sensible. I caught this pokemon in Unova because Umbreon and Snorlax could use Curse all day long and become unstoppable. I read in an article that Terrakion is vital in a sandstorm team as it has enormous potential to sweep. Since it is a proven fact that Monotype teams are almost always weaker than OU teams due to the lack of options, Terrakion really cleans up in the late-game when all the checks can be KO'd with coverage attacks. Close Combat uses STAB hits many foes, almost always OHKOing them with the Life Orb-boosted assault, and Return has Base 102 Damage, which is almost impossible to ignore. X-Scissor can be vital coverage in certain situations. Earthquake is for coverage and kills Heatran. Overall, Terrakion's excellent coverage allows it to sweep and makes it difficult to switch into. Under my control, Terrakion will soon learn that not all humans are bad. Just 99.9% of them.

Regirock@Choice Band
EVs: 172 HP, 252 Attack, 84 Speed
Adamant Nature Ability: Clear Body
-Drain Punch
-Fire Punch
-Ice Punch
-Stone Edge
Regirock is one of the iconic contenders when you think of "Rock Monotype". It sports a monstrous Base 200 Defense which allows it to stomach STAB Close Combats and Earthquakes, and 100 Special Defense that raises to 150 in the sandstorm, which will most likely be there. Formerly a ResTalk, it let me down due to its underwhelming speed which would render it defeated before it could pop another Rest. I was about to let him go, when I read on Serebii that Regirock was a decent Choice Band. Effectively, I changed Regirock's role from a mediocre staller to a bulky sweeper. Stone Edge is a fine STAB attack with a high critical hit-ratio and the elemental punches are there for coverage. A burn and a Frozen status never hurt either to rack up a few more hits. And thanks to Showdown's EXTREMELY rigged random number mechanics, once you are Frozen, unless you carry Scald, you will never thaw out. Regirock's enormous bulk and high physical attacking capabilities will make him a valuable asset on my team.

Rhyperior@Assault Vest
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Special Defense, 4 HP
Careful Nature Ability: Solid Rock
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Fire Punch
-Thunder Punch
Oh, Rhyperior. He would probably be BL if his Special Defense was at least 80. Instead, he is crippled with a crumpled piece of paper thrown at him with BASE 55 Special Defense. But give that Rhino, who can survive STAB super-effective attacks that are physical with ease even uninvested, an Assault Vest, which raises Special Defense by 50% AND in a Sandy world, this puppy is going to Hollywood! Fire Punch gets rid of pesky Scizors, and all the moveslots are solely for coverage. Rhyperior can survive a SolarBeam from Mega Charizard Y! This Special Sponge helps me fend off Starmie, Ninetales, and others. In my opinion, Rhyperior is a very underrated pokemon that can be awesome with the right item. Choice Band, Life Orb, Leftovers, they all seem good, but those Rhyperiors will be very weak when faced with the task of demolishing a special sweeper with low defense such as Espeon, Alakazam, and Mega Mewtwo Y. With Rhyperior, my foes will be surprised at the bulk of the rock titan I have so raised with loving care and affection.

Aggron@Aggronite
EVs: 248 HP, 252 Attack, 8 Special Defense
Adamant Nature Ability: Filter
-Heavy Slam
-Fire Punch
-Stone Edge
-Aqua Tail
Mega Aggron is my main powerhouse. With Base 230 Defense and Filter, it takes super-effective boosted attacks almost twice as good as Regirock. I originally had Tyrantrum instead of Aggron, but the T-rex didn't hit extremely hard and wasn't specially bulky. When I noticed that A banded Scizor would Bullet Punch Diancie, Tyrantrum, and Aurorus, former members of Team Tyranitar, and basically wreck my team, I knew I had to take matters into my own hands. Aggron easily tanks Bullet Punch and can 2HKO with Fire Punch and burn Scizor, rendering it completely useless. The ultimate counter to Scizor, it has little trouble stomaching super-effective attacks, and stops Mega Altaria even after a Cotton Guard boost. This monster really helps me in the late game and is a reliable physical wall. Azumarill, Scizor, Mega Altaria, and Lucario have effectively been removed from my counter list thanks to Mega Aggron. Heavy Slam does ENORMOUS damage, even when resisted. Fire Punch stops that former counter, Scizor, on its tracks. Aqua Tail and stone Edge is for good, elemental coverage, to face off against tens of many a former threat.

Rampardos@Focus Sash
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Adamant Nature Ability: Sheer Force
-Stone Edge
-Superpower
-Earthquake
-Pain Split
I know what you are probably thinking: Rampardos is a very unbalanced gimmick loser that is a horrible Choice Scarf and can't run bulky. You are right. But Rampy the Rampardos has a use that is extremely valuable; revenge killing. With a Focus Sash and immunity to sandstorm, it will survive a hit, and instantly activate it's hyper offensive-nature. Pain Split can surprisingly dish out tons of damage at 1 HP, and Stone Edge is a city-leveling STAB attack with 165 Base Attack, which is really hard to stomach. Really hard. Since it is a given that Rampardos probably isn't going to last long, it does its role as a suicide lead very well. Since at 1 HP endurance-lowering doesn't matter, Superpower OHKOs Tyranitar, Bisharp, Aggron, Bastiodon, and others. Earthquake is solid coverage, and with Rampy's fossil aura, and high attack, and awesome design, how can you resist it's pure awesomeness?

Counters and Threats:

Mega Sableye- It Burns my all-physical team and can take a hit well.

Rotom Wash- Same reason as Mega Sableye

Mega Venusaur- Sweeps and takes hits

In conclusion, I worked very hard on my team. As a burn cripples it, I need advice on a rock-type special attacker, please. Thank you for your cooperation.
